You might want to pick up a couple extra because here are 20 alternative things you can freeze into cubes besides water. You're welcome in advance.
1. Add frozen coffee cubes to your iced coffee to prevent it from watering down
2. Freeze extra greens, like spinach and kale, into cubes for adding to your breakfast smoothie.
3. Keep extra herbs from going to waste by freezing them in olive oil. See how to do it here.
5. Freeze extra sauces, like marinara. Next time you want to make a single serving of pasta, just pop a cube or two in the microwave for instant sauce. You can also do this with leftover soup or pesto.
6. Freeze Greek yogurt in cubes and add to smoothies to make them creamier.
7. Make wine ice cubes for sangria (if for some reason you have leftover wine).
8. Freeze homemade baby food.
10. Make creative cocktail ice cubes
12. Freeze leftover cookie dough into individual portions. Just pop them out and bake as you normally would.
13. Freeze champagne for adding to orange juice for a fast mimosa. Add a berry to each cube if you're fancy.
14. Freeze lemon juice, along with the zest, into cubes and add to a vegetable or pasta dish for a burst of citrus.
15. For picky eaters, blend broccoli or any vegetable you like and freeze. These make a sneaky addition to a pot of chili or spaghetti sauce.
16. Freeze leftover egg yolks and whites. You will have to thaw the cubes if using them to bake, but whites can be defrosted right in the pan for omelettes.
17. Leftover buttermilk can be frozen too. Just defrost before using them in baking mixes. Remember to measure out how many tablespoons you put in each cube. For soups, you can add them frozen to the pot.
18. Make sushi
19. Or chocolate covered strawberries
