Mark Warawa (born May 7, 1950) is a Canadian politician. Formerly a businessman and loss prevention officer as well as a city councillor in Abbotsford, British Columbia from 1990 to 2004, Warawa has been the Member of Parliament for Langley since 2004.

On February 10, 2006, Warawa was named parliamentary secretary to the Minister of the Environment. Less recently, he served as a member of the Standing Committee on Justice, Human Rights, Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.

He and his wife, Diane, live in Langley and have five children. His son Ryan was the Conservative candidate in Vancouver East in the 2008 election, losing to Libby Davies of the NDP.

Warawa is a Local Government Area in Kano State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Warawa on the A237 highway.

It has an area of 360 km² and a population of 128,787 at the 2006 census.

Nathan Cullen (born July 13, 1972) is a Canadian federal politician. He is the Member of Parliament for the riding of Skeena—Bulkley Valley and a member of the New Democratic Party. While he was raised in Toronto and worked for several years in Central and South America, he moved to Smithers, British Columbia in 1998 working as a private consultant. He entered politics in 2004, as the NDP candidate challenging the Conservative Party incumbent Andy Burton. Cullen won the 2004 election and was re-elected in 2006, 2008, and 2011, allowing him to serve as a Member of Parliament in the 38th, 39th, 40th, and 41st Parliaments. Cullen introduced several private member's bills, though none were adopted, such as the Phthalate Control Act and the Canada's Clean Air and Climate Change Act in the 39th Parliament, as well as the Bicycle Path Promotion Act and An Act to amend the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, 1999 in the 40th Parliament. He was a candidate in the 2012 New Democratic Party leadership election, and came in third. On April 20, 2012 Cullen was named House Leader for the Official Opposition in Thomas Mulcair's first Shadow Cabinet Shuffle.

Douglas Turner Day III (1 May 1932-10 October 2004) was an American novelist, biographer, scholar and critic. He was a popular professor of English literature^{[clarification needed]} at the University of Virginia, where he taught almost four decades.

Douglas Day was born in Colón, Panama. The son of a US Navy offficer, he served as a fighter pilot in the US Marine Corps in the early 1950s. He took three degrees at the University of Virginia before joining the English faculty there in 1962.

Day taught at the University of Virginia for 38 years; he was an early advocate of studying contemporary Hispanic and Latin American writers and literature. His study of the poetry of Robert Graves, his first book of literary criticism, won the Phi Beta Kappa Prize for scholarly writing in 1963. Fluent in Spanish, he also edited a collection of plays by Federico Garcia Lorca.

Day documented the turbulent life of English novelist Malcolm Lowry, the alcoholic author of Under the Volcano. For that he shared the 1974 National Book Award in Biography. Previously, he and Lowry's widow Margerie edited the novelist's posthumous collection Dark as the Grave Wherein My Friend is Laid (1969).
