Ghetto Fight on basketball court
Ghetto Fight on basketball court
Violence in sports refers to physical acts committed in contact sports such as American football, ice hockey, rugby football, lacrosse, soccer, boxing, mixed martial arts, wrestling, and water polo beyond the normal levels of contact expected while playing the sport. These acts of violence can include intentional attempts to injure a player by another player or coach, but can also include threats of physical harm or actual physical harm sustained by players or coaches by those engaging in spectating of sports. "Intermittent explosive disorder" may be a cause of violence. Some athletes may be genetically predisposed to violence or (particularly male athletes) have unusually high testosterone levels. Animal behavior ethology studies may also lend a clue, as athletes may resort to violence to establish territory. Athletes sometimes resort to violence, in hopes of injuring and intimidating opponents. Such incidents may be part of a strategy developed by coaches or players. In boxing, unruly or extremely violent behavior by one of the contestants often results in the fighter breaking the rules being penalized with a points reduction, or, in extreme cases, disqualification. Outlawed tactics in boxing include hitting the opponent on the back of the head, under the belly during clinching, and to the back. Other tactics that are outlawed, but less seen, are pushing an opponent extremely hard to the floor, kicking, or hitting repeatedly after the round has ended. Similar actions have also happened in ice hockey and Australian Football League matches. Athletes sometimes resort to violence, in hopes of injuring and intimidating opponents. Similar actions have also happened in ice hockey and Australian Football League matches. Bench-clearing brawls have been known to occur in many sports, and officials in those sports have been cracking down on such brawls; in 1995, the National Basketball Association changed the penalty for leaving the bench to participate in a brawl from a $500 fine to an automatic one-game suspension. In 2010, the Northern Territory Football League in Australia ruled that any player found to have left the interchange bench to participate in a melee would be ejected from that match; they would also have their melee fine increased by 25% and receive an automatic one-match suspension. I have compiled a lot of crazy and funny sports fight videos and am putting them up on my channel so subscribe if you like ! Hopefully soon I will be uploading videos of physical fights between competitors in the following sports : lacrosse , baseball , basketball , tennis , golf , football , rugby , badminton , billiards , pool , bowling , cycling , running , car racing and nascar , motorcycle racing , atv racing , cricket , volleyball , UFC , Mixed martial arts , softball , hardball , horse racing , rodeo , bull riding , fishing , american football , soccer , gymnastics , snow skiing and much more ! You would not think that some of the above sports would turn into physical altercations but they do sometimes! Hockey is definately the number one sport that often turns violent . Hockey fighters are commonly referred to as " ENFORCERS " Baseball often turns violent also and MLB players have been known to brawl especially when an umpire does not properly call a play or there is a dispute . Basketball players , especially Dennis Rodman , have also been known to get into physical fights in the NBA commonly .- published: 23 Nov 2013

24 Hours on an Aircraft Carrier
On 11-11-11, Veteran's Day, a basketball court assembled on the deck of the USS Carl Vinson for the Carrier Classic basketball game. But the action on the hardwood between Michigan State and North Carolina is no comparison to the teamwork that's seen here on any given day.

Loving Hands' "Basketball Court Project" - First Concrete Pour of 18 yds
Loving Hands' "Basketball Court Project" - First Concrete Pour of 18 yds
We are in need of your help again church family! The church next door that would let us use their basketball court has began their building expansion and the basketball court is now completely removed. We are working to provide a basketball court here on property for the men's recreation, and could use any help on getting concrete and full size basketball goal. We have men that can finish concrete and lay the forms. To start, it looks like we will need approximately 40 to 50 yards of concrete. Any help would be greatly appreciated! ***UPDATE*** After being rained out multiple days in a row, we finally were able to pour the first slab! We have another slab to go to have the first half court complete and then two more pours after that to have a complete full court for the men to play basketball on in their Recreation time! Thank you to everyone who has donated so far to get us where we are! Every donation counts no matter how small or big! We estimate the grand total for the entire court and goals to be approximately $6000! PLEASE PRAY ABOUT HOW YOU CAN OR WHO YOU KNOW THAT WILL HELP WITH THIS PROJECT! Thank you and God bless! [you can call (941) 747-LOVE, email Pastor Wendell Wilson at LovingHandsWCW@msn.com, or donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 1157 Bradenton, Fl. 34206 or even made securely online at www.LovingHands.net ; please designate 'bball court project' in donation description]- published: 05 Jul 2013
