Warm Bodies

Warm Bodies is a novel by author Isaac Marion. The book was described as a "zombie romance" by the Seattle Post Intelligencer and makes allusions to William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The author, based in Seattle, originally wrote a short story titled "I Am a Zombie Filled with Love". Atria Books, a division of Simon & Schuster, acquired the publishing rights to the full novel in early 2010.

Plot

In a post-apocalyptic future, a male zombie still in the early stages of decay lives in a community of the Dead in an abandoned airport near the city. He refers to himself as “R” since he cannot remember his full name, among other details of his life. R reveals through first person narrative that human civilization has been destroyed by wars and disasters, resulting in a mysterious zombie plague. Now whole communities of zombies live in hives, and are separated into two categories based on the amount of decay: Fleshies, the Dead who still have flesh on them, and Boneys, the Dead who have been reduced to nothing more than skeletons with bits of muscle keeping them together. The Boneys are basically the leaders of the Dead, and are seemingly stronger and more intelligent than Fleshies. They can only be killed if their brains are destroyed. The zombies are very lethargic for the most part, have limited speech and short memories, and are notably illiterate. They live in what is a mere, twisted shadow of a normal society. One of the few times they are truly focused and animated is when they go hunting for the Living, their only food source, during which they spontaneously form a hunting party. The brain is the best part, because if they eat it, then they can relive the memories, feelings, and thoughts of their prey. Anything that’s left of the prey is brought back for the others to eat.

Teresa Palmer

Teresa Mary Palmer (born February 26, 1986) is an Australian actress and model who made her film debut in the suicide drama 2:37. Palmer was seen in The Grudge 2 in 2006, in December Boys and in the 2008 children's fantasy Bedtime Stories. She appeared in The Sorcerer's Apprentice in 2010 and her films in 2011 include her role as Number Six in the sci-fi film I Am Number Four and playing the love interest in Take Me Home Tonight. In 2013, she starred in the zombie love story, Warm Bodies and the romantic war film, Love and Honor. In 2014, she co-starred in the direct-to-video romantic drama film Parts Per Billion, the thriller film Cut Bank and had the leading role in the independent drama film The Ever After, which she co-wrote and co-produced with her husband, director Mark Webber. She co-starred in the 2014 black comedy thriller film Kill Me Three Times and in the 2015 remake of Point Break.

In 2016, Palmer played the female lead role in the film adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel The Choice.

Nicholas Hoult

Nicholas Caradoc Hoult (born 7 December 1989) is an English actor. Born in Berkshire, Hoult made his professional acting debut at the age of seven in the 1996 film Intimate Relations. He received recognition after landing the role of Marcus Brewer in About a Boy, for which he was nominated for the Critics' Choice Movie Award for Best Young Performer. He received further acclaim for his performance as Tony Stonem in Skins.

Following these roles, Hoult found significant commercial success after landing the role of Beast in the X-Men films For his role as R in the romantic zombie comedy Warm Bodies, he received three Teen Choice Award nominations and won the Teen Choice Award for Choice Breakout. In 2015, he starred as Lyle Wirth in Dark Places and as Nux in Mad Max: Fury Road and is set to reprise his role as Beast in the upcoming superhero film X-Men: Apocalypse.

Early life

Hoult was born in Wokingham, Berkshire, the third of four children of Glenis (née Brown; born 1954), a piano teacher, and Roger Hoult (born 1953), a pilot for British Airways. His siblings are Clarista, James, and Rosanna, and his great-aunt was actress Dame Anna Neagle.

Jonathan Levine

Jonathan A. Levine (born June 18, 1976) is an American film director and screenwriter. He is probably best known for directing 50/50 in 2011.

Life and career

Levine was born in New York City, to Jewish parents. He attended the St Bernard's School in New York for his elementary school, and Phillips Academy in Andover for his high school. He also received his Bachelors degree from Brown University and his Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) in Film Directing from the American Film Institute, or the AFI Conservatory.

In 2006, he was nominated for a Best Independent Mini-Feature Award at the Black Reel Awards for his AFI Thesis short film Shards (2004), which also won a Certificate of Excellence at the 2005 Brooklyn Film Festival for Best Cinematography by Petra Korner. He also wrote and directed a documentary short entitled Love Bytes (2005), where he sets out on a cross country roadtrip to find love in major cities with the assistance of a laptop and an Audi A3.
