How to Pronounce Precambrian
How to Pronounce Precambrian
Learn how to say Precambrian correctly with EmmaSaying's "how do you pronounce" free tutorials. Definition of Precambrian (oxford dictionary): adjective Geology relating to or denoting the earliest aeon of the earth's history, preceding the Cambrian period and the Phanerozoic aeon. Compare with Cryptozoic. (as noun the Precambrian) the Precambrian aeon or the system of rocks deposited during it. The Precambrian extended from the origin of the earth (believed to have been about 4,600 million years ago) to about 570 million years ago, representing nearly ninety per cent of geological time. The oldest known Precambrian rocks have been dated to about 3,800 million years old, and the earliest living organisms date from the latter part of the aeon. The Precambrian is now replaced in formal stratigraphic schemes by the Archaean, Proterozoic, and (in some schemes) Priscoan aeons http://www.emmasaying.com/ Take a look at my comparison tutorials here: https://www.youtube.com/user/EmmaSaying/videos?view=1 Subscribe to my channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/EmmaSaying- published: 09 Jan 2014

Charnia - a PreCambrian Conundrum
Charnia - a PreCambrian Conundrum
It is only relatively recently that fossils have been found from the PreCambrian Period, in rocks 560 million years old. A group of young geologists visited the British Geological Survey, and were able to examine, and make their own casts of, these amazing fossils. In this video, Megan talks to Charlotte Kenchington, a PhD student and member of the Charnia Research Group, about the importantce of these fossils.- published: 24 Nov 2013
