President Barack Obama, left, and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe shake hands as they arrive to participate in a bilateral meeting at the Akasaka State Guest House in Tokyo, Thursday, April 24, 2014. ON his first of eight days in Asia intended to affirm that the US’s “pivot” back to the region remains on course, President Barack Obama yesterday in Tokyo laid down a clear line on a sensitive strategic issue: the Senkaku/Diaoyu...

The documentation is based on reports of, amongst others, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Berlin, the American National Archives, the Library of Congress and archives in France, Denmark, Sweden, Armenia, Russia and Turkey. These documents, hidden for a long time in order not to harm Turkey, leave absolutely no room for doubt about the reality of the Armenian genocide.

In 2011 two friends decided they were going to cycle around the world in aid of War Child UK. Before leaving in, February 2012, they visited Bangui, Central African Republic to see firsthand how War Child UK are supporting a local charity there.

The charity, Fondation Voix du Coeur, provides help and support to the street children of Bangui.

Here is a short documentary telling the story of just a handful of street children in Bangui and how the Fondation Voix du Coeur, with the help of War Child UK, is providing essential support for them.

Please help us support War Child UK. They are a small international charity that protects children from the brutal effects of war and its consequences.

They currently work in Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, Iraq, Uganda and now Syria.

They\'re on the ground -- supporting the most vulnerable children that are too often forgotten in the aftermath of conflict.

(THIS IS THE TRANSCRIPT FOR ARIRANG NEWS THAT AIRED ON 20 Apr 2014- 18:00 KST.)

Title: Early Edition Title

Title: Sewol-ho sinks off bridge

KOREAN FERRY TRAGEDY

Title: Opening

It\'s 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 20th here in Korea.
Live from Seoul, I\'m Moon Conn-young.

I\'m Daniel Choy. Thank you for joining us.

It\'s been 105 hours or more than four days since a nearly 7-thousand ton Sewol-ho ferry sank into waters with more than 470 people on board.
56 have been confirmed dead, so far... nearly 250 remain unaccounted for.

Search and rescue operations have continued for the last four days... but with little results... as no survivors have been found since.

Title:1. Sewol-ho ferry and marine control tower communicated for 30 mins before crew members started escaping

And for the latest on the investigation, we now go over to our Laah Hyun-kyung, standing by at the news center.
Hyun-kyung, what can you tell us?

The transcript and an audio file of what was said between the Sewol-ho ferry and the Jindo Vessel Traffic Service, the marine traffic control tower for the region, have been made public.

As you can hear, it\'s difficult to make out what the two sides are saying exactly.
But what is evident is that the situation sounds quite urgent.

Now, the released transcript shows that the control center first contacted the sinking ferry at 9:06 a.m. Wednesday.
They contacted each other eleven times and communicated for 31 minutes.
You can see at 9:12 a.m. the ferry was already severely tilted and the crew member who was talking to the control center already knew that the people on board were not able to move.
At around 9:25, the control center told the ferry to decide whether to order passengers to abandon the vessel, since it didn\'t know the situation there.
But the ferry said it was unable to make announcements because its speaker system was down by that time.
And the last time the two made contact was at 9:37 a.m.,... during which the ferry told the control tower that only the people who were able to escape to the left side of the ferry were able to leave the vessel.

President Obama Remarks over South Korea Sinking Ferry and the Affordable Care Act.

Republicans 'were wrong' about Obamacare Presidential News Conference April 17, 2014 President Obama makes remarks about the sinking of a ferry off South Korea's coast and enrollment in the Affordable Care Act. He also responds to reporters' questions on the situation in Ukraine, immigration reform, among other issues. President Obama said Thursday that a total of 8 million people signed up for health care insurance policies during the initial enrollment period that ended March 31. "The Affordable Care Act is now covering more people at less cost" than many predicted, Obama said during a news conference in the White House press room. The rise in health care costs is slowing and previously uninsured Americans are now covered, Obama said, adding: "This thing is working." Obama again criticized Republicans who want to repeal the law, saying it's time to "move on" and focus on jobs and the overall economy. He called for "a change in attitude among the Republicans." Congressional Republicans say the law will lead to higher costs and worse health care for most Americans. "I have a question," tweeted House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va. "How many Obamacare enrollees were previously uninsured?" Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., cited the number of people who saw previous policies canceled: "Noticeably absent from the President's remarks today was any mention of the millions of Americans who were deceived about what Obamacare would mean for them and their families." In addition to trumpeting health care, Obama also: - Expressed hope for an emerging diplomatic plan to address violence in Ukraine, and said he will speaking with European leaders later Thursday. But the president, who has accused Russia of fomenting violence in southern and eastern Ukraine, said it will take several days to see if a new proposal pans out. Obama spoke just a few hours after Secretary of State John Kerry announced that diplomats from Russia, Ukarine, the European Union, and the United States have agreed to a series of steps aimed at de-escalating the violence. Obama, Kerry, and their aides have said they will move to put more economic sanctions on Russia if they do not stop activities in neighboring Ukraine. Obama also said that "military options are not on the table in Ukraine." -- Expressed condolences for the victims of the South Korea ferry disaster. Obama spoke shortly after meeting with a group of state insurance commissioners, some of whom reported that the president cited a rush of young people -- under the age of 35 -- signing up late. The news follows a busy week on the health care front. Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced last Thursday she would step down from her post, the same day she told the House Finance Committee that the exchanges had enrolled at least 7.5 million people -- 1.5 million more than the Congressional Budget Office's projected in February, and half a million more than the office originally projected. Obama has nominated Sylvia Mathews Burwell, current director of the Office of Management and Budget, to replace Sebelius at HHS. On Monday, the Congressional Budget Office reported that it expects as many as 5 million people to enroll directly through private insurers, beyond the exchanges set up under the new law. That's in addition to the 8 million Obama said have now signed up. Opponents of the Affordable Care Act, meanwhile, say they're still waiting to hear how many people pay for their policies, if enough healthy people have enrolled to make the exchanges financially workable in the future, and how many of the enrollees use a month's worth of benefits to cover medical procedures they couldn't afford before but then don't continue to pay for their insurance. In its Monday report, the CBO said it included only those it expected to follow through on payments in its projections.

