Multiple gold medal winner and sprint world record holder Usain Bolt visited the city of Auckland in New Zealand on Monday 8th October on a sponsorship tour. SCRIPTING INFORMATION Usain Bolt doesn t seem the type to be easily scared but the Jamaican sprint superstar was taken aback on Monday by a vigorous Maori Haka performed to welcome him to New Zealand. Bolt watched enthralled as 350 workers from an Auckland factory performed the traditional challenge joking afterwards he scared me a little bit... that was scary but it was fun. It looks like something I would like to do but we ll see. The 26-year-old was making a short sponsorship visit to New Zealand after holidaying in Australia and was greeted by some typically inclement weather - with his helicopter pilot forced to remain grounded Bolt had to get around by car. Bolt also conducted a training clinic with eight young New Zealand athletes and attended a training session with Kiwi basketball team the New Zealand Breakers. After another successful Olympic Games in London this year Bolt let it be known that he will be defending his titles at the next Olympiad in Rio de Janeiro Brazil in 2016. The self-declared living legend will be attempting to win the 100 and 200 metres for an unprecedented third straight Games. Bolt was under intense pressure from Yohan Blake going into the London Olympics after losing to his training partner at the Jamaican selection trials. But he vowed to deliver his best when it counted most and showed in London just how far ahead of the competition he can be when he s in peak form. Bolt holds the world records in both the 100 and 200 metres and says he wants to go even faster. Bolt plans to return to training later this month and turn his attention immediately to the world championships next year in Moscow.
