Starting life as a stills photographer, Murray stepped out into time-lapse video and documentary film during a series of long-term exhibition projects. Murray co-directed, operated camera, motion control time-lapse and was the subject of 'Salt', a documentary situated on a salt pan in remote central Australia, which won many awards including the 'golden frog' for his cinematography. He has just completed three years of shooting an arts based, feature documentary on the Greenland Icecap and another project shooting the worlds largest thunderstorms in the tropics off northern Australia.
Murray's documentary work has been screened on major networks including BBC, ABC, PBS, Redbull, Fox 8 and others. Murray's still photography is widely exhibited in contemporary art galleries and sits in major public and private collections internationally. His still photographs have been published widely in advertising campaigns, corporate and editorial outlets including National Geographic Magazine.