They're on the ground -- supporting the most vulnerable children that are too often forgotten in the aftermath of conflict. You can donate to them direct through our JustGiving page here: http://www.justgiving.com/DaringDynamos

Early Edition 18:00 (THIS IS THE TRANSCRIPT FOR ARIRANG NEWS THAT AIRED ON 20 Apr 2014- 18:00 KST.) Title: Early Edition Title Title: Sewol-ho sinks off bridge KOREAN FERRY TRAGEDY Title: Opening It's 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 20th here in Korea. Live from Seoul, I'm Moon Conn-young. I'm Daniel Choy. Thank you for joining us. It's been 105 hours or more than four days since a nearly 7-thousand ton Sewol-ho ferry sank into waters with more than 470 people on board. 56 have been confirmed dead, so far... nearly 250 remain unaccounted for. Search and rescue operations have continued for the last four days... but with little results... as no survivors have been found since. Title:1. Sewol-ho ferry and marine control tower communicated for 30 mins before crew members started escaping And for the latest on the investigation, we now go over to our Laah Hyun-kyung, standing by at the news center. Hyun-kyung, what can you tell us? The transcript and an audio file of what was said between the Sewol-ho ferry and the Jindo Vessel Traffic Service, the marine traffic control tower for the region, have been made public. As you can hear, it's difficult to make out what the two sides are saying exactly. At around 9:25, the control center told the ferry to decide whether to order passengers to abandon the vessel, since it didn't know the situation there. But the ferry said it was unable to make announcements because its speaker system was down by that time. And the last time the two made contact was at 9:37 a.m.,... during which the ferry told the control tower that only the people who were able to escape to the left side of the ferry were able to leave the vessel.

Ukraine crisis: West wants to 'seize control' Russia - 25 April 2014

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has accused the West of wanting to "seize" Ukraine, amid escalating rhetoric between Russia and the US. On Thursday US Secretary of State John Kerry had accused Russia of "distraction, deception and destabilisation" in eastern Ukraine. The US says Russia has failed to live up to an agreement to end the crisis struck in Geneva last week. American officials say Russia is behind unrest in eastern Ukrainian cities. Pro-Russian separatists are occupying key buildings in a dozen eastern Ukrainian towns, defying the central government. Ukraine has launched military raids to regain the buildings, which Mr Lavrov described as a "bloody crime". "The West... wants to seize Ukraine so to speak, being solely motivated by its own geopolitical ambitions and not the interests of the Ukrainian people," Mr Lavrov said, according to AFP. "The might of US propaganda" was aimed "at smearing Russia, smearing those who protest against the illegal actions of the [Kiev] authorities," he went on. Soon after Mr Lavrov's comments, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said Russia wanted to "start World War Three" by occupying Ukraine "militarily and politically" and by creating a conflict that would spread to the rest of Europe. Russia has ordered new military exercises on its border following the Ukrainian military raids, drawing condemnation from Kiev. Moscow has tens of thousands of troops along its side of the border and on Friday acting Ukrainian Defence Minister Mikhail Koval told the Interfax-Ukraine agency that they had come within a kilometre of the border. 'Active role' Earlier US Secretary of State John Kerry issued a strongly worded statement in which he he called on Moscow to help defuse the crisis or face further sanctions. Mr Kerry praised the interim authorities in Kiev, saying they had honoured the agreement struck in Geneva on 17 April to de-escalate the crisis. But he said Russia had "put its faith in distraction, deception and destabilisation" and said it had failed to call for separatists to leave official buildings and give up their arms as stipulated by the Geneva agreement. He also accused Russian media of promoting President Vladimir Putin's "fantasy" about events in Ukraine. Mr Kerry said US intelligence was confident that Russia was "playing an active role in destabilising eastern Ukraine" with personnel, weapons, money and operational planning".
