*All of my videos feature the best audio quality you'll find anywhere! Thanks for checking out my channel... "This Christmas" is a well-known Christmas song originally recorded by R&B; singer/songwriter Donny Hathaway and released as an Atco single in 1970. Hathaway co-wrote the song (it is credited to Nadine McKinnor and "Donny Pitts," the stage name Hathaway used). AllMusic shows a Billboard magazine peak of No. 11 on The Hot 100 chart, Joel Whitburn's, Christmas in the Charts (1920-2004), indicates a No. 11 on the Christmas Singles chart. In 2012, "This Christmas" hit the Billboard Japan Hot 100 Singles at No. 92, and again in 2013, at No. 71.- published: 05 Dec 2013

La Belle Epoque Black Is Black
La Belle Epoque Black Is Black
Belle Epoque (also referenced in some sources as La Belle Epoque) was the name of a female vocal trio, based in Paris, France. The group first rose to popularity during the mid to late 1970s with a disco remake of the song, "Black Is Black", originally a hit in 1966 for the Spanish group Los Bravos. In UK sources, such as David Roberts' British Hit Singles & Albums, the band is listed by the name "La Belle Epoque." In U.S. sources, such as Joel Whitburn's Hot Dance/Disco 1974-2003 and Top Pop Singles 1955-2002, the group is listed as "Belle Epoque." Evelyne Lenton's official website lists the band's name as "Belle Epoque." "Belle Epoque" is also the name listed for the group on its first U.S. album, Miss Broadway, released in 1977 on Big Tree Records (BT 76008). But the cover of their "Black Is Black" single (extended version) is shown as "La Belle Epoque". A reproduction of this cover can be seen on the popular video download site (YT) for example. Belle Epoque consisted of lead singer Evelyne Lenton, a French singer who began recording and performing in the early 1960s under the name Evy, as well as two back-up singers. Originally, the back-up singers were Jusy Fortes (also known as Judy Lisboa), originating from Cape Verde, and Marcia Briscoe (also known as Marcia Briscue), hailing from Atlanta, Georgia. However, over time, as Lenton notes, "The girls kept changing with the circumstances." The trio scored a major European hit in 1977 with their discofied remake of "Black Is Black", sometimes also known as "Disco Sound/Black Is Black". The Belle Epoque version was a top ten hit in many European countries, including number 2 in the UK Singles Chart (the same chart position that Los Bravos' original had reached there eleven years earlier). The song also became a number 1 hit in Australia in 1978. In the U.S., Belle Epoque are better known for another song, "Miss Broadway", which charted at number 26 on the U.S. R&B; chart and at number 92 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978. "Miss Broadway" and "Black Is Black" both rose to number 21 on Billboard's "National Disco Action Top 40" chart in summer 1977. Other hits in continental Europe followed into the late 1970s. Lenton began recording solo again in 1983, although she has worked with contemporary music producers to craft remixes of "Black Is Black" and "Miss Broadway."...4u 2c only for learning ...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belle_Epoque_(band)- published: 16 Nov 2013

The Manhansett Quartet or Quartette, or Manhasset Quartet, was an American vocal group. It was the first such group to make commercial recordings in its own name, between about 1892 and 1901. The group formed in the Bowery area of New York City, and originally comprised George J. Gaskin, Gilbert Girard, Joe Riley, and a fourth member remembered only as Evans. Tenor singer John Bieling became a member in 1894. The group made its first cylinder recordings in 1892 for the United States Phonograph Company in Newark, New Jersey, and then recorded for many companies over the next decade including Edison and Columbia. According to Joel Whitburn, the quartet's most commercially successful recordings included "The Picture Turned Towards The Wall" and "Sally In Our Alley" (both 1892), and "The Old Oaken Bucket" (1894). The group dissolved about 1901, by which time Gaskin already had a well-established career as one of the era's leading recording artists, and Bieling had become a member of the Haydn Quartet.[3] Gilbert Girard also continued a successful recording and performing career, especially in a duo with Len Spencer in which Girard used his talents for mimicking animal and bird sounds.- published: 24 Oct 2013

