Video : Hurray for the Riff Raff : “I Know It’s Wrong (But That’s Alright)”

Americana southern gothic collective Hurray for the Riff Raff have been burning up our ears for a majority of this year with their latest album Small Town Heroes. One of the many fantastic songs on it “I Know It’s Wrong (But That’s Alright)” got the video treatment. It sort of has rockabilly version of the Pink Ladies story to it with singer Alynda Lee Segarra leading a girl gang called the Gaslight Girls. Just like the song, it is great. Watch below.

Song : Superhumanoids : “Come Say Hello”

“Come Say Hello” is the new track from LA’s Superhumanoids. It will appear on the “Come Say Hello”/”Hey Big Bang” 7″ via Innovative Leisure and follow-up last year’s grossly under-the-radar Exhibitionists LP. Stream below.

Video : Mother : “Easy”

Mother, the project led by actor Penn Badgely has received a lot of attention for their two single to date, “Victim” and “Easy”. Some might choose to dismiss the project simply because of the celebrity factor, but they would be doing themselves a disservice because the tracks are incredibly polished with Badgely vocals proving to be quite good. Today, they are releasing “Easy” officially on iTunes and revealed a self-directed black and white video. It features model Karina Trizotti looking enticing as lyrics from the song are flashed on the screen. I am sure you, just like us, will find it to be a simple, but effective visual compliment. Song : Tennis : “Never Work For Free”

Denver’s Tennis have announced their return with new LP Ritual In Repeat slated for release on September 9th through Communion. The album follows up 2012’s Young and Old and, once again, enlists The Black Key’s Patrick Carney for production duties along with Spoon’s Jim Eno, and The Shins’ Richard Swift. The first song from it is sugary sweet sounding “Never Work For Free”. While the song doesn’t have the pop we would hope for, it is still a solid song probably characterized best as easy listening. Give it a spin below.

Video : JUCE : “(H)ours”

With all of the ’90s styled influence floating around music and pop culture in general these days, it only makes sense that we start seeing girl groups popping up. The London trio of Georgia, Chalin & Cherish, aka JUCE, is at the forefront of this hopefully reemerging trend. After creating some noise with “Call You Out”, they really bring their A-game with “(H)ours” and the video for it. Directed by Kate Moross, you see the latest doing some synchronized dance moves resembling voguing made famouse by Madonna back in 1990.
