As athletes, we travel all over the world, and to see the Canadian flag being raised for us when we win a medal or when we represent our country around the world, it is very proud feeling. It reminds us of our home base, our friends, our family, the people who are supporting us, who encourage us. It was very exciting for my teammates and I when we won the national curling championships and after we won, the national anthem played 00 01.18 (1 second) and the Canadian flag rose and we knew we would be wearing the Maple Leaf at the World Championships. For me, it's like a symbol of my identity of being Canadian. You know, I see the Canadian flag, I feel at home, I feel welcomed. So for me, it's that symbol of feeling nice and feeling great. Ya! Ya! 00 01.53 And, ah for me, the Canadian flag represents all our values, you know, that we are very accepted. And throughout the world, people look at Canada as a safe place to be.
