The Who are an English rock band that formed in 1964. Their classic line-up consisted of lead singer Roger Daltrey, guitarist Pete Townshend, bassist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon. They are considered one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century, selling over 100 million records worldwide and establishing their reputation equally on live shows and studio work.
The Who developed from an earlier group, the Detours, and established themselves as part of the pop art and mod movements, featuring auto-destructive art by destroying guitars and drums on stage. Their first single as the Who, "I Can't Explain", reached the UK top ten, followed by a string of singles including "My Generation", "Substitute" and "Happy Jack". In 1967, they performed at the Monterey Pop Festival and released the US top ten single "I Can See for Miles", while touring extensively. The group's fourth album, 1969's rock opera Tommy, included the single "Pinball Wizard" and was a critical and commercial success. Live appearances at Woodstock and the Isle of Wight Festival, along with the live album Live at Leeds, cemented their reputation as a respected rock act. With their success came increased pressure on lead songwriter and visionary Townshend, and the follow-up to Tommy, Lifehouse, was abandoned. Songs from the project made up 1971's Who's Next, which included the hit "Won't Get Fooled Again". The group released the album Quadrophenia in 1973 as a celebration of their mod roots, and oversaw the film adaptation of Tommy in 1975. They continued to tour to large audiences before semi-retiring from live performances at the end of 1976. The release of Who Are You in 1978 was overshadowed by the death of Moon shortly after.
"Pinball Wizard" is a song written by Pete Townshend and performed by the English rock band The Who, and featured on their 1969 rock opera album Tommy. The original recording was released as a single in 1969 and reached No. 4 in the UK charts and No. 19 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
The B-side of the "Pinball Wizard" single is an instrumental credited to Keith Moon, titled "Dogs (Part Two)". Despite similar titles it has no musical connection to The Who's 1968 UK single "Dogs".
The lyrics are written from the perspective of a pinball champion, called "Local Lad" in the Tommy libretto book, astounded by the skills of the opera's eponymous main character, Tommy Walker: "What makes him so good?; He ain't got no distractions; Can't hear those buzzers and bells; Don't see lights a flashin'; Plays by sense of smell.; Always has a replay; Never tilts at all; That deaf dumb and blind kid; Sure plays a mean pin ball.", and "I thought I was the Bally table king, but I just handed my pinball crown to him".

"See Me, Feel Me" is a single from The Who's 1969 album Tommy. It consists of two overture parts from Tommy, the second and third parts of the album's final song "We're Not Gonna Take It": "See Me, Feel Me" and "Listening To You". It was released as a single in September 1970. The track itself as a single doesn't appear on the 1969 studio version of the album.
The Who performed "See Me, Feel Me", followed by the refrain of "Listening To You", at the 1969 Woodstock Festival. This was captured on film in Woodstock (1970) and The Kids Are Alright (1979). "See Me, Feel Me" was also released as a single in the United States to capitalise on its appearance in the Woodstock film. Entering the charts on 23 September 1970, it reached number 12 on the Pop Singles Chart. It was also released in the United Kingdom but did not chart there.
The band performed this song at the Closing Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games in London on Sunday 12 August 2012, along with "Baba O'Riley" and "My Generation".

This is a genuine bootleg video of ACT ONE of the final performance of THE WHO'S TOMMY on Broadway at the St. James Theater. The VHS tape has been sitting in a basement for the past 15 years, so there are sections that crap out a bit; nonetheless, for you broadway and Tommy enthusiasts this is a VERY RARE treat!

Young men going out and making noise was exactly how one might describe The Who’s raison d’être when they first formed as The Detours, in Shepherd’s Bush, west London, in 1962. Youth, in all its arrogance, was a vital ingredient in those early days, an attitude crystallised three years later on “My Generation” in which they unwittingly provided their future critics with a well-worn taunt in the infamous decree of “hope I die before I get old”. This album is partly in memoriam for Entwistle and partly for those who need reminding of The Who’s matchless contribution to the rock acropolis. Though at the height of their powers The Who prided (and possibly over-indulged) themselves on their albums, it was always the 45rpm pop single that provided the greatest thrills, from the brusqueness o...

This is a compilation album organized by me with some material previously released by The Who Compilation of 13 songs released within their albums, singles or live performances The album name is named ''Best Of The Who'' (I know, a bit lame, but hey I can't do much) and as I always say, enjoy the songs medley, I organized in an enjoyable way In this album case the songs are from the Keith Moon era, before Kenney Jones joined in the band "Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend interviewed on ITV music programme 'Alright Now.' (6 June 1979, Tyne Tees Television)
Deaf, dumb and blind boy
He's in a quiet vibration land
Strange as it seems
His musical dreams, ain't quite so bad
Ten years old with thoughts as bold
As thoughts can be
Loving life and becoming
Wise in simplicity
Sickness will surely take the mind
Where minds can't usually go
Come on the amazing journey
And learn all you should know
A vague haze of delirium creeps up on me
All at once a tall stranger I suddenly see
He's dressed in a silver sparked glittering gown
And his Golden beard flows nearly down to the ground
Nothing to say, nothing to hear
Nothing to see
Each sensation makes
A note in my symphony
Sickness will surely take the mind
Where minds can't usually go
Come on the amazing journey
And learn all you should know
His eyes are the eyes that transmit all they know
Sparkle warm crystalline glances to show
He is your leader, he is your guide
On the amazing journey together you'll ride
