3: The Dale Earnhardt Story (sometimes referred to as The Dale Earnhardt Movie) is a 2004 television movie produced by ESPN documenting the life of NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt, his poor upbringing in Kannapolis, North Carolina, his rise to dominance in NASCAR, his relationship with his son, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., and his death in the 2001 Daytona 500. It was first broadcast on December 11, 2004, and was subsequently released on DVD. Barry Pepper stars as Dale Earnhardt.
Many race scenes were shot at Rockingham Speedway, after the track had lost its races and was used mostly as a test track and driving school. Chad McCumbee, who portrayed Junior, later became a NASCAR driver in the Truck Series. He also raced alongside Dale Jr. himself at the Pocono 500, driving Kyle Petty's 45 car, as Kyle Petty was in the TNT broadcast booth.
Actors playing the part of Earnhardt's famous Goodwrench #3 pit crew were Ray Everett, Greg Davis, David Brooks, Robbie Hicks and Don Gyr.
The script of this film was not approved by Teresa Earnhardt and the Earnhardt family. The film, although capturing the essence of Dale Earnhardt, is inaccurate in many of the events seen in the film. Richard Childress, the former car owner and team owner of Dale Earnhardt sued ESPN for copyright infringement with the film's use of the "3" logo.
A film, also called a movie or motion picture, is a series of still or moving images. It is produced by recording photographic images with cameras, or by creating images using animation techniques or visual effects. The process of filmmaking has developed into an art form and industry.
Films are cultural artifacts created by specific cultures, which reflect those cultures, and, in turn, affect them. Film is considered to be an important art form, a source of popular entertainment and a powerful method for educating – or indoctrinating – citizens. The visual elements of cinema give motion pictures a universal power of communication. Some films have become popular worldwide attractions by using dubbing or subtitles that translate the dialogue into the language of the viewer.
Films are made up of a series of individual images called frames. When these images are shown rapidly in succession, a viewer has the illusion that motion is occurring. The viewer cannot see the flickering between frames due to an effect known as persistence of vision, whereby the eye retains a visual image for a fraction of a second after the source has been removed. Viewers perceive motion due to a psychological effect called beta movement.
Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone (/stəˈloʊn/; born July 6, 1946), commonly known as Sylvester Stallone, and nicknamed Sly Stallone, is an American actor, filmmaker, screenwriter, film director and occasional painter. Stallone is known for his machismo and Hollywood action roles. Two of the notable characters he has portrayed are boxer Rocky Balboa and soldier John Rambo. The Rocky and Rambo franchises, along with several other films, strengthened his reputation as an actor and his box office earnings.
Stallone's film Rocky was inducted into the National Film Registry as well as having its film props placed in the Smithsonian Museum. Stallone's use of the front entrance to the Philadelphia Museum of Art in the Rocky series led the area to be nicknamed the Rocky Steps. Philadelphia has a statue of his Rocky character placed permanently near the museum, on the right side before the steps. It was announced on December 7, 2010 that Stallone was voted into boxing's Hall of Fame.
Sylvester Stallone was born Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone in New York City, the elder son of Frank Stallone, Sr., a hairdresser, and Jackie Stallone (born Jacqueline Labofish), an astrologer, former dancer, and promoter of women's wrestling. His younger brother is actor and musician Frank Stallone. Stallone's father was born in Gioia del Colle, Apulia, Italy, and emigrated to the United States as a child. Stallone's mother is of half Russian Jewish and half French descent.
Zachary David Alexander "Zac" Efron (born October 18, 1987) is an American actor and singer. He began acting professionally in the early 2000s and became known with his lead roles in the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical, the WB series Summerland, and the 2007 film version of the Broadway musical Hairspray. Efron has since starred in the films 17 Again, Me and Orson Welles, Charlie St. Cloud, New Year's Eve, and The Lucky One.
In 2007, Rolling Stone declared him the "poster boy for tweenyboppers" and featured him in their late August 2007 issue.
Efron was born in San Luis Obispo, California, and later moved to Arroyo Grande, California. His father, David Efron, is an electrical engineer at a power station, and his mother, Starla Baskett, is a former secretary who worked at the same power plant. Efron has a younger brother, Dylan, and had, as he has described it, a "normal childhood" in a middle class family. He is an agnostic, having never been religious. His surname, "Efron", means "lark" in Hebrew (his paternal grandfather was Jewish).
Seth Rogen (pronounced /ˈroʊɡɪn/; born April 15, 1982) is a Canadian stand-up comedian, actor, producer, screenwriter, and voice artist. Rogen began his career doing stand-up comedy during his teen years, winning the Vancouver Amateur Comedy Contest in 1998. While still living in his native Vancouver, he landed a small part in Freaks and Geeks. Shortly after Rogen moved to Los Angeles for his role, Freaks and Geeks was canceled after one season due to poor ratings. He then got a part on the equally short-lived Undeclared, which also hired him as a staff writer.
After landing a job as a staff writer on the final season of Da Ali G Show, for which Rogen and the other writers received an Emmy nomination, he was guided by film producer Judd Apatow toward a film career. Rogen was cast in a major supporting role and credited as a co-producer in Apatow's directorial debut, The 40-Year-Old Virgin. After Rogen received critical praise for that performance, Universal Pictures agreed to cast him as the lead in Apatow's directorial feature films Knocked Up and Funny People. Rogen and his comedy partner Evan Goldberg co-wrote the films Superbad, Pineapple Express, and The Green Hornet. Rogen has done voice work for the films Horton Hears a Who!, Kung Fu Panda, Monsters vs. Aliens, and Paul. He married fellow screenwriter Lauren Miller in October 2011.

