Alison Lundergan Grimes (D)

When most people think of Kentucky they think of the beautiful countryside.  A state rich in natural wonders and proud people.  Good people.  I tend to think of Kentucky as the battleground for national politics and Mitch McConnell.  One man in this country that has controlled the agenda against the president and America for five long years with one simple answer.  NO!  Mitch McConnell has to go and so does his NO against American progress.  Let us put a spy glass over how Mitch voted on issues that effect everyone.

No to unemployment extensions.
No to job plans.
No to anything to do with women rights.
No to environment issues.

No to veterans with disabilities.
No to healthcare for all.
No to equal pay for equal work for women.
No to  immigration reform.
No to keeping the government open.
No to anything that comes out of the White House.

What did Mitch McConnell vote yes on?

Yes to end AFCA (Obama Care) for the billionth time.
Yes to cutting Social Security and Medicare.
Yes to cutting food stamps for the poor.  Even if 1 in 5 in KY need it.
Yes to blocking Wall Street reform.
Yes to corporations are people too.
Yes to extending tax cuts for the mega rich.

Mitch McConnell's idea of government is not about governing.  It is his way or the highway.  He might have learned that under George W but that is not reality  Mitch probably said no to infrastructure repair for his self centered agenda because it was on the president's agenda of things that he swore to never let the president do.  When your Chevy or Ford falls from a bridge in Kentucky, or California, or New York, or Miami, or Boston, or wherever you are in America you can thank Mitch for saying no to fixing our nations infrastructure.

Our nation needs to ditch the Mitch and elect Alison Lundergan Grimes to Mitch McConnell's seat in the senate.  There is one thing we American's always do, we see a wrong and we make it right.  Mitch has millionaires backing him while you have unemployment extensions in limbo or thankful for a job that just pays the minimum bills.  Mitch has to be ditched.  VOTE HIM OUT.

I live in Missouri, but Mitch McConnell is an American problem which makes him all of our problem and needs to be out of office.  How do we little folks do this?  We take five bucks and mail it or send it to his political opponent Alison Lundergan Grimes.  She's a Democrat that will not be taking checks from people that will destroy the way of life in Kentucky or the rest of America.  She has their back and our back and I sent my five bucks.  Why did I do that?  I love my country with the same reason that Thomas Jefferson did.  We can fix it by voting out the bad apples.  The tree of liberty doesn't always have to fed with the blood of patriots.  Sometimes all it needs is a vote to oust the bad blood.

Donate here if you can afford a few bucks...  http://alisonforkentucky.com/

From the roots can only come new growth.  We must be united to send Mitch home.  Nationwide we have the power to send him home by having Alison Londergan Grime's back.  She's the new growth in the garden of plants that need weeding.  That is how democracy works.

We all need a government that is not bought and paid for by special interests.  Your donation, no matter how small can out do the millions Mitch McConnell will get from his paid for friends that control his vote on any topic.  Nationwide, we can ditch the Mitch if we all work together.  Rock on Alison!  Got your back.

Mitch McConnell, It is TIME to GO!

I hate that I had to name this post after the senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R KY)(Minority Leader of US Senate), but this is a post about a serious election in Kentucky in 2014.  Mitch the Ditch has dodged the needs of the American people since President Obama took office simply because he hated the idea that a Democrat that happened to be a very well educated black man was sitting in the Oval Office.  Job one for Mitch the Ditch was to make sure nothing this elected president wanted done had no republican support in the senate.  Well, he did a damn good job of killing as many jobs bills and economic plans that the president sent to the senate for a vote.  And we all know what the government shutdown was all about that the minority party leader of the senate ran from after it happened.

"The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president."  Mitch McConnell

Kentucky has a serious woman running to take Mitch the Ditch out of office.  Her name is Alison Grimes and she is running as a Democrat.  For the first time since 1985 Kentucky has the chance to vote in somebody that actually cares about Kentuckians rather than someone that needs a fat check for his political campaign before he eats lunch or dinner with you.

