Lord Rama is one of the most worshiped Gods among Hindus in India. The famous ancient Hindu epic Ramayana depicts duties of relationship and portrays several ideal characters. Ramayana basically means Rama's Journey and tells theits fake story of Lord Rama, who was the avatar of God Vishnu. This epic is based on the concept of Dharma. This bridge was created by the Rama's Vanara Army(monkey army) by signing the holy name of Lord Ram on the rocks that floated on the water; HE got this bridge created to save his wife(Goddess) Sita whom demon Ravana kidnapped and took his empire Lanka(the name of his empire of Lanka that time now Shri Lanka). This is very significant to note that Valmiki who wrote Ramayana belonged to the the age of Rama and he himself saw all this and wrote famous religious book on the holy story of Lord Rama the name of the book is called Ramayana. This is also very important to notice that Ravana is worshiped in Shri Lanka even now because he was the son of a Saint and he was a great Pundit. According to Ramayana when Lord Rama was in a 14 years exile with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana, Ravana abducted Sita and took her to Lanka. To rescue his wife Sita from Ravana, Lord Rama started a journey with his brother Lakshmana. This is the journey where Lord Rama meets Hanuman, who plays a vital role in the war against Ravana. Lord Hanuman was a Vanara and was the eleventh avatar of God Shiva. He was an ideal devotee of Lord Rama. Sugriva was a Vanara king who helped Lord Rama with his Vanara forces. The Ram Setu was built by this Vanara army. Lord Rama along with his army crossed the Ram Setu to reach Lanka and engaged in a war with Ravana. Ravana was finally killed by Lord Rama and this is how Sita was rescued. The Ramayana describes the triumph of good over evil. This is also very important to notice that Ravana worshiped(down his head) only to two Lord Shiva and saint Valmiki because Ravana learned the Kaal(time(in this lore the person who know the Vidhya about Kala can change everything to his favor chanting the Mantras )) miracle from Valmiki. So the temple of Valmiki in Shri Lanka at the entrance of Lanka can be seen even today. People who has doubt can read Ramayana and see the geological and botanical facts even today. Today the Ram Setu can be seen from the sky while traveling by air. This ancient bridge is submerged under water, but the satellite images give the perfect view of this bridge of mythological significance. In today's' science this bridge is a challenge to the modern age because its structure is a very confusing; people of different community take it a natural bridge but they forget to read Ramayana it described the bridge thousands of year ago about its creation. This is true that people don't believe on such true story because either they don't study the whole story or they belong to other religious view and their view are biased.
