Scythian heritage of Ukraine. Digor (Alanian) song. Digors are archaic branch of Ossetians. Digor dialect is the closest to the ancient Scythian-Sarmatian (Alanian) language. * Porata (Prut, river in Ukraine) means "big river" in Scytho-Sarmatian * Dnister = Dan-Ister (River Ister) * Dnieper, originally Danapr = Dan (Scythian for "river") + Apr (Scythian for "deep water"), literally deep river. * Zarvanytsya (Ukrainian Marian center) from zarvan, Scytho-Sarmatian (Zoroastrian) deity. Hence Zarvanites, branch in Zoroastrianism. * Ukraine´s Sudak, Saky, Artopolot, Samara, Donuzlav, Kaffa, Pantikapey, Don, like words Boh (God), ray (paradise), dbaty (care), khata (house), mara (ghost), maryty (to dream) are all Scythian / Sarmatian terms. * Horvatae (White or Carpathian Croats, west Ukrainian tribe) is also Scythian term, means "messengers of the sun" (hor is sun). * Catalonia = Goth+alania! (Ukraine´s Alans invaded Spain!) Ukrainian fricative letter (г) "h" that is the major feature of Ukrainian pronunciation (not found and unknown in Polish, Russian and Balkan Slavic tongues) is not Slavic. This sound (usually marked as "gh") came into Ukrainian from Scythian / Sarmatian / Alanian language. Eastern Scythian languages (digor-ossetian, scythian, sarmatian, khorezmian, jassic, pashtu, yaghnobi, pamir languages) like Ukrainian, all are charcaterized by this sound (h). From Ukrainian this Scythian sound enterted Belarusian, Czech, Slovak and Upper Lusatian languages, the closest Slavic relatives of Ukrainian. * The ruling clan of Pecheneg state (that occupied Ukraine in 9-11th century) Kangares (Kangar asses - Stone Asses / Alans) were Iranic speaking Scytho-Saramatians too. Hence name of city Kagarlyk (Kangarlyk) in south Kyiv region. Pecheneg capital (ruled by Iranic Kangars), seat of kagan, was there on Rosava, at Kagarlyk, Ukraine. Simurgh (Samara / Samuryk) is common Scythian / Iranian mythological griffin. Sometimes phoenixes feature around this tree. This pattern is very common in Ukrainian embroidery. Simurgh (Scythian griffin) is also symbol of Crimea and very popular (last) name in Ukraine (in forms Samaryk, Semeruk, Semerak, Samara etc). Scythians (Sakas) - Sarmatians (Savromatae) - Alans (Allonae) -- ancients north Iranic tribes of Ukraine. Digor (neo-Scythian language) song. Digor is neo-Scytho-Sarmatian (Neo-Alanic) language that is spoken in western part of north Ossetia. It is very archaic form of Ossetian, being the only surviving Scythian language basically, that survived in the Caucasian mountains. Ukrainian, Czech, Slovak and nearly extinct Upper Lusatian (Sorbian) & Belarusian are all Scytho-Slavic languages characterized by Scytho-Sarmatian-Alan-Digor "h" (gh) sound that is used instead of Slavic g. For example "Hovoryty / hovir" instead of Slavic "Govorit / gwar". Scythian H sound is unknown to other Slavs (Russians, Poles, Balkan Slavs). By their ethnological features the Scythians and Sarmatians, certainly, are ancient Türkic people. Specifically, it is the ethnological affinity of Scythians and Türks that deters the advocates of the Scythian-Ossetian theory from the research of the Scythian ethnological problems. As to the Scythо-Türkic ethnological parallels, they were already noted by the first, and then by the subsequent Scythologs, who came to a conclusion that 'the vestiges of Scythian culture were perpetuated and persistently preserved in the culture of Türkic -Mongolian (and in an a smaller measure in Slavic and Finno-Ugrian) peoples' [Elnitskiy L.A., 1977, 243]. P.I.Karalkin also came to a conclusion that The Royal Scythians were the ancestors of the Türkic speaking peoples [Karalkin P.I., 1978, 39-40]. The ethnological features of the Scythians and Sarmatians are studied in detail in the book of I.M.Miziev 'History beside'. It lists 15 Scythian-Türkic (in a wider sense- Altaic) ethological parallels, and concludes that 'all noted characteristics of the Scythian-Altai parallels find the nearest analogies, nearly without exception, in the culture and life of the many medieval pastoralists of the Eurasian steppes: Huns, Kipchaks etc., and almost completely continue in the traditional culture of the Türkic -Mongolian peoples of the Central Asia, Kazakhstan, Volga basin, Caucasus and Altai' [Miziev I.M., 1990,]. Thus, the message of the ancients about the similarity of the languages of Scythians, Sarmatians, and Alans is not a basis at all for identification of Alans as Iranian speaking. The results of the research of many scientists show that the Alans, as well as their ancestors, the Sarmatians and Scythians, were mainly Türkic speaking, i.e. ancestors of the Türks. ✠▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬✠ Physiognomy of Scythians: We know a great deal about their physical appearance; they were short-headed giants with blond hair and blue eyes; this well-known fact is attested by various classical sources, and by their skeletal and other remains in numerous archaeological excavations, which give a fairly detailed description of these Ancient Turks: + medium stature, + fair skin, + heavily built, + brachycephallic, + brown hair, + brown or light almond eyes = Turanid type. ✠▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬✠ Summarizing... ...impartially all historical data based on real historical grounds, it is not difficult to suggest that Huns at first were an undistinguished Türkic people among Türkic Scythians and Sarmatians. They started making themselves known in the 1 c. AD.
