Kathmandu (Nepali: काठमांडौ [kɑːʈʰmɑːɳɖuː]; Nepal Bhasa: येँ देय्‌) is the capital and, with more than one million inhabitants, the largest metropolitan city of Nepal. The city is the urban core of the Kathmandu Valley in the Himalayas, which contains two sister cities: Lalitpur (Patan), 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) to its south and Bhaktapur or Bhadgaon, 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) to its east, and a number of smaller towns. It is also acronymed as 'KTM' and named 'tri-city'. In the last census (2001), the city of Kathmandu had 671,846 inhabitants. Population estimates for 2005 were 790,612 and for 2010 they stood at 989,273. The municipal area is (50.67 square kilometres (19.56 sq mi)) and the population density is 19,500 per km².

The city stands at an elevation of approximately 1,400 metres (4,600 ft) in the bowl-shaped valley in central Nepal surrounded by four major hills: Shivapuri, Phulchowki, Nagarjun and Chandragiri. Kathmandu valley is part of three districts, Kathmandu District, Lalitpur District and Bhaktapur District, with the highest population density in the country and accounting for about 1/15 of its population. These three disticts contain 2.5 million people, as of the 2011 census.

Pharrell Williams (born April 5, 1973), commonly known simply as Pharrell, is an American rapper, singer, record producer, composer, and fashion designer. Williams and Chad Hugo make up the record production duo The Neptunes, producing hip hop and R&B music. He is also the lead vocalist and drummer of hip-hop band N.E.R.D, which he formed with Hugo and childhood friend Shay Haley. He released his first single "Frontin'" in 2003 and followed up with his first album In My Mind in 2006.

As part of The Neptunes, Williams has produced numerous hit singles for various musicians. The two have earned three Grammy Awards amongst ten nominations. He is also the co-founder of the clothing brands Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream Clothing. He is a member of the supergroup V.A. Playaz with Fam-Lay, Clipse, Skillz, Missy Elliott, and Timbaland & Magoo.

Pharrell Williams was born on April 5, 1973, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, the eldest of three sons of Carolyn, a teacher, and Pharaoh Williams, a handyman. He met Chad Hugo in a seventh-grade summer band camp where Williams played the keyboards and drums and Hugo played tenor saxophone. They were also both members of a marching band; Williams played the snare drum while Chad was student conductor. With Hugo, Williams attended Princess Anne High School where they played in the school band; there he got the name Skateboard P.

Rajesh Hamal (born September 7, 1965) is an actor in Nepali movie industry. He is currently known to be the biggest actor (star) of Nepal. Hamal has received many awards for his acting. He has won National Film Awards For "Best Actor Debut"award in 1989 for Yug Dekhi Yug Samma film. He has won 12 National Film Awards For "Best Actor" awards and being nominated for 12 times among 28 awards in his film career. He has also been nominated for National Film Awards For "Best Supporting Actor" in 1994 film "Paribhasa" and National Film Awards For "Best Actor Award In Comic Role" in 1998 film "Mr Ram Krishne" and 2010 film Hath Ma Lagyo Sunya. Among these, he had been Honoured by Nepal Government, Nepal Film Association and also by KTV Film Awards for his contribution for Nepali films.

Rajesh Hamal studied at St. Xavier's School till the eighth grade. His father was a diplomat; as such he partly went to college in Moscow and finished his M.A. in English literature from Punjab University, India. He is the most educated and professional actor of Nepalese movie industry. He also did his matriculation from Shree shanti vidhya ghriha school which is currently situated at Lainchour.^{[citation needed]}

Ramesh Kharel (Nepali: रमेश खरेल) is a policeman from Nepal known for his integrity and fight against corruption within the Nepali Police Force.

Ramesh Kharel has served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Pokhara, Kathmandu, and Birgunj. His transfer from Kathmandu was a controversial decision, and was likely delayed by public outcry and support for his stay in Kathmandu.

During his service in Kathmandu, he cracked down on crime in the city, including controlling the gangs and the so-called "dons" of Kathmandu. He also presided over raids on dance clubs that were illegally working as brothels in Kathmandu. He had similarly cracked down on illegal prostitution during his earlier stint in Pokhara.

Once moving to Birgunj in Parsa District, he has continued the strong policing he was known for in Kathmandu. Even in the first 10 days since his transfer, it was reported that crime was down and the rife corruption within the police force had decreased significantly. The practice of collecting illegal tolls from those importing goods from India was also significantly cut.
