Darcy Michael

Darcy Michael is a Canadian actor and stand-up comedian, best known for his role in the Canadian television sitcom Spun Out.

Career

Nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award in 2010 for his appearance at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, he filmed his own half-hour special for The Comedy Network series Comedy Now! the same year. His career as a comedian significantly took off with his 2012 comedy special One Skinny Bitch, which was released as a direct download and in DVD format. The special, taped at Yuk Yuk's in Toronto, Ontario, centred in part on his experience losing over 120 pounds after a health scare. Around the same time, he also filmed several episodes of a proposed talk show, The Skinny, interviewing guests including Alan Thicke, Caroline Rhea, Judy Gold, David Steinberg and Harland Williams.

In 2014, he was a finalist in Sirius XM Canada's Top Comic competition, and received a second Canadian Comedy Award nomination as Best Breakout Artist.

He has also performed at the Halifax Comedy Festival,Just for Laughs,Calgary Pride,Vancouver Pride and Toronto Pride, appears frequently on the CBC Radio One comedy series The Debaters and the Comedy Network edition of Match Game, and has had several stage roles in theatre productions in Vancouver.

Michael D'Arcy

Michael D'Arcy (born 7 March 1934) is a former Irish Fine Gael politician, and a former TD for the Wexford constituency.

He was first elected to Dáil Éireann at the 1977 general election and held it until the 1987 general election when he lost it to Brendan Howlin of the Labour Party. He was re-elected at the 1989 general election at the expense of party colleague Avril Doyle but she regained her seat at the 1992 general election. He was then elected to the 20th Seanad on the Agricultural Panel.

At the 1997 general election, D'Arcy was returned to the 28th Dáil, again unseating Avril Doyle. He lost his seat again at the 2002 general election, this time to the independent candidate Liam Twomey, who later joined Fine Gael.

In 1981, in Garret FitzGerald's first government, D'Arcy was appointed a Minister of State for Agriculture in the 22nd Dáil. In the 1982–1987 FitzGerald government he was Minister of State for Fisheries until his removal in February 1986 to allow a reshuffle.

Darcy Tucker

Darcy Tucker (born March 15, 1975) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player, who played most of his National Hockey League career with the Toronto Maple Leafs. A sixth round draft choice, Tucker began his NHL career with the Montreal Canadiens. Throughout his NHL career he also played for the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Colorado Avalanche. Tucker was born in Castor, Alberta, but grew up in Endiang, Alberta.

Playing career

Tucker is one of three players, along with Tyson Nash and Ryan Huska, that were a part of all three Kamloops Blazers Memorial Cup wins in 1992, 1994 and 1995. In 1996, while playing for the Fredericton Canadiens, he won the Dudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Award as the top rookie of the American Hockey League.

Tucker was drafted in the sixth round (151st overall) by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. He was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning with Stéphane Richer and David Wilkie for Patrick Poulin, Igor Ulanov and Mick Vukota in 1998, where he played for three seasons before being traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2000 for Mike Johnson.

Michael Peca

Michael Anthony "Mike" Peca (born March 26, 1974) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey forward of the National Hockey League (NHL). He played for the Vancouver Canucks, Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders, Edmonton Oilers, Toronto Maple Leafs and the Columbus Blue Jackets. Peca currently is the general manager and director of hockey operations for the Buffalo Jr. Sabres, a Junior A hockey team owned by the Sabres, one of two teams he captained.

Playing career

Peca began his junior career with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) after they selected him in the first round of the 1990 player draft. He was traded to the Ottawa 67's where he blossomed into one of the league's top offensive players. He was drafted in the second round, 40th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft.

Peca has twice won the Frank J. Selke Trophy for being the best defensive forward, in 1996–97 and 2001–02. Peca captained the Buffalo Sabres to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1999. His nickname was "Captain Crunch" because of his penchant for delivering bone-crushing open ice hits.