SOCIAL MEDIA Twitter: https://twitter.com/auxtv Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/auxtv Tumblr: http://auxtv.tumblr.com --------- The name of this show is This Exists. So this is probably breaking our own rules, but there is a song -- a song that reached the Billboard charts in 1979 -- that does not exist. We're not talking about John Cage's 4'33", unquestionably the most famous silent piece of music. 4'33" is three movements ostensibly of silence -- lasting four minutes and thirty three seconds, this most famous of Cage's works is intended to challenge the very concept of music by making accidental environmental sounds its focal point. But it has sheet music. It exists. Ready 'N' Steady does not exist. There is no score. There are no funny YouTube videos about it or TED Talks debating its merits as cultural commentary. But in 1979, it debuted at 106 on Billboard "Bubbling Under" chart. Credited to the band DA and the label Rascal Records, Ready 'N' Steady wasn't just a one week clerical error. It spent three weeks just outside of the Hot 100, peaking at 102 before disappearing. Music historian Joel Whitburn has spent years trying to figure out who DA was, who Rascal Records was -- going so far as the visit an old address credited to the label, and finding only an empty office. Here's where the astonishing conclusion would go if there was one. But literally no one knows how this happened. Was the song a fake? Is it just lost to time? Ready 'N' Steady might be our mysterious piece of non-existent music, but it's not entirely alone. Tell me if this sounds like Mick Jagger. Singing about nookie. The Masked Marauders were a joke, the wholly non-existent basis for a phony review that Greil Marcus wrote for Rolling Stone. Supposedly a supergroup consisting of Jagger, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, and John Lennon, the joke took on a life of its own when readers started calling record stores looking for the album. So Marcus recorded one, Warner Brothers released it, and sold 100 000 copies. "Grunge speak" was as real as the Masked Marauders -- in a 1992 New York Times article about grunge and the success of Sub Pop Records, someone who worked at the label invented a whole secret grunge language, like "cob knobbler" and "swinging on the flippity-flop." The Times printed it. More recently, an art student uploaded a fake Vampire Weekend cover and legit music outlets like Complex and FACT all reported it like it was the real thing. I'm still waiting for Lemon Sounds. Because they also uploaded this teaser. So those things don't exist. I guess this show is a lie. Do you think Ready 'N' Steady exists? Have you ever thought something was real that wasn't? Let us know in the comments, and subscribe for new episodes of This Exists every week. Now please enjoy my performance of John Cage's 4'33" in its entirety.- published: 20 Feb 2014

Enoch Light - If Ever I Would Leave You
Enoch Light - If Ever I Would Leave You
"The language of music is a language which the soul alone understands, but which the soul can never translate. "― Arnold Bennett ▼▼▼ ENOCH LIGHT Enoch Light began as a light classical violinist after graduating from Johns Hopkins University, performing in the US and Europe. After a near-fatal car accident in 1940 and World War II interrupted his classical career, he organized his own dance band, "The Light Brigade," and worked in clubs and hotels around the Northeast of the USA. It was a conservative band, what was known as a "sweet band," specializing in music for middle-aged dancers. He recorded with this band for RCA and Columbia. He broke up the band toward the end of the 1940s and went into management, working for several record companies before becoming president of Waldorf Music Hall Records in 1954. He founded his own label, Grand Award, in 1956 and had several successes with Dixieland and honky-tonk piano albums. Light sold Grand Award to ABC Records and formed Command in 1959 with the specific aim of capitalizing on the emerging market of stereo fanatics. He wanted his recordings to take maximum advantage of left-right channelization without stooping to tricks like "ping-pong" effects. The first Command LP, "Persuasive Percussion," was a huge hit. It was unlike anything before it because its sales came almost exclusively from retail exposure--its numbers received relatively little airplay on the mono AM radio. Joel Whitburn lists "Persuasive" as one of the 25 best-selling albums of the modern era. Light produced a steady stream of Command releases, under a variety of names, sometimes featuring musicians such as Tony Mottola or Dick Hyman. He continued to experiment with techniques, becoming one of the first to use 35mm film to record instead of magnetic tape. One big advantage of film over tape was that distortions due to the drag of the original tape across the recording head ("wow" and "flutter") were reduced dramatically. In 1965, he sold Command to ABC Records, which was itself bought by MCA a few years later. Light returned to the scene within months of leaving Command with a new label, Project 3, and quickly picked up many of his former Command lineup of musicians. Like Command, Project 3 featured immaculate recordings and beautiful glossy gatefold designs. Overall, though, Project 3 recordings are more conventionally easy-listening and rely far less on dramatic contrasts between channels and dynamic extremes. Enoch Light retired in 1974. IF EVER I WOULD LEAVE YOU Song from the musical "Camelot" with music written by Frederick Loewe and lyrics written by Alan Jay Lerner. "Camelot" is based on the King Arthur legend as adapted from the T. H. White tetralogy novel "The Once and Future King." The original 1960 production, directed by Moss Hart and orchestrated by Robert Russell Bennett and Philip J. Lang, ran on Broadway for 873 performances, winning four Tony Awards and spawning several revivals, foreign productions and a 1967 film version. MHO Superb arrangement and orchestration here of the beautiful Loewe classic "If Ever I Would Leave You". Gentle rhythm in the background, strings galore and magnificent counter melodies plus some fine accents played here and there by the flutes and some soft brass elements. Highly romantic and sensual music - a great example of Frederick Loewe's fabulous talent as a composer So, "curtain please" gentlemen and .... take it away Maestro ! Enjoy.- published: 09 Feb 2014