You the star, you the star, yeah
And I'll be the director and the actor

You the star, you the star, yeah
(Verses)
Now this ain't for the world to see
But it's a classic for you and me
Oh well I know it's a masterpiece
That we'll watch again and again
Cause lady I got a script, that you won't believe
Just take your time to really got no matter
And you'll feel out the part, you'll play the lead
And when that red light comes on
Girl it's time to perform
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
(Chorus)
I wanna make a movie (I wanna make a movie) movie movie
You got the part, got the part, yeah
(You know you got it girl)

(Verses)
Watch it all night on a Saturday
Wait you to trade it for a matinée
See we can film it wherever you wanna film it girl
In our kitchen, on top of the camera's where I do you girl
I, do you wanna come with me, now I,
I'll take you on a red carpet
And i, get on the top of me
And they stop the scene
We won't win an Oscar for this baby
(Chorus)
I wanna make a movie movie movie
(I wanna make a movie with you girl)
You got the part, got the part, yeah
I wanna make a movie movie movie
(I wanna make a movie with you girl)
You the star, you the star, yeah
(You the star of the show)
And I'll be the director and the actor
And I'll join in, if I have to
Let's make a movie movie movie
Face them, the time will erase them
Stop trying to chase them
I've taken my place and it's not worth the tears
I waited so long for this love
As another was slipping away
I waited so long for this moment
As the others were wasted
Cast a shade to save your eyes
Take this time to turn and say goodbye
Frozen, the words go unspoken
New victims are chosen
My heart will be broken but so will my fear
I waited so long for this love
As another was slipping away
I waited so long for this moment
As the others were wasted
Cast a shade to save your eyes
seconds turn to hours
listen with your song
maybe it would be easy
maybe it would be easy
you turn my seasons cold
your skies turn
you turn my seasons cold
you shine the shadows
maybe the space only grows
space that lacks the light of the world
take back the thoughts that you left me
maybe the space only grows
you shine the shadows
nothing fits the way you live
you shine the shadows
nothing fits the way you live
never look at you
listen with your song
life's a bad movie i see it all coming
can't draw me in out of my disbelief
the purest emotion's just cheap imitation
can't get involved, get a moment's relief
life's a bad movie but i'm way past caring
so i'll sit and watch with a beer and some friends
together we'll laugh at the plot and the people
(McKinley)
Maybe you should drive up here and get me,
though I'm not sure I'll make much sense.
Everything I've built is leaning
and they just raised the rent.
We could drive out to the desert.
You always make me feel like we're on film.
Sometimes my head just turns on me,
and you know that's a movie we were already in.
You know that's a movie we were already in.
Come on, drive up here and get me.
Let's go visiting our dead.
They're under the sand singing, and
we're not bigger than them yet.
Tonight the dead are so dramatic,
they still want to be our friends.
I need you to feed me my lines again.
You know it's a movie we were already in.
The movie is done once more
The mood sets in with lights
Let's wait for them to leave
I was never one for crowds
I look down on the floor
Everything's undone
Yet we've been so much more
Than a full-length feature
REFRAIN 1
We long for escape
Let this mem'ry take shape
For the heroes we often see
I don't know if it's me
Or the movies we've seen
I don't remember
As well as I should
CHORUS
I stay so silent with your arms adjacent
And credits may soon roll away
Wooh
You have my jacket on
Comfort in my warmth
I'm used to the cold
I'm used to the cold
REFRAIN 2
And I hope you'd agree
How this story should be
How I wish I could change the scenes
I'd write on the next page
An early coming of age
For me to tell you
As well as I could
CHORUS
I stay so silent with your arms adjacent
And credits may soon roll away
Could I stay so silent with your arms adjacent
The vagueness may soon come to light
Should I say so silent with your arms adjacent
As I play my part in my show
Forever shall I be the ill-fated type
Forever must I be the one you confide to
Forever must I be the pages you need
For you to write all your secrets that you hope I would keep
Forever must I drive you home late at night
After watching these films that seem to imitate life
Forever must I be the opinion you seek and
Forever will I be the friend that you would keep
