Loveline is a syndicated radio call-in program in North America, offering medical and relationship advice to listeners, often with the assistance of guests, typically actors and musicians. Its flagship station is KROQ-FM in Los Angeles.
Currently, Loveline is broadcast live, Sundays through Thursdays at 10pm–12am PT (Mondays through Fridays at 1am–3am ET). Syndication is usually on rock, alternative, and adult talk radio stations. Loveline can also be heard online anywhere in the world, by streaming through the websites of affiliate stations. Selected episodes are made available on Westwood One's website.
Loveline began in 1983 as a Sunday night dating and relationships segment on Los Angeles radio station KROQ-FM, hosted by DJ Jim "Poorman" Trenton, DJ Swedish Egil (Egil Aalvik), and Scott Mason. After a traumatic break up, Mason announced that he would no longer be hosting the show.
In 1984, Trenton added a segment called "Ask a Surgeon," hosted by his friend Dr. Drew Pinsky, who at the time, was a fourth-year medical student at the University of Southern California. The medical segment was pre-dated by an occasional legal segment in which a lawyer would be present to answer legal questions. As Loveline developed and increased its audience, Pinsky became a public figure in his own right, and the show began referring to him informally as "Dr. Drew". He eventually came to co-host the show with Trenton. In February 1992, the show expanded from Sunday nights to five nights a week, Sunday through Thursday. In August 1993 Trenton was replaced by former MTV VJ Riki Rachtman.

My friend's addicted to cocaine
smokes day and night
drives mom and pop insane.
Living his life in the dark light
every dollar he gets goes into the pipe.
He wants to borrow some money from me
do you think I'm blind
don't know the score
can't see?
You wanna get high as the sky
(You're kissin' your life goodbye) You're kissin' your life goodbye
(You think it's a game) You think it's a game that you play
(But the winners lose) But the winners lose it all someday.
Ya don't know who you are
are you losin' your mind?
Things get a little tight he committed a crime.
Give me your money or give me your life!
You better empty your pockets because ya,

You wanna get high as the sky
(You're kissin' your life goodbye) You're kissin' your life goodbye
(You think it's a game) You think it's a game that you play

If you ever need me
Call me on your phone line
You've got my number if you ever want me
I’m your lifeline
And if you're ever lonely
I’m your love-line
If you ever feel sad
Need someone to hold you
when no one knows you or understands you
I do
Cos no one means as much, girl
As you do
Take your time, it’s just my heart you’re breaking
I don’t mind, though my whole world is shaking
I’ll be fine
I’m sitting by my window
Wondering where you are now
If ever it should rain
Just remember there’s a rainbow
Cos someone thinks about you
Wherever you go
Take your time, it’s just my heart you’re breaking
I don’t mind, though my whole world is shaking
I’ll be fine, I’m your lifeline
If you ever need me
Call me on your phone line
You've got my number if you ever want me
I’m your lifeline
And if you're ever lonely
I’m your love-line
Take your time, it’s just my heart you’re breaking
I don’t mind, though my whole world is shaking
I’ll be fine, Baby I’m your love-line
Baby, I’m your love-line
Oh baby, I’m your lifeline
Baby, I’m your love-line
Mmm baby, I’m your lifeline
I'm so glad that I met you, baby
And I'm so proud when we walk down the street
And I know it's crazy to worry like I do
But I get this feelin' that I'm losing you
(chorus)
I get these suspicions
Even though I know that you love me, baby
And I really shouldn't feel this way
Ooh, suspicions
I can't help it you're just so good lookin'
I'm afraid somebody's gonna
steal you away from me
When I go out to a party with you
You always turn every head in the room
And I just know what's on every man's mind
I try to fight it, but it gets me sometimes
(chorus)
(instrumental)
Ooh, suspicions
When I'm with you, I feel so satisfied
The way you touch me when you lay by my side
And that look you get in your eyes when we love
Makes me hate myself for what I'm thinkin' of
(chorus)
Suspicions
Even though I know that you love me, baby
And I really shouldn't feel this way
Suspicions
I can't help it you're just so good lookin'
I'm afraid somebody's gonna steal you away from me
Suspicions
Even though I know that you love me, baby
And I really shouldn't feel this way...