Arthur Fiedler Album #5
"Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing" is a popular song with music by Sammy Fain and lyrics by Paul Francis Webster.
The song was publicized first in the movie, Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing (1955), winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song. From 1967 to 1973, it was used as the theme song to Love is a Many Splendored Thing, the soap opera based on the movie.
The best-selling version of the song was recorded by The Four Aces, issued by Decca Records as catalog number 29625. It reached number two in the UK Singles Chart, and number one on both Billboard and Cash Box in 1955. The recording by The Four Aces is featured in the film Cookie (1989).
A version by Don Cornell was recorded approximately at the same time. It was issued by Coral Records as catalog number 61467. The song has also has been recorded by Ringo Starr (on his album Sentimental Journey), Frank Sinatra, Andy Williams, Nat King Cole and Barry Manilow. Neil Sedaka recorded the song in Italian as "L'Amore E' Una Cosa Meravigliosa". Connie Francis recorded the song in Italian in 1960 during the work for her album More Italian Favorites, although this version remains unreleased to this day. Francis also recorded the original English lyrics in 1961 for her album Connie Francis Sings 'Never on Sunday' and Other Title Songs from Motion Pictures. The instrumental playback of this 1961 recording was also used when Francis cut a German language version, "Sag, weißt du denn, was Liebe ist", in 1966.
This song has been heard in movies such as Grease, Private Parts, St. Trinian's, St. Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold, and The Nutty Professor 2. The song was referenced in Moulin Rouge when Christian says, "Love is like oxygen - love is a many splendored thing - love lifts us up where we belong! All you need is love!."

A Whiter Shade Of Pale - Munich Machine
(Una Palida Sombra) (1978) For review purposes only. "A Whiter Shade of Pale" is the debut song by the British rock band Procol Harum, released 12 May 1967. The single reached number one in the UK Singles Chart on 8 June 1967, and stayed there for six weeks.[1] Without much promotion, it reached No. 5 on the US charts, as well.[2] One of the anthems of the 1967 Summer of Love, it is one of fewer than 30 singles to have sold over 10 million copies worldwide.[3]
With its haunting Bach-derived instrumental melody, soulful vocals, and unusual lyrics—by the song's co-authors Gary Brooker, Keith Reid,[4] and organist Matthew Fisher — "A Whiter Shade of Pale" reached No. 1 in several countries when released in 1967. In the years since, it has become an enduring classic. It was the most played song in the last 75 years in public places in the UK (as of 2009),[5] and the United Kingdom performing rights group Phonographic Performance Limited in 2004 recognised it as the most-played record by British broadcasting of the past 70 years.[6] Also in 2004, Rolling Stone placed "A Whiter Shade of Pale" No. 57 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

THE MELLO MOODS - "WHERE ARE YOU? (NOW THAT I NEED YOU)" (1951)
The Mello-Moods were an American R&B; musical ensemble, operating from the late 1940s to mid-1950s. Their members were Ray "Buddy" Wooten, Bobby Williams, Monteith P. "Monte" Owens, Alvin "Bobby" Baylor and Jimmy Bethea. Composed of teenagers, the group's music was nonetheless focused on an adult market. After the band broke up in 1953, Baylor, Owens and Williams went to join another band, The Solitaires. Monte Owens died on March 3, 2011 in the Bronx, New York, after illness, at the age of 74. The group released four records, two on the Red Robin label, and two on Prestige Records. "How Could You" / "Where Are You (Now That I Need You)", Red Robin (105), released 1951. This reached the Top 10 in the US Billboard R&B; chart in 1952, and, according to Joel Whitburn, original copies have the highest cash value, $2000, of any record ever making the R&B; chart. "I Couldn't Sleep a Wink Last Night", Red Robin (104), released 1952 "Call on Me", Prestige Records (799), recorded in 1952, released 1952 "I'm Lost", Prestige Records (852), recorded in 1952, released 1953- published: 08 Dec 2013
