Pressure needs to be applied across the joint to pull it up tightly, but how to do it? This video shows a simple method using nothing more complicated than F clamps, sandpaper, some corner blocks and a few oddments of plywood.

It was 1960, and the Soviets were developing a family of long range cruise missiles which could be launched from ships, submarines and aircraft. These missiles flew quickly and at low altitudes which made them ideal for targeting US Navy carriers. A sufficiently large number of these missiles could overwhelm the most advanced air defenses of that time. The US navy also lacked a long range fighter with a sufficiently large weapon load to intercept and destroy Soviet missiles and aircraft before they got too close to the carrier group. This made them realize the need for a fighter which can fly hundreds of km from the carrier and intercept Soviet bombers and missiles before it was too late.
Grumman engineers tested hundreds of wind tunnel models in various configurations and finally the model which was chosen had a swing wing and twin turbojet engines. The unique feature of these turbojets was that each of the 20,000 pound thrust producing engines were separated by several feet physically. This proved to be an ideal layout as the space between the engines under the fuselage was employed for carrying the massive AIM-54 Phoenix missile and 2000 lb. bombs. This design required a tall tail stabilizer which would hamper movement in the hangars of aircraft carriers. So Grumman opted for a twin tail configuration which allowed the use of short tail stabilizers. Unlike the side by side seating used by the pilot and the radar intercept officer in the F-111, the F-14 featured tandem seating for its 2 man crew which resulted in further streamlining of the aircraft. The final design chosen was the Design 303E

My goal was to make a robotic structure based on a tank frame.
This tank should be sufficiently large and especially light enough to climb stairs, whatever they are, and even those with nosing. These imposing a great height, see my previous videos.
With a length of 85cm and a weight of 2.5kg, I feel I have reached my goal. Furthermore an additional charge of 1kg is possible and will allow additional batteries or any component for a particular application. This 1kg load is a maximum as you can see in my video, it struggles to climb stairs.
For the tracks, I used D joint (window joint) as shown in my previous videos.

Title: Synthetic Controls for Policy Evaluation
Abstract: Much of the currently available statistical machinery to evaluate the effects of policy interventions is designed with the goal of estimating average effects over a population from which we have obtained sufficiently large samples of units exposed and units not exposed to the intervention of interest. In practice, however, many of the interventions policy makers care about are implemented at an aggregate level and affect a small number of large entities, such as cities, school districts, or states. In this talk, I will provide an overview of synthetic control methods, a recently developed statistical tool to evaluate the effects of large aggregate interventions. The description of the nature and properties of synthetic controls will be coupled with empirical applications.

Trump Breaking News Network - Fiat CEO Warns May Shut All Mexico Production If Trump Tariff Too High.
Agree with his proposed policies or not, it's difficult to argue that Trump is delivering on his promises to the autoworkers of the Midwest who single-handedly voted him into the White House. Before even taking office, the mere threat of import tariffs has caused Ford to cancel the construction of a $1.6 billion new facility in Mexico, and has automotive CEO's from Toyota to Chrysler walking on eggshells as they carefully try to flaunt all of the capital investments they're making in U.S.-based facilities.
While likely secretly hoping for the status quo, Fiat Chrysler's U.S. CEO, Sergio Marchionne, admitted earlier today that if Trump's import tariffs are "sufficiently large" he would be forced to shutter all of his manufacturing capacity in Mexico as it would be rendered "uneconomical." Per the FT:
Fiat Chrysler may close its Mexican car plants if Donald Trump imposes sufficiently stringent tariffs on vehicles coming into the US, chief executive Sergio Marchionne said on Monday.
“It’s possible that if economic tariffs are imposed…and are sufficiently large, it will make production of anything in mexico uneconomical and we would have to withdraw,” he said in Detroit on Monday. “It’s quite possible.”
As it turns out, purchasing 18mm cars per year, even if those purchases are fueled by a massive subprime auto lending bubble, affords the U.S. some leverage on where those vehicles are manufactured. And, as Marchionne points out, the manufacturing capacity in Mexico was specifically designed and tooled to manufacture vehicles for the U.S. market which means that attempts to "re-purpose" the facilities for the export market would almost certainly be uneconomical.
Chrysler produces 503,000 vehicles in Mexico a year at two sites and is heavily dependent on exports to the US, with 86 per cent of its cars sold to US or Canada in 2015.
Mexico’s car industry has blossomed under the North American Free Trade Agreement, with the industry making 3.4m cars a year and automakers from Ford and GM to Nissan and Volkswagen producing vehicles in the country.
But the industry is heavily reliant on access to the US and Canadian markets, accounting for 82 per cent of the country’s 2.7m exports.

