DARPA Space Surveillance Telescope
Full story: http://www.darpa.mil/NewsEvents/Releases/2013/12/06.aspx As satellites become more common, they face growing risk of colliding with space debris and even each other. The U.S. Department of Defense has thus made space situational awareness a top priority to maintain communication, Earth observation and other critical capabilities upon which military, civilian and commercial functions rely. Traditional telescope technology, however, has difficulty finding and tracking small objects—such as debris and satellites—across wide tracks of sky, especially at the increasingly crowded geosynchronous orbits roughly 22,000 miles above the Earth's surface. To help overcome these challenges, DARPA has developed the Space Surveillance Telescope (SST). Through its unique combination of several novel technologies, the SST program seeks to enable much faster discovery and tracking of previously unseen, hard-to-find small objects in geosynchronous orbits. The SST offers unprecedented rapid search of small objects in space thanks to its innovative Mersenne-Schmidt design and its curved charge coupled device (CCD) imaging technology, the first of its kind. The combination also enables the SST to be much more compact than traditional ground-based telescopes of similar capability. The telescope's mount uses advanced servo-control technology, making the SST one of the quickest and most agile telescopes of its size ever built. The SST's capabilities are equally impressive: It can search an area larger than the continental United States or Australia in seconds and survey the entire geosynchronous belt within its field of view multiple times in one night, an order of magnitude faster than traditional telescopes. Additionally, the SST is ten times more sensitive than current state-of-the-art systems, enabling it to find and track much smaller, dimmer and more transient objects than its predecessors can. The SST will soon move from its current mountaintop location in New Mexico, where the system underwent operational testing and evaluation, to Australia, where it will provide key space situational awareness from the southern hemisphere—an area of the geosynchronous belt that is still largely unexplored.- published: 08 Dec 2013

Synopsis
Before anyone says this is pure science fiction, please consider this: The Internet was originally developed by DARPA. It is no longer a secret that DARPA has also been developing genetically modified (enhanced) humans, better known as super soldiers, to fight future wars. Imagine a microchip attached to your brain with fiber optics that attach like dendrites to interact with your brain and project a holographic image that you can use or connect directly to the internet so you can access any information by simply thinking about it. Or worse, the conceptual images may be transferred to your brain and you would not be able to differentiate your own thoughts from a hologram.
None of the roundtable participants like the term "Super Soldier". The only reason why it is being used is because most in the alternative media community are familiar with the term. A more appropriate term would be "Enhance Humans" or perhaps genetically modified transhumans.
The future of war is going to look really, really weird. The "super soldier" research that DARPA (the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) is working on right now is unlike anything we have ever seen before. If DARPA is successful, and if the American people don’t object, the soldiers of the future will be genetically modified transhumans capable of superhuman feats. Do you want a soldier that can run faster than Usain Bolt? DARPA is working on that. Do you want a soldier that won’t need food or sleep for days? DARPA is working on that? Do you want a soldier that can regrow lost limbs? DARPA is working on that. Do you want a soldier that can outlift Olympic weightlifters and that can communicate telepathically? DARPA is working on that. Americans flock to movies about superheroes and mutants, and soon they may actually have real life "superheroes" and "mutants" fighting their wars for them. But at what cost?
A recent article detailed many of the strange research projects that DARPA is working on right now. The fact that DARPA has actually allowed these projects to be revealed in the mainstream media probably means that the development stage is nearly over and they are ready to try to convince a wary public to accept them….
Tomorrow’s soldiers could be able to run at Olympic speeds and will be able to go for days without food or sleep, if new research into gene manipulation is successful.
According to the U.S. Army’s plans for the future, their soldiers will be able to carry huge weights, live off their fat stores for extended periods and even regrow limbs blown apart by bombs.
The plans were revealed by novelist Simon Conway, who was granted behind-the-scenes access to the Pentagon’s high-tech Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency.
So how is this possible?
How would you genetically modify a human to be able to have these abilities?
A different article recently explained how this basically works….
Most gene modification techniques involve placing genetically modified DNA inside a virus and injecting it into the human body. The virus then enters human cells, and its modified DNA attaches itself to the human DNA inside those cells.
When you really stop and think about this kind of technology, the implications are staggering.
Could viruses be used to genetically modify humanity on a large scale?
How would the rest of humanity respond to a "super race" of mutants that are clearly "superior" to the rest of us in a bunch of different ways?
When you start messing with creation, it opens up Pandora’s Box.
The possibilities are endless, but so are the potential problems.
Just because we can do something does not mean that we should. There may be consequences decades down the road that we cannot even conceive of right now.

