FDA released "deeming regulations" today. Dimitris is joined by Dr. Gilbert Ross to discuss the chilling effects of these regulations and what you can do to make your voice heard. Dr. Gilbert Ross is the Medical Director at the American Council for Science and Health. More Information @ http://www.acsh.org ACSH Mission Statement: The American Council on Science and Health was founded in 1978 by a group of scientists who had become concerned that many important public policies related to health and the environment did not have a sound scientific basis. These scientists created the organization to add reason and balance to debates about public health issues and to bring common sense views to the public. Again, It feels strange continuing on "business as usual" when these incredibly serious regulations are dropping from the FDA. Which is why i felt compelled to say something. This is a serious serious thing. It's worse for all of us than I think most people realize. I'm not trying to create a panic, or a frenzy. I'm trying to create awareness as to how damaging this will be for vaping. The FDA really really want's us to smoke cigarettes, and really really wants vaping to be run by big tobacco. I for one, won't stand for it. Plot

The Food and Drug Administration has announced a new series of regulations to control e-cigarettes and cigars. Other tobacco products will also be affected by these new rulings.
The FDA already regulated cigarettes, bulk and smokeless tobacco. The new announcement extends their power to control electronic cigarettes, hookahs and all pipe tobacco.
Under the new regulations, purchasers of any of these products will need to be at least 18 years old. Some states may establish higher age limits. The agency will also need to approve any advertising claiming reduced risk from tobacco use.
Free samples from tobacco manufacturers and distributors would be prohibited, and all companies selling tobacco products will need to register with the FDA.
The FDA regulations are subject to a 75-day waiting period, during which the agency will collect feedback from the public.
Tobacco sales from vending machines will be prohibited. Packaging for all affected products will be required, warning users of health risks. When new rules go into effect, warnings about addiction wold be the only mandatory labels on e-cigarettes.
Vaporizers contain a small amount of nicotine in liquid form. When a user presses a button, the sample is heated until some of the material converts into vapor. These devices have not yet been subject to federal regulation, a situation which FDA commissioner Margaret Hamburg described as "the wild, wild, west."
The government official worries that e-cigarettes "might be a gateway to other harmful tobacco products" for young people.
According to the Centers for Disease Control, during February, there were 215 calls to poison centers nationwide involving e-cigarettes. Just over 100 of these calls involved minors, Hamburg told the press. There are roughly 80 million people under the age of 19 living in the United States, and 42 million adult smokers.
The FDA commissioner stated, "We think that there's a lot of information that needs to be understood about e-cigarettes and their use. We're trying to help provide some of that information through research that we're conducting."

KILT Studios manipulated the Skin pull and the replaced the side of her face from the prosthetic application. The skin texture before the pull as well the texture that sits behind her after the pull all were created in post.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or USFDA) is an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, one of the United States federal executive departments. The FDA is responsible for protecting and promoting public health through the regulation and supervision of food safety, tobacco products, dietary supplements, prescription and over-the-counter pharmaceutical drugs (medications), vaccines, biopharmaceuticals, blood transfusions, medical devices, electromagnetic radiation emitting devices (ERED), veterinary products, and cosmetics.
The FDA also enforces other laws, notably Section 361 of the Public Health Service Act and associated regulations, many of which are not directly related to food or drugs. These include sanitation requirements on interstate travel and control of disease on products ranging from certain household pets to sperm donation for assisted reproduction.
The FDA is led by the Commissioner of Food and Drugs, appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate. The Commissioner reports to the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The 21st and current Commissioner is Dr. Margaret A. Hamburg. She has served as Commissioner since February 2009.
