March 2021 – The journey of a cruise ship begins long before it sets sail with guests around the world. At Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, every Royal Caribbean International cruise ship built in the last 20 years has first needed to make its way 20 miles (32 kilometers) down the narrow Ems River, while backward, to reach the ocean. This winding adventure called “conveyance” is a process unique to the ships built at the leading shipyard, which is located inland for protection from storms in the North Sea. Watch how it’s done and hear the details about this major cruise ship milestone from the captains, engineers and experts who have managed to flawlessly take these ships, as large as 1,138 feet long (346 meters) and 136 feet wide (41 meters), out to the open sea throughout the years. Huge cruise news and updates as the CDC Conditional Sail Order has had some BIG changes! In addition, this has been a big week for major cruise updates as cruise lines have announced more cruise cancellations, including some that were unexpected. In this video we talk about the latest news about Alaska, CDC requirements for cruise passengers and Royal Caribbean's Odyssey of the Seas (and what's happening).
CDC has updated the Conditional Sailing Order and has now issued new guidance for vaccinated passengers and some cruises that will restart in the US. This includes changes to the rule for masks on cruises, shore excursions, testing passengers before embarkation and disembarkation. We also go over some very good news in the new rules from CDC which is about Back to Back cruises.
Have you been wondering about test cruises and when they will happen, and how? We go over some cruise information in this video.
Alaska has been in the news and it looks like Alaska cruises just might happen in 2021!

Royal (sail)
A royal is a small sail flown immediately above the topgallant on square rigged sailing ships. It was originally called the "topgallant royal" and was used in light and favorable winds.
Royal sails were normally found only on larger ships with masts tall enough to accommodate the extra canvas. Royals were introduced around the turn of the 18th century, but were not usually flown on the mizzenmast until the end of that century. It gave its name to a Dutch term for a light breeze—the Royal Sail Breeze or bovenbramzeilskoelte was a Force 2 wind on the Beaufort Scale.

The Royal Papua Yacht Club held its traditional ceremony, the Commodore’s Sail today under the clear blue sky at the Fairfax Harbor in Port Moresby.
The annual event as usual signified the opening of the sailing season which will be hosted by RPYC.
A significant representation from powered boats to canoes and others joined in the action.

At Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, every Royal Caribbean International cruise ship built in the last 20 years has first needed to make its way 20 miles (32 kilometers) down the narrow Ems River, while backward, to reach the ocean. This winding adventure called “conveyance” is a process unique to the ships built at the leading shipyard, which is located inland for protection from storms in the North Sea. Huge cruise news and updates as the CDC Conditional Sail Order has had some BIG changes! In addition, this has been a big week for major cruise updates as cruise lines have announced more cruise cancellations, including some that were unexpected. In this video we talk about the latest news about Alaska, CDC requirements for cruise passengers and Royal Caribbean's Odyssey of the Seas (and what's happening).
CDC has updated the Conditional Sailing Order and has now issued new guidance for vaccinated passengers and some cruises that will restart in the US. This includes changes to the rule for masks on cruises, shore excursions, testing passengers before embarkation and disembarkation. We also go over some very good news in the new rules from CDC which is about Back to Back cruises.
Have you been wondering about test cruises and when they will happen, and how? We go over some cruise information in this video.

March 2021 – The journey of a cruise ship begins long before it sets sail with guests around the world. At Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, every Royal Caribbean International cruise ship built in the last 20 years has first needed to make its way 20 miles (32 kilometers) down the narrow Ems River, while backward, to reach the ocean. This winding adventure called “conveyance” is a process unique to the ships built at the leading shipyard, which is located inland for protection from storms in the North Sea. Watch how it’s done and hear the details about this major cruise ship milestone from the captains, engineers and experts who have managed to flawlessly take these ships, as large as 1,138 feet long (346 meters) and 136 feet wide (41 meters), out to the open sea throughout the years. To date, Royal Caribbean’s 169,000-gross-ton Odyssey of the Seas is the largest ship to complete the process, along with sister ships Quantum, Anthem, Ovation and Spectrum of the Seas. Huge cruise news and updates as the CDC Conditional Sail Order has had some BIG changes! In addition, this has been a big week for major cruise updates as cruise lines have announced more cruise cancellations, including some that were unexpected. In this video we talk about the latest news about Alaska, CDC requirements for cruise passengers and Royal Caribbean's Odyssey of the Seas (and what's happening).
CDC has updated the Conditional Sailing Order and has now issued new guidance for vaccinated passengers and some cruises that will restart in the US. This includes changes to the rule for masks on cruises, shore excursions, testing passengers before embarkation and disembarkation. We also go over some very good news in the new rules from CDC which is about Back to Back cruises.

Royal (sail)
A royal is a small sail flown immediately above the topgallant on square rigged sailing ships. It was originally called the "topgallant royal" and was used in light and favorable winds.
Royal sails were normally found only on larger ships with masts tall enough to accommodate the extra canvas. Royals were introduced around the turn of the 18th century, but were not usually flown on the mizzenmast until the end of that century. It gave its name to a Dutch term for a light breeze—the Royal Sail Breeze or bovenbramzeilskoelte was a Force 2 wind on the Beaufort Scale.
