Roopa (or Rupa) Ganguly (Bengali: রূপা গঙ্গোপাধ্যায়, rupa gônggopaddhae; born 25 November 1966) is an Indian actress, playback singer and politician. She became popular after playing Mahabharat heroine character Draupadi in the hit television series Mahabharat (1988), and is mostly known for her roles in films like Padma Nadir Majhi (1993) by Gautam Ghose, Yugant (1995) by Aparna Sen, and Antarmahal (2006) by Rituparno Ghosh. In 2015 she joined Bharatiya Janta Party.
Roopa Ganguly was born in Kalyani near Kolkata, West Bengal, India. She grew up in a joint family. She was a student of Beltala Girls' High School, from which she finished her secondary examination (Madhyamik Pariksha). Later, she obtained a bachelor's degree from the Jogamaya Devi College, an affiliated undergraduate women's college of University of Calcutta, in Kolkata.
Ganguly was married to Dhrubo Mukerjee from 1992 until 2006. In an interview Ganguly said that her husband started feeling insecure about her recognition as an actress. Her son Akash was born in 1997. She was also in a live-in relationship with her singer companion, Dibyendu. The couple lived in Ganguly's Mumbai flat until the end of their relationship. Her appearance in the concluding episode of STAR Plus's hit reality show, Sacch Ka Saamna (2009), the Indian adaptation of the British reality show, The Moment of Truth, created a media stir.
Dharamdev Anand (26 September 1923 – 3 December 2011), better known as Dev Anand, was an Indian film actor, writer, director and producer known for his work in Hindi cinema. Part of the Anand family, he co-founded Navketan Films in 1949 with his elder brother Chetan Anand. Anand is regarded as one of the influential actors in the history of Indian cinema.
The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2002 for his contribution to Indian cinema. His career spanned more than 65 years with acting in 114 Hindi films, of which 92 have him play the main solo lead hero, and he did two English films.
Dev was born Dharamdev Anand on 26 September 1923 in the Shakargarh tehsil of the Gurdaspur district in Punjab (British India) (present-day Narowal district of Pakistan). His father Pishori Lal Anand was a well-to-do advocate. Dev was the third of four sons born to Pishori Lal Anand. One of Dev's younger sisters is Sheela Kanta Kapur, who is mother of Shekhar Kapur. His older brothers were Manmohan Anand (Advocate, Gurdaspur Dist. Court) and Chetan Anand and younger one was Vijay Anand. Dev Anand spent his early years in Gharota village Gurdaspur. He did his schooling till matriculation from Sacred Heart School, Dalhousie, (then in Punjab) and went to college Dharamsala before going to Lahore to study. Later Dev completed BA degree in English Literature from the Government College, Lahore in British India.
Kader Khan is an Indian film actor, comedian, script and dialogue writer, as well as director. He has appeared in over 300 films after his debut in the 1973 film Daag in which he acted as a prosecuting attorney. Khan graduated from Ismail Yusuf College affiliated to Bombay University. Before entering the film industry in the early 1970s, he taught at M. H. Saboo Siddik College of Engineering, Mumbai as a professor of Civil Engineering.
Khan was born in Kabul, Afghanistan. His father was Abdul Rehman Khan from Kandahar while his mother was Iqbal Begum from Pishin, British India (now in Balochistan, Pakistan). Khan had three brothers Shams ur Rehman, Fazal Rehman and Habib ur Rehman. He is an ethnic Pashtun of the Kakar tribe. He is a Haffiz-e-Quran.
He enrolled in a local municipal school and later in the Ismail Yusuf College after which he obtained a Master's Diploma in Engineering (MIE) from the Institution of Engineers (India) specializing in Civil engineering. Between 1970 and 1975, he taught at M. H. Saboo Siddik College of Engineering in Byculla as teacher of civil engineering.

Bappi Lahiri (Born Alokesh Lahiri on 27 November 1952) is a music composer in the Indian film industry. He popularized the use of synthesized disco music in Indian cinema and sang some of his own compositions. He was popular in the 1980s and 1990s with filmi soundtracks like Wardat, Disco Dancer, Namak Halaal, Dance Dance, Commando, Gang Leader, Sailaab and Sharaabi among others.
Bappi Lahiri joined BJP in 2014. He was declared a BJP candidate from Srirampur in West Bengal for the Indian general election, 2014 and lost.
Bappi D. Lahiri was born in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. His parents, Aparesh Lahiri and Bansari Lahiri both from Jalpaiguri, West Bengal were famous Bengali singer and musician in classical music and Shyama Sangeet. He is their only child.
