Patratu
Patratu is a census town in Patratu (community development block) of Ramgarh district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.
Geography
Patratu is located at 23°40′N 85°17′E / 23.67°N 85.28°E / 23.67; 85.28. It has an average elevation of 405 metres (1328 feet) Patratu dam is constructed under the planning of the greatest Indian engineer and father of Indian engineering "SIR MOKSHAGUNDAM VISVESVARAYA"(about https://wn.com/Sir_Mokshagundam_Visvesvaraya) and this dam is only 40 km away from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, from where it can be reached by road in less than an hour. It is directly connected to Ranchi, patna, jaipur Jamshedpur, Varanasi, Jammu, Jabalpur, Allahabad, Delhi and Kolkata by train.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census, Patratu had a population of 32,132. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%.Patratu has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 61%. In Patratu, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Patratu (community development block) is an administrative division of Ramgarh district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.
Geography
Patratu is located at 23°39′52″N 85°18′20″E / 23.6645°N 85.3055°E / 23.6645; 85.3055. It has an average elevation of 508 metres (1,667 ft).
Patratu CD Block covers an area of 80,059.30 acres, out of which 25,524.78 acres is forest area.
Rivers passing through Patratu CD Block are Damodar and Kankani.
Demographics
As per 2011 Census of India Patratu CD Block had a total population of 247,841, of which 92,822 were rural and 155,019 were urban. There were 129,469 males and 118,372 females. Scheduled Castes numbered 31,911 and Scheduled Tribes numbered 64,643.
Patratu, Saunda, Jainagar, Hesla, Balkundra, Lapanga and Barkakana are census towns in Patratu CD Block.
Literacy
As per 2011 census the total number of literates in Patratu CD Block was 160,860 out of which 93,705 were males and 67,101 were females.
Economy
Coal mines under the Barka Sayal area of Central Coalfields Limited are in Patratu CD Block.

Ranchi to Patratu - 45 km

Below are the activities we did during this day.
Shri Jagannath Temple - we started our day by visiting this temple, it is dedicated to lord vishnu, the architecture of this temple somewhat similar to the temple in Puri, but it is not that big. It is an ancient temple of 1691.
Dhurwa Dam - Then we proceeded towards patratu, we stopped by dhurwa dam to see the natural beauty. It It is a significant water reservoir serving both as a water source and a recreational spot for locals and tourists. This dam is constructed across the Subarnarekha River.
Lunch at Ravi Hotel - We had mutton bhat, this dhaba is located on the highway.
Patratu valley view - We wanted to see the view, but due to cloudy weather & rain, we couldn't see the view.
Patratu Lake - This is an artificial lake, surrounded by hills. We took a speed boat ride - Rs 750 per person, you can do jet ski, boating at this place.
Palani Waterfall - We took an auto to reach this waterfall, the distance is about 2.5 to 3 km.
Dhuska - We had a famous delicacy of Jharkhand, one of the street vendors near marwadi school at Pustak Path. Dhuska & Barra.
Ajam Emba - It is a traditional restaurant which serves tribal food of jharkhand. Non Veg platter - Rs 750 & Veg Platter - Rs 550.

If you are visiting jharkhand during october time you will experience pleasant weather. During our tour we experienced rainfall in some areas. Which was making it a good time to explore the city and its surrounding natural beauty, like the stunning waterfalls in the area.
Ranchi to Patratu - 45 km
Date of journey - 2nd Oct 2023
Below are the activities we did during this day.
Shri Jagannath Temple - we started our day by visiting this temple, it is dedicated to lord vishnu, the architecture of this temple somewhat similar to the temple in Puri, but it is not that big. It is an ancient temple of 1691.
Dhurwa Dam - Then we proceeded towards patratu, we stopped by dhurwa dam to see the natural beauty. It It is a significant water reservoir serving both as a water source and a recreational spot for locals and tourists. This dam is constructed across the Subarnarekha River.
Lunch at Ravi Hotel - We had mutton bhat, this dhaba is located on the highway.
Patratu valley view - We wanted to see the view, but due to cloudy weather & rain, we couldn't see the view.
Patratu Lake - This is an artificial lake, surrounded by hills. We took a speed boat ride - Rs 750 per person, you can do jet ski, boating at this place.
Palani Waterfall - We took an auto to reach this waterfall, the distance is about 2.5 to 3 km.
Dhuska - We had a famous delicacy of Jharkhand, one of the street vendors near marwadi school at Pustak Path. Dhuska & Barra.
Ajam Emba - It is a traditional restaurant which serves tribal food of jharkhand. Non Veg platter - Rs 750 & Veg Platter - Rs 550.

