Verlierer der Geschichte (7) - Indira Gandhi
Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi (* 19. November 1917 in Allahabad; † 31.

Indira Priyadarshini (HIndi) Part 01
Indira Priyadarshini Nehru, the only child of Jawaharlal and Kamala Nehru, was born in Allahabad, in Ananda Bhavan, on 19 November 1917. Her grandfather, Motilal Nehru, named her Indira after his own mother. She was one of the most important historical personalities of modern India, whose ideas and activities profoundly affected different spheres of public life and politics in India, and left an imprint on world affairs. She was the first and only woman Prime Minister of India. In 1923, she was admitted to St. Cicilias, a private school in Allahabad. In March 1926, she accompanied her parents to Switzerland and studied there at I'Ecole Nouvelle. In December, 1927, she returned to India and joined St. Mary's Convent in Allahabad. As a teenager, she began to take active part in the freedom struggle.- published: 30 May 2014

1º Parte. El asesinato de Indira y Rajiv Gandhi.
INDIRA GANDHI.

The Last Calligraphers
A film by by Premjit Ramachandran.
"While the Musalman is a Muslim newspaper, it is a hub of South Asian liberalism, employing both women and non-Muslims. Half the katibs are women and the chief reporter is Hindu. Staff members say that Indira Gandhi, former prime minister of India, once called the business the epitome of what modern India should be.
Fazlulla believes the handwritten pages are crucial to the paper and to the tradition of handwritten Urdu.
For centuries, handwriting was the definitive mark of social status, education and liberal values in India. Calligraphers mastered the swooping Urdu script in ivory-tower institutions and penned copies of the Koran for wealthy patrons. The pinnacle of a katib's achievement meant a seat at court and a chance to earn the sultan's ear.
Similar to spoken Hindi, Urdu is a mixture of Arabic, Persian and local Indian languages. It originated in the army camps of Muslim rulers in Delhi and has been the language of poets and artists because its rich roots draw on so many traditions across various cultures."

The Musalman is probably the last handwritten newspaper in the world and has been operational since 1927. Here is their story.

#6DaysOfTerror // NSYF
This short was made for National Sikh Youth Federation. NSYF is an independant NGO and Think Tank that works with individuals and organisations in the Sikh Community. Their primarily focus is on research and education of Sikh History.
After the assassination of Indian PM Indira Gandhi in 1984, Delhi saw tens of thousands of Sikhs murdered in a systematic genocide. Neither men, women nor children were spared as police, politicians and celebrities took to their respective platforms to encourage the atrocities against Sikhs. Over two decades later, justice remains to be served.
