Gran Valira
The Gran Valira (Catalan pronunciation: [ˈɡran bəˈɫiɾə], locally: [ˈɡran baˈliɾa]) is the biggest river in Andorra. It flows through the capital, Andorra la Vella, and exits the country in the south near the Spain–Andorra road border crossing.
The Gran Valira is a tributary to the Segre, which in turn is a tributary to the Ebro. It flows into the Segre in La Seu d'Urgell. Its main tributaries are the Valira d'Orient, the Valira del Nord and the Madriu. The Valira river system is 35 kilometres (22 mi) long.
The map service of the Andorran government calls it the Gran Valira. In certain sources, especially those with a Spanish influence such as maps published in Spain, it is sometimes referred to as the Valira because in the territory of Spain there is only one Valira river. In Andorra, however, there are several different Valiras and hence there is a need to distinguish between them.

GRANDVALIRA, ANDORRA
Grandvalira is the biggest resort in Andorra, with more than 210 km of runs, it has the largest ski domain in the Pyrenees and is credited with covering the most extensive surface area in the South of Europe.
Situated in the Eastern valley of Andorra, Grandvalira offers the choice between seven different sectors, so as to satisfy the most demanding customers. Artificial snow guarantees more than 60% of the ski domain, making winter sports available at any time.
The resort is home to the only run in Andorra where international Alpine ski competitions can be held and Grandvalira has hosted several races of the World cup of skiing. The resort is also a candidate to organize international Alpine ski competitions on its FIS runs.
Whatever the sector of the resort, skiers will always find all the services they need: ski schools, excellent restaurants, nurseries or kindergartens among others. Grandvalira's vast gastronomic offerings will amaze visitors by its choice between over 40 different restaurants and cafeterias, to suit all tastes and budgets.

Brief description about the city:
With more than 210 km of runs, Grandvalira has the largest ski domain in the Pyrenees and is credited with covering the most extensive surface area in the South of Europe. Situated in the Eastern valley of Andorra, Grandvalira offers the choice between seven different sectors, so as to satisfy the most demanding customers. Artificial snow guarantees more than 60% of the ski domain, making winter sports available at any time. The resort is home to the only run in Andorra where international Alpine ski competitions can be held -one of the few in the Pyrenees. Grandvalira has hosted several races of the World cup and is a candidate to organize international Alpine ski competitions on its FIS homologated runs. Whatever the sector of the resort, skiers will always find all the services they need: ski schools, excellent restaurants, nurseries or kindergartens among others. Grandvalira's vast gastronomic offer will amaze visitors by its choice between over 40 different restaurants and cafeterias, to suit all tastes and budgets.
