BHOPAL: A 4-year-old girl was raped at Bitaura village in Datia district on Tuesday night. The survivor, who sustained injuries in her private parts, has been admitted to district hospital for treatment.

Vir Pal Singh, 22, a resident of the same village, has been arrested. IG (Chambal range) D C Sagar said, "The girl is out of danger now and undergoing treatment."

"The girl is in a state of shock and could not speak or tell anything about the accused," he said.

Parents of the survivor had gone to marriage ceremony and the minor and her brother were sleeping in courtyard, police said. It was then accused reached the courtyard in inebriated condition and took the girl to a nearby farm, raped her and fled the spot, police said.

When parents returned they stared looking for the minor and were shocked to see her condition, police said. They reported the matter to police station early morning.