One of the major bottlenecks in the development of Statistical Machine Translation systems for most language pairs is the lack of bilingual parallel training data. Currently available parallel corpora span relatively few language pairs and very few domains; building new ones of sufficiently large size and high quality is time-consuming and expensive. In this talk, I will present methods that enable automatic creation of parallel corpora by exploiting a rich, diverse, and readily available resource: comparable corpora. Comparable corpora are bilingual texts that, while not parallel in the strict sense, are somewhat related and convey overlapping information. Such texts exist in large quantities on the Web; a good example are the multilingual news feeds produced by news agencies such as Agence France Presse, CNN, and BBC. I will present novel methods for extracting good-quality parallel data from such comparable collections. I will show how to detect parallelism at various granularity levels, and thus find parallel documents (if there are any in the collection), parallel sentences, and parallel sub-sentential fragments. In order to demonstrate the validity of this approach, I use my method to extract data from large-scale comparable corpora for various language pairs, and show that the extracted data helps improve the end-to-end performance of a state-of-the art machine translation system.

Molecular dynamics is one method to approximate the average properties of a chemical system using a Newtonian classical mechanics trajectory through time, using a molecular mechanics energy function. The ergodic hypothesis says that a simulation through sufficiently large time or over sufficiently large space should produce the same results.

Although West Kensington does not boast any sort of reputation other than genteel, its canvas was sufficiently large enough to showcase this projection of the House of Versace. Eventually (mathematics)
In the mathematical areas of number theory and analysis, an infinite sequence (an) is said to eventually have a certain property if the sequence always has that property after a finite number of terms. This can be extended to the class of properties P that apply to elements of any ordered set (sequences and subsets of R are ordered, for example).
Motivation and definition
Often, when looking at infinite sequences, it doesn't matter too much what behaviour the sequence exhibits early on. What matters is what the sequence does in the long term. The idea of having a property "eventually" rigorizes this viewpoint.
For example, the definition of a sequence of real numbers (an) converging to some limit a is: for all ε > 0 there exists N > 0 such that, for all n > N, |an − a| < ε. The phrase eventually is used as shorthand for the fact that "there exists N > 0 such that, for all n > N..." So the convergence definition can be restated as: for all ε > 0, eventually |an − a| < ε. In this setting it is also synonymous with the expression "for all but a finite number of terms" – not to be confused with "for almost all terms" which generally allows for infinitely many exceptions.

With a length of 85cm and a weight of 2.5kg, I feel I have reached my goal. Furthermore an additional charge of 1kg is possible and will allow additional batteries or any component for a particular application. One of the major bottlenecks in the development of Statistical Machine Translation systems for most language pairs is the lack of bilingual parallel training data. Currently available parallel corpora span relatively few language pairs and very few domains; building new ones of sufficiently large size and high quality is time-consuming and expensive. In this talk, I will present methods that enable automatic creation of parallel corpora by exploiting a rich, diverse, and readily available resource: comparable corpora. These missiles flew quickly and at low altitudes which made them ideal for targeting US Navy carriers. A sufficiently large number of these missiles could overwhelm the most advanced air defenses of that time. The US navy also lacked a long range fighter with a sufficiently large weapon load to intercept and destroy Soviet missiles and aircraft before they got too close to the carrier group. This made them realize the need for a fighter which can fly hundreds of km from the carrier and intercept Soviet bombers and missiles before it was too late.
Grumman engineers tested hundreds of wind tunnel models in various configurations and finally the model which was chosen had a swing wing and twin turbojet engines. The unique feature of these turbojets was that each of the 20,000 pound thrust producing engines were separated by several feet physically. This proved to be an ideal layout as the space between the engines under the fuselage was employed for carrying the massive AIM-54 Phoenix missile and 2000 lb. bombs. This design required a tall tail stabilizer which would hamper movement in the hangars of aircraft carriers. So Grumman opted for a twin tail configuration which allowed the use of short tail stabilizers. Unlike the side by side seating used by the pilot and the radar intercept officer in the F-111, the F-14 featured tandem seating for its 2 man crew which resulted in further streamlining of the aircraft. The final design chosen was the Design 303E