Virtual Autopsies
The virtual autopsy is one of the greatest advances in forensic medicine in the past hundred years. With the aid of three-dimensional X-ray techniques, virtual and bloodless autopsies are now being performed on suspected victims of crime. CMIV (the Centre for Medical Image Science and Visualisation) at Linköping University Hospital, NVIS (Norrköpings Visualisation and Interaction Studio) and the National Board of Forensic Medicine in Linköping are world leaders in the field of virtual autopsies. This project is part of the Swedish Visualisation research programme. Behind the programme are the Knowledge Foundation, the Foundation for Strategic Research, Vinnova, Vårdalstiftelsen (the Foundation for Health Care Sciences and Allergy Research) and the Invest in Sweden Agency. A total of SEK 85 million is being invested over five years.

LG - "Advanced Learning"
While the owner is away, the hi-tech gadgets will come out to play. Protected by the shroud of night and an empty house, a band of super advanced television components come together & take center stage to create their own stunning lightshow.
I was brought in to Digital Domain to concept, design and figure out how to bring to life an intricate lightshow described in Carl Erik Rinsch directors treatment.
After extensive initial image research on light, I created a series of styleframes that explored how the light came together to form a central lightshow. I knew it would be key to work with Josh Nimoy on the project to push and expand a piece he had written and offered open source on his personal website called "Pinch". Josh was down for the cause and wrote several OpenGL applications in C++ that gave me the parameters & control to tweak and render beautiful cones of light tissue and the central light orb.
Although the project timeline didn't allow for full 3d camera matching within Josh's systems and subsequent integration before delivery, we did turn the corner after extensive testing and were able to match the cones of light in Josh's systems to camera moves (which you can see at the end of the behind the scenes video below). This project set solid groundwork for more advanced coding system development on future projects with Josh.

Mother
A film for Norwegian Centre of Expertice - Maritime
The Client:
Norwegian Centre of Expertise – Maritime
Norway, home for a tiny 0,1% of the world’s population, controls over 5% of the world’s merchant fleet and has the second largest offshore fleet in the world, after USA!
A World-Leading Maritime Cluster
Most of Norway’s strength in the field of advanced marine operations is concentrated within an hour’s drive from the picturesque town of Ålesund on the country’s west coast. The region is home for an impressive constellation of over 200 leading maritime companies and training, research and finance institutions that form one of very few complete maritime clusters in the world.
Centre for Norway's Maritime Expertise
Due to its leading position and its strong global presence, the cluster was awarded the prestigious status as Norwegian Centre of Expertise – Maritime by the Norwegian government. Over 75% of the world’s large, hi-tech offshore vessels are designed there. 40% of the world’s most advanced offshore fleet is controlled by the region’s ship-owners.15 design companies
14 ship yards
18 ship-owner companies
159 equipment suppliers
40% of the world's modern fleet
= One World-class maritime cluster!
The Challenge/The Brief:
Disseminate the world's largest maritime cluster's responsibilities, opportunities and prospects. This should be done without showing a single product, without showing a single vessel, and without showing a single employee. The Client also wanted us to create a feeling of internal pride of the maritime cluster, and its employees.
The solution:
The solution is in The Ocean.
