the interview show: Ryan Hemsworth 2014
When I met DJ and electronic music producer Ryan Hemsworth outside the club, he had just gotten handed a large brown paper bag. Ok… I wasn’t quite sure what kind of deal I had accidentally walked into, so I decided to roll with it and we did the interview in an especially shady parking lot. It seemed like the perfect place to release all my lingering questions.
Listen to my chat with Ryan Hemsworth for the answers to these following questions… What was in that brown paper bag? What was the last song that got him super emotional? Why has he marked all my emails as SPAM? And more!
the interview show with Ryan Hemsworth Listen to my chat with this shy guy.
Ryan Hemsworth “Still Cold” (ft. Baths) For his current record Guilt Trip, Hemsworth just started emailing his pal’s for collaborations.
Ryan Hemsworth “Against A Wall” (ft. Lofty 305) Lofty 305 is known for very raunchy and sexual lyrics, but this collab brought out a new side of this rapper.

The Game – How We Do (Robin Carnage Remix)
Van/Ten A Key’s Robin Carnage takes on The Game’s second single “How We Do” featuring 50 Cent from his debut album The Documentary. The original was quite the success being produced by Dr. Dre and Robin gives it his nice touch adding a very thick and emotional flare to the 2004 classic. Stream or download above!

Tough Lovers’ Second Annual ALS Fundraiser
Building off the success of the 2013 edition of the event, which raised over $5,500, Vancouver’s independent music community will be coming together to raise money for the ALS Society of BC on Thursday, May 1.
The event is organized by local indie rock stalwarts Tough Lovers, who will be headlining the event and playing new material from their forthcoming full-length. Joining them on stage will be upstart rock n roll outfit Smash Boom Pow. In addition to that, there will be silent auction with offerings from Cavalier: The Fine Jewellery Shoppe, Union Wood Co., JD’s Barbershop, Vancouver Urban Winery, Nuba, and more.
The cause is one that is near and dear to Tough Lovers as two members of the band have had their families touched by the horrific disease.
“Jamie and I both lost an Uncle to Lou Gehrig’s disease and this is the best way for us to contribute to raise money and awareness. The Vancouver music community is incredibly supportive, so if it’s anything like last year it should be an exceptional party,“ says Dane Stevens of the Tough Lovers.
Come out on Thursday, May 1 and enjoy some great music while supporting an important cause. Together we can improve the quality of life of people suffering from ALS and, one day, find a cure.
Thursday May 1, 2014
Fox Cabaret 2321 Main Street
Doors at 8pm
Advance tickets are $15
Tickets are available at Cavalier: The Fine Jewellery Shoppe (217 – 207 West Hastings) or online at www.toughlovers.com

School Boy Q – Man Of The Year (Juan Ton Bootleg)
Local Electric Input member Juan Ton drops quite the different flip to School Boy Q’s second single “Man Of The Year” from Oxymoron. The original obviously being a great Hip-Hop track; Juan takes it to a place most didn’t think the original would fit into but he does the song justice for a club/dance bootleg.