While likely secretly hoping for the status quo, Fiat Chrysler's U.S. CEO, Sergio Marchionne, admitted earlier today that if Trump's import tariffs are "sufficiently large" he would be forced to shutter all of his manufacturing capacity in Mexico as it would be rendered "uneconomical." Per the FT:
Fiat Chrysler may close its Mexican car plants if Donald Trump imposes sufficiently stringent tariffs on vehicles coming into the US, chief executive Sergio Marchionne said on Monday.
“It’s possible that if economic tariffs are imposed…and are sufficiently large, it will make production of anything in mexico uneconomical and we would have to withdraw,” he said in Detroit on Monday. “It’s quite possible.”
As it turns out, purchasing 18mm cars per year, even if those purchases are fueled by a massive subprime auto lending bubble, affords the U.S. some leverage on where those vehicles are manufactured. And, as Marchionne points out, the manufacturing capacity in Mexico was specifically designed and tooled to manufacture vehicles for the U.S. market which means that attempts to "re-purpose" the facilities for the export market would almost certainly be uneconomical.
Chrysler produces 503,000 vehicles in Mexico a year at two sites and is heavily dependent on exports to the US, with 86 per cent of its cars sold to US or Canada in 2015.
Mexico’s car industry has blossomed under the North American Free Trade Agreement, with the industry making 3.4m cars a year and automakers from Ford and GM to Nissan and Volkswagen producing vehicles in the country.
But the industry is heavily reliant on access to the US and Canadian markets, accounting for 82 per cent of the country’s 2.7m exports.

Molecular dynamics is one method to approximate the average properties of a chemical system using a Newtonian classical mechanics trajectory through time, using a molecular mechanics energy function. The ergodic hypothesis says that a simulation through sufficiently large time or over sufficiently large space should produce the same results.

This was a collection that did not stray from the brand’s nocturnal DNA, which was expressed in black skirts, asymmetric angles, and hi vis shocks of color. On the evening, five models from across the Next network including Marjan Jonkman, Erik van Gils, Odette Pavlova, Myrthe Bolt, and Lineisy Montero featured in the runway show.

Mitred joints at the corner of a very large mirror or picture frame present some considerable difficulty when they require glueing as there may not be sufficiently large clamps available to use. Pressure needs to be applied across the joint to pull it up tightly, but how to do it? This video shows a simple method using nothing more complicated than F clamps, sandpaper, some corner blocks and a few oddments of plywood.

This tank should be sufficiently large and especially light enough to climb stairs, whatever they are, and even those with nosing. These imposing a great height, see my previous videos. With a length of 85cm and a weight of 2.5kg, I feel I have reached my goal. Furthermore an additional charge of 1kg is possible and will allow additional batteries or any component for a particular application. This 1kg load is a maximum as you can see in my video, it struggles to climb stairs. For the tracks, I used D joint (window joint) as shown in my previous videos. Thank you for your feedback. One of the major bottlenecks in the development of Statistical Machine Translation systems for most language pairs is the lack of bilingual parallel training data. Currently available parallel corpora span relatively few language pairs and very few domains; building new ones of sufficiently large size and high quality is time-consuming and expensive. In this talk, I will present methods that enable automatic creation of parallel corpora by exploiting a rich, diverse, and readily available resource: comparable corpora. Comparable corpora are bilingual texts that, while not parallel in the strict sense, are somewhat related and convey overlapping information. A sufficiently large number of these missiles could overwhelm the most advanced air defenses of that time. The US navy also lacked a long range fighter with a sufficiently large weapon load to intercept and destroy Soviet missiles and aircraft before they got too close to the carrier group. This made them realize the need for a fighter which can fly hundreds of km from the carrier and intercept Soviet bombers and missiles before it was too late.
Grumman engineers tested hundreds of wind tunnel models in various configurations and finally the model which was chosen had a swing wing and twin turbojet engines. The unique feature of these turbojets was that each of the 20,000 pound thrust producing engines were separated by several feet physically. This proved to be an ideal layout as the space between the engines under the fuselage was employed for carrying the massive AIM-54 Phoenix missile and 2000 lb. bombs. This design required a tall tail stabilizer which would hamper movement in the hangars of aircraft carriers. So Grumman opted for a twin tail configuration which allowed the use of short tail stabilizers. Unlike the side by side seating used by the pilot and the radar intercept officer in the F-111, the F-14 featured tandem seating for its 2 man crew which resulted in further streamlining of the aircraft. The final design chosen was the Design 303E

