Marc Zwiebler (German pronunciation: [ˈmaʁk ˈtsviːblɐ]) (born 13 March 1984) is a male badminton player from Germany. He is currently ranked number 16 in the world, the fourth highest-ranked European player, reigning European Champion, German champion and German number 1. He is a six-time German national champion in men's singles. He won gold at the 2012 European Championships in Karlskrona over Henri Hurskainen 21–15, 21–13. 2010 he won bronze behind Peter Gade and Jan Ø. Jørgensen. By reaching the third round at the 2008 Olympics and the final participation at the 2009 Denmark Open, one of the premier tournament competition series BWF Super Series, Zwiebler was Germany's top badminton player of all time.

Zwiebler began at the age of six years to play badminton. Soon he was regarded as the biggest German talent. He was 19 times German youth and junior champion in 2003 he became European junior champion and won his first international title at the senior.

2005 he was plagued by pain in the back, he thought of an ordinary sore muscles until the pain had worsened significantly and he could no longer play just before Christmas 2005. The diagnosis of herniated disc, his career was in jeopardy and thus moved from his dream of participating at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing in further distance. After an operation in late 2006 and six months of rehabilitation and fitness training with a total of one and a half year absence he started to chase after the Olympic qualification. After the enforced break he was given no more in the world ranking, but within eight months he fought his way, including six European Badminton Circuit titles in 27th place in the world ranking and gave themselves enough to make participation at the Olympics.

Yuhan Tan (born 21 April 1987 in Bilzen, Belgium) is a male left-handed badminton player from Belgium. He is a 5 time Belgian Champion in men's singles category. In 2008 he was the 2nd youngest men's singles player to qualify for the 2008 Olympics according to the BWF (badminton world federation) criteria. However the Belgian Olympic Committee didn't select him and he was therefor not able to compete. Yuhan is also a medical student at the University of Maastricht.

Viktor Axelsen (born January 4, 1994 in Odense) is a badminton player from Denmark. He was the 2010 World Junior Champion, beating Korea's Kang Ji-wook in the final to become the first ever European player to hold the title. In 2011, he lost the title to Malaysia's Zulfadli Zulkiffli, coming in second place.

In October 2010 he claimed his first international senior title at the age of just sixteen, winning the Cyprus International. A few weeks later he entered his first Super Series event in singles, the Denmark Open 2010; making it through the qualifying stages before losing out to compatriot and eventual winner Jan Ø. Jørgensen in the second round.

Axelsen secured gold at the European Junior Championships, defeating teammate Rasmus Fladberg 21-8 17-21 21-13 in the final.

Ella Diehl (Russian: Элла Диль), née Karachkova (Russian: Карачкова) (born 5 August 1978) is a female badminton player from Russia.

She played at the 2005 World Badminton Championships in Anaheim. In the women's singles event she reached the second round before losing to Salakjit Ponsana of Thailand.

In December 2005 Ella won the women's singles event at the Scottish International Open in Glasgow and 2 weeks later followed this up by winning the women's singles event at the Irish International in Lisburn. The next year she won the Irish International again.

In 2010 Ella won bronze medal at the European Individual Championships in Manchester England and in June 2010 claimed the European Tour circuit finals gold medal beating Susan Egelstaff in the final in three sets. 2010 also saw Ella beat current world champion Lu Lan of China to reach the Semi final of Swiss Open Super Series.

In her home country Russia she won 14 national titles until 2009.