The place is famous for its breathtaking scenic beauty , beautiful zigzag road , a beautiful lake & pure nature all around.
We had a great trip to the valley & we enjoyed the fullest, I just want to share those moments with u all through my video, so watch it till the end 😊

Ranchi is famous for waterfall, old temples, It is the capital city of Jharkhand, we came for a 4 day tour of Jharkhand,
If you are visiting jharkhand during october time you will experience pleasant weather. During our tour we experienced rainfall in some areas. Which was making it a good time to explore the city and its surrounding natural beauty, like the stunning waterfalls in the area.
Ranchi to Patratu - 45 km
Date of journey - 2nd Oct 2023
Below are the activities we did during this day.
Shri Jagannath Temple - we started our day by visiting this temple, it is dedicated to lord vishnu, the architecture of this temple somewhat similar to the temple in Puri, but it is not that big. It is an ancient temple of 1691.
Dhurwa Dam - Then we proceeded towards patratu, we stopped by dhurwa dam to see the natural beauty. It It is a significant water reservoir serving both as a water source and a recreational spot for locals and tourists. This dam is constructed across the Subarnarekha River.
Lunch at Ravi Hotel - We had mutton bhat, this dhaba is located on the highway.
Patratu valley view - We wanted to see the view, but due to cloudy weather & rain, we couldn't see the view.
Patratu Lake - This is an artificial lake, surrounded by hills. We took a speed boat ride - Rs 750 per person, you can do jet ski, boating at this place.
Palani Waterfall - We took an auto to reach this waterfall, the distance is about 2.5 to 3 km.
Dhuska - We had a famous delicacy of Jharkhand, one of the street vendors near marwadi school at Pustak Path. Dhuska & Barra.
Ajam Emba - It is a traditional restaurant which serves tribal food of jharkhand. Non Veg platter - Rs 750 & Veg Platter - Rs 550.

Patratu valley is located in the Ramgarh district of Indian state Jharkhand , some 40 kms away from the capital city Ranchi , the valley lies on the Ranchi - Kanke - Hazaribagh road. The place is famous for its breathtaking scenic beauty , beautiful zigzag road , a beautiful lake & pure nature all around.
We had a great trip to the valley & we enjoyed the fullest, I just want to share those moments with u all through my video, so watch it till the end 😊

●You can drive through the zigzag road which will provide great pleasure.
● A thrilling boat ride can be enjoyed at the beautiful Patratu lake.

Patratu is a census town in Patratu (community development block) of Ramgarh district in the Indian state of Jharkhand.
Geography
Patratu is located at 23°40′N 85°17′E / 23.67°N 85.28°E / 23.67; 85.28. It has an average elevation of 405 metres (1328 feet) Patratu dam is constructed under the planning of the greatest Indian engineer and father of Indian engineering "SIR MOKSHAGUNDAM VISVESVARAYA"(about https://wn.com/Sir_Mokshagundam_Visvesvaraya) and this dam is only 40 km away from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, from where it can be reached by road in less than an hour. Demographics
As of 2001 India census, Patratu had a population of 32,132. Males constitute 54% of the population and females 46%.Patratu has an average literacy rate of 70%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 79%, and female literacy is 61%. In Patratu, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