Some of the issues she talks about that are OPPOSITE to that of Mitch the Ditch:

KEEPING PROMISES TO KENTUCKY SENIORS: An estimated 600,000 Kentuckians rely on Social Security and nearly 800,000 Kentuckians depend on Medicare. Alison will protect and strengthen Social Security and Medicare as Kentucky’s next U.S. Senator.  Protecting these programs is critical to the economic well-being for the Commonwealth’s women and families.  Women rely more heavily on income from Social Security than men do, and the majority of Medicare recipients are women.

INCREASING MINIMUM WAGE: In order to grow our middle class, we must raise the minimum wage to help hardworking Americans achieve a basic standard of living.  An overwhelming majority – two thirds – of minimum wage workers in the United States are women.  Consider a single working mother of two who makes the current federal minimum wage who brings home just $14,500 annually – nearly $4,000 below the poverty line.

This coming election will be dirty and Mitch the Ditch has made it clear that he will muddy the waters like never before.  Doesn't that make for a David verse Goliath story.  Yes, it certainly does.  Sad part is that he might get re-elected without having to do anything because people have always had just one choice in Kentucky.  Read up on Allison Grimes and if you can do so, send a few dollars or more to her campaign to Ditch the Mitch.  Even if you don't live in Kentucky!  Mitch the Ditch only needs to serve a few close friends that will donate all he needs to bash and trash Allison Grimes.  Most of his friends that donate to his re-election do not even live or work in Kentucky.  She needs thousands of us to match the bash with honest thoughts and a clean campaign.

Alison Grimes for US Senate KY link for donations  $$$$PLEASE DITCH THE MITCH$$$$

Have faith, she won't let you down.  This post was independently written without the knowledge of anything to do with Kentucky and it's elections or anyone in the election.  I just think Alison would be better

War On Christmas Victims

We have been following the war on Christmas here at Papamoka and we are disgusted with the massive slaughter of millions if not hundreds of millions of Christmas tree warriors after the holiday.  Christmas trees that were once accepted into millions of homes are now homeless and left for dead in the cold.  Tossed to the curb or just dumped as if they were never part of the war on Christmas.  Temperatures all over the northern parts of the United States and Canada are dropping and the carcasses of the best of the best of Christmas warriors are being outed as dead trees.  Stripped of their rank and war decorations and just cast aside.

After putting all of our reporting staff on the subject we discovered a massive coverup that went all the way to the top.  Santa organized these domestic terrorists.  His network was world wide and duped every government in the world just to get free cookies and carrots for himself and his addicted flock of reindeer.

National Security now list Christmas Trees as a domestic terrorist threat that have been known to drop sharp needles for barefoot unsuspecting American's to step on and say "Ouch!"  The industrial military complex is studying how these sleeper cells infiltrated so deeply in most American homes.  Ornaments nationwide will be tested next year for spying or looking really neat on dead trees.

This reporter still believes that these trees were just a pawn in the war on Christmas.  They served their purpose and now they are considered useless.  Someone with a kind heart should start a fund for all these warriors of Christmas.  They fought the good fight.  They leave behind millions of off spring pine cones.  Who is going to care for their families?

Health Benefits of Coconut Oil

More and more reports are coming out on the benefits of including coconut oil in your diet that one has to think it might just be good for you in more ways than you think.  My personal research into coconut oil was based on my father passing from Alzheimer's disease.  As we get older our bodies can not process the nutrients our brain needs to retain memories so certain brain functions cease to function. Adding virgin coconut oil to a persons diet on a daily basis skips our bodies nutrient transportation system and feeds the brain with the nutrients it needs for memory retention.  Check out the video below about Dr. Mary Newport and her husband Steve and the reversal of his Alzheimer disease.

And yet there are many other uses for coconut oil that are not in the mainstream media database.  Here are just a few benefits to your health that I have seen lately in my personal research.  I am not a doctor or scientist but some of the people posting this information are.

Increases ability of people with dementia to function and recall memories over time.
Helps with and can heal eczema and psoriasis due to its anti microbial properties
Dental hygiene when used in pulling that helps protect your mouth from bad bacteria
When rubbed on the skin after and injury or infection it speeds healing.
If you suffer from athletes foot it is very effective in fighting it.
Coconut oil can help improve insulin levels when ingested daily.
It is a natural antibacterial skin cream.
Reduces acne when used regularly.
Increases absorption of calcium and magnesium.
Coconut oil speeds recovery from UTI's when used internally and externally.
Using coconut oil on a daily basis increases mental alertness.
When coconut oil is mixed with apple cider vinegar it kills head lice.
Coconut oil fats in your diet may help with depression and anxiety.

