John Carnell Crosbie, PC, OC, ONL, QC (born January 30, 1931) is a retired provincial and federal politician who served as the 12th Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Crosbie has served as a provincial Cabinet minister under premiers Joey Smallwood and Frank Moores as well as a federal Cabinet minister during the governments of Joe Clark and Brian Mulroney.
Crosbie ran unsuccessfully for the leadership of the Liberal Party of Newfoundland and Labrador in 1969, losing to Smallwood, and was also a candidate in the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada's 1983 leadership election, placing third. As a Cabinet minister under Mulroney, Crosbie was known to be outspoken and controversial.
Born in pre-Confederation St. John's Newfoundland, he is the son of Chesley Crosbie and the grandson of Sir John Chalker Crosbie, both prominent businessmen. His father was leader of the Economic Union Party in the 1940s and a leading opponent of the campaign for Newfoundland to join Canadian Confederation.
John is a common English name and surname:

The hurdy-gurdy is a stringed instrument that produces sound by a crank-turned, rosined wheel rubbing against the strings. The wheel functions much like a violin bow, and single notes played on the instrument sound similar to those of a violin. Melodies are played on a keyboard that presses tangents — small wedges, typically made of wood — against one or more of the strings to change their pitch. Like most other acoustic stringed instruments, it has a sound board to make the vibration of the strings audible.
Most hurdy-gurdies have multiple drone strings, which give a constant pitch accompaniment to the melody, resulting in a sound similar to that of bagpipes. For this reason, the hurdy-gurdy is often used interchangeably or along with bagpipes, particularly in Occitan, Catalan, Sardinian, Cajun French and contemporary Galician and Hungarian folk music.
Many folk music festivals in Europe feature music groups with hurdy-gurdy players. The most famous annual festival has been held since 1976 at Saint-Chartier in the Indre département in Central France. In 2009, it relocated nearby to the Château d'Ars at La Châtre, where it continues to take place during the week nearest July 14 (Bastille Day).
Sheila Maureen Copps, PC OC, (born November 27, 1952) is a former Canadian politician who also served as Deputy Prime Minister of Canada from November 4, 1993, to April 30, 1996, and June 19, 1996, to June 11, 1997. Her father, Victor Copps is former Mayor of Hamilton, Ontario
Considered a prominent left-wing member of the Liberal Party of Canada, Copps was an advocate for legal rights of women, Marijuana legalization, minority rights, and protection of the environment. Her combative style and reputation for flamboyance were trademarks of her political career.
On November 10, 2014, Copps stated that she has been sexually assaulted and raped and one of the incidents happened while she was serving in the Provincial Parliament of Ontario. She said she felt compelled to come forward with the allegations after tweeting support for former Q host Jian Ghomeshi.
Copps was born in Hamilton, Ontario. She is a second-generation member of a political family that has dominated Hamilton-area politics on the municipal, provincial and federal levels. Her mother, Geraldine Florence (Guthro) Copps, was a Hamilton city councillor. Her father, Victor Kennedy Copps, was one of the most influential mayors of the City of Hamilton. She attended Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School. She is married to Austin Thorne (her third husband), and has one daughter, Danelle (from her second marriage). She was the first sitting Member of Parliament in Canadian history to give birth.

John Crosbie the sleveen! "Why are you yelling at me? I didn't take the fish from the God damn water, so don't go abusing me." His Honour The Honourable John Crosbie is a traveler, an art lover, and, most recently, the Lieutenant Governor of Newfoundland & Labrador. He's been involved in politics since 1966, in city, then in the provincial, then federal government. He likes to say his wife retired him from politics, but half way through a five year stint representing the Queen, he certainly seems to be enjoying himself.

Hurdy Gurdy Man is a portrait of the life and work of Pat Herbert. Pat is a lifelong collector of vintage radios and gramophones, and over the past 60 years, he has amased a wonderful collection of everything from the earliest morse code inkers, to gramophones and radios which pre date both world wars. In 2003, Pat decided to display his collection to the public and established the Ye Olde Hurdy Gurdy Museum of Vintage Radio, which resides in the Martello Tower overlooking Howth Harbour, in County Dublin. In 2013, I approached Pat with the idea making this short profile and he gladly agreed. In the film, Pat talks about his life, where his obsession with radio began, and what keeps him driven and passionate about all things radio and gramophone related. By Steve Bartlett John Crosbie wasn't keen on being lieutenant-governor. "In fact, at first I said, no, I wasn't interested when the prime minister asked me, but I changed my mind," he says. "And my two sons got their hands on me and said, 'What's wrong with you? You're being offered something after 27 years in public life. You should be willing to accept it.' So, I said, 'Look here, boys, I know what's troubling you. You're just getting worried you're going to have to support me in my old age.'"

Ich sterbe
Jesus Christus,
