Codex Sinaiticus (Hebrew: קודקס סינאיטיקוס‎, Greek: Σιναϊτικός Κώδικας; Shelfmarks and references: London, Brit. Libr., Additional Manuscripts 43725; Gregory-Aland nº א [Aleph] or 01, [Soden δ 2]) is one of the four great uncial codices, an ancient, handwritten copy of the Greek Bible. The codex is considered a priceless historical treasure.

The codex is an Alexandrian text-type manuscript written in the 4th century in uncial letters on parchment. Current scholarship considers the Codex Sinaiticus to be one of the best Greek texts of the New Testament, along with that of the Codex Vaticanus. Until the discovery by Tischendorf of the Sinaiticus text, the Codex Vaticanus was unrivaled.

The Codex Sinaiticus came to the attention of scholars in the 19th century at the Greek Orthodox Monastery of Mount Sinai, with further material discovered in the 20th and 21st centuries. Although parts of the Codex are scattered across four libraries around the world, most of the manuscript today resides within the British Library. Since its discovery, study of the Codex Sinaiticus has proven to be extremely useful to scholars for the purposes of biblical translation.

Dan Wallace (born 14 June 1942) is a former Irish Fianna Fáil politician who served for more than twenty years as Teachta Dála (TD) for Cork North–Central.

A former customs clerk with the Ford Motor Company in Cork, Wallace was an unsuccessful candidate at the 1981 and February 1982 general elections. He was first elected to the 24th Dáil at the November 1982 general election, and was re-elected to Dáil Éireann in every subsequent general election until he retired at that 2007 general election.

He has twice achieved ministerial office, as Minister of State at the Department of the Environment from 1992–1993 and again from 1997–2002.

In the 29th Dáil, Wallace was Vice-Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee until November 2004.

Dan Wallace was Lord Mayor of Cork for the 1985 to 1986 term.