The list goes on.  Google search and get answers folks.  This is one product you want to keep in your kitchen cabinet and in your medicine cabinet.

Plastic up the Windows

Winter is coming and your heat is going out the windows.  Every single home leaks heat out the windows and that is a fact of physics.  Cold migrates to heat and heat migrates to cold.  Even if you have top of the line insulated windows your home is still going to leak heat through every single window.  Why does this happen? Windows are an open box for heat to escape.  No installation of an energy saving window matters because the air space around the window is wide open.  But you can somewhat stop the relationship of heat going out and cold coming in and save you heating dollars.

Plastic and windows are good friends when it comes to winter heating bills.  Every home improvement store sells the plastic window insulation kits.  I happen to be a huge fan of putting plastic up over the windows.

We have an apartment with floor to ceiling windows in the front.  There has always been a cold breeze that came through the windows even though they are tightly sealed windows for the most part.  You might ask yourself why you should put plastic up on your windows.  This is why.  Heat migrates to cold because that is science and physics.  Cold migrates to heat and this causes a reaction in the battle between hot and cold.  Cold usually wins and your heat goes out the window.  For the sake of a few dollars and a few hours of work you can save large amounts of money and enjoy your indoor heat more.

By simply putting up a plastic sheet over your windows you throw up an insulator to the heat in your home and the cold outside.  The two sides of hot and cold will still fight but there is a mediator that cancels all of their arguments for entry or exit out.  The air trapped behind the plastic warms all day long and that alone keeps your heated space from attracting to the cold windows long into the night.

Do yourself a favor and try putting up some plastic on a few rooms that you know are cold even with the heat blasting.  Install the plastic outside of the frame of the indoor windows and woodwork.  It makes a huge difference.  An ounce of prevention for so little cost saves tons of money on your winter heating bill.

Stay warm my friends.

Progressive Politics Surge

Former Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill once said "All politics is local."  That phrase was never more true than in this past off year election across the country.  Bill Moyers has a great story on just what happened in fifteen political races across the country called "15 Under-the-Radar Progressive Wins of Election 2013".

What is even more amazing is what is reported by readers of the post in the comment sections.  In addition to Bill's piece we have these progressive wins as posted by his readers:

1.  Cape Coral, the 3rd largest city geographically in the state of Florida, flipped from GOP to DEM by voting in Marni Sawicki... the first female mayor in Cape Coral's history!

2.  NJ voted yes to increase minimum wage to $8.25 ( from $7.25)

3.   Barnstable, MA, became the 15th and final Cape Cod town to vote overwhelmingly to shut down the Pilgrim Nuclear Power plant in Plymouth.

4.   Sunnyvale, CA's Measure C - Strict gun control. Passed 66% to 34%.

5.   Florida's fourth largest city, St Petersburg, flipped from GOP to Democrat.

6.   City of Poughkeepsie, NY - seven Democrats and one Republican on the City Common Council now.

7.   In Houston, TX, Mayor Parker was re-elected for a third term as mayor. She and her partner were out long before she first ran for mayor.

8.   Three reasonable candidates were elected to the school board over three Republican-backed "reform" candidates in heavily conservative Grand Junction, Colo.

9.  Ed Murray, Seattle, WA new Mayor.

10.  Rochester, NY, home to Susan B Anthony and Frederick Douglass, elected their first female mayor and the 2nd African American.

11.  Greensboro, NC outed its one term Republican Mayor Robbie Perkins for Nancy Vaughn a Democrat.

12.   Progressive Democrat Andy Ball won the Boone, NC Mayors seat by a landslide in a four way race.  1066 votes for Ball to 502 votes for an Independent, 150 votes for the Republican, and 113 votes for a write in.

13.  Along with the Governors office in Virginia, they also elected a Democrat Lt. Governor, Ralph Northam that happens to be and MD.

14.  Minneapolis City Council: First Hispanic, First Somalian, First Hmong voted in. Seven seats turned over. Six incumbents returned. New Mayor, a Democrat and a woman.

Change is happening and it is all local to begin with.  Comment away if you want to add election results in your area.