While likely secretly hoping for the status quo, Fiat Chrysler's U.S. CEO, Sergio Marchionne, admitted earlier today that if Trump's import tariffs are "sufficiently large" he would be forced to shutter all of his manufacturing capacity in Mexico as it would be rendered "uneconomical." Per the FT:
Fiat Chrysler may close its Mexican car plants if Donald Trump imposes sufficiently stringent tariffs on vehicles coming into the US, chief executive Sergio Marchionne said on Monday.
“It’s possible that if economic tariffs are imposed…and are sufficiently large, it will make production of anything in mexico uneconomical and we would have to withdraw,” he said in Detroit on Monday. “It’s quite possible.”
As it turns out, purchasing 18mm cars per year, even if those purchases are fueled by a massive subprime auto lending bubble, affords the U.S. some leverage on where those vehicles are manufactured. And, as Marchionne points out, the manufacturing capacity in Mexico was specifically designed and tooled to manufacture vehicles for the U.S. market which means that attempts to "re-purpose" the facilities for the export market would almost certainly be uneconomical.
Chrysler produces 503,000 vehicles in Mexico a year at two sites and is heavily dependent on exports to the US, with 86 per cent of its cars sold to US or Canada in 2015.
Mexico’s car industry has blossomed under the North American Free Trade Agreement, with the industry making 3.4m cars a year and automakers from Ford and GM to Nissan and Volkswagen producing vehicles in the country.
But the industry is heavily reliant on access to the US and Canadian markets, accounting for 82 per cent of the country’s 2.7m exports.

One of the major bottlenecks in the development of Statistical Machine Translation systems for most language pairs is the lack of bilingual parallel training data. Currently available parallel corpora span relatively few language pairs and very few domains; building new ones of sufficiently large size and high quality is time-consuming and expensive. In this talk, I will present methods that enable automatic creation of parallel corpora by exploiting a rich, diverse, and readily available resource: comparable corpora. Comparable corpora are bilingual texts that, while not parallel in the strict sense, are somewhat related and convey overlapping information. Such texts exist in large quantities on the Web; a good example are the multilingual news feeds produced by news agencies such as Agence France Presse, CNN, and BBC. I will present novel methods for extracting good-quality parallel data from such comparable collections. I will show how to detect parallelism at various granularity levels, and thus find parallel documents (if there are any in the collection), parallel sentences, and parallel sub-sentential fragments. In order to demonstrate the validity of this approach, I use my method to extract data from large-scale comparable corpora for various language pairs, and show that the extracted data helps improve the end-to-end performance of a state-of-the art machine translation system.

It forms the tectonic boundary between the Pacific Plate and the North American Plate, and its motion is right-lateral strike-slip (horizontal). Rats of the future could grow to the size of sheep or even bigger as they evolve, experts have warned.
Super-adaptable rodents could take advantage of larger mammals becoming extinct.
In time, rats could grow to be the size of the capybara, the world's largest rodent which can reach 80kg (12st).
'Animals will evolve, over time, into whatever designs will enable them to survive and to produce offspring,' said geologist Dr Jan Zalasiewicz, from the University of Leicester.
'Given enough time, rats could probably grow to be at least as large as the capybara, the world's largest rodent, that lives today [and] can reach 80kg.
'If the ecospace was sufficiently empty, then they could get larger still.'
The largest extinct rodent known, Josephoartegasia monesi, which lived three million years ago, was larger than a bull and weighed over a ton.
A hint of the nightmare to come can be seen on 'rat islands' -- isolated regions where rats introduced by humans have quickly risen to become the dominant species, according to Dr Zalasiewicz.
'So there will be future thin rats, future fat rats, slow and heavy rats, fast and ferocious rats, probably future aquatic rats -- the list goes on,' he added.
