Con Colleano (26 December 1899 – 13 November 1973) was an Australian tightrope walker who was the first person to successfully attempt a forward somersault on a tightrope and became one of the most celebrated and highly-paid circus performers of his time. He was known as "The Wizard of the Wire" or "The Toreador of the Wire".

He was born Cornelius Sullivan in Lismore, New South Wales, the son of an Irish man and a woman of indigenous descent whose father was of African heritage from St Thomas in the West Indies.

Colleano was the third of 10 children of his parents: his father (reportedly a freed convict) made a precarious living from sideshow "take-on-all-comers" boxing and gambling. Around 1907, when Colleano was 7 years of age, the family settled in Lightning Ridge, New South Wales then a newly-established opal mining field and a fertile ground for the father's talents. Here Colleano received a rudimentary education and learnt circus skills from the sideshows present in the town.

By 1910 those of the family of sufficient age had formed a small circus troupe the "Collinos" (apparently as an Italian-sounding name befitting the "sable" complexion of the children). They travelled through New South Wales and supplemented their income by working for the major travelling circuses of the time. By 1918 the now "Colleano's All-Star Circus" (with more of Con's siblings) was sufficiently established to travel through Queensland on their own hired train. The children became known as "The Royal Hawaiian Troupe".

Dorothy Squires (25 March 1915 — 14 April 1998) was a Welsh vocalist. Among her recordings were versions of "A Lovely Way to Spend an Evening", "I'm in the Mood for Love", "Anytime", "If You Love Me (Really Love Me)" and "And So to Sleep Again".

Born as Edna May Squires in her parents' carnival caravan in Pontyberem (about 12 miles from Llanelli), Carmarthenshire, Wales, to a steelworker, Archibald James Squires and his wife, Emily, she wanted a piano as a child. Her mother bought her a ukulele. While working in a tin plate factory, she began to perform professionally as a singer at the age of 16 in the working men's club of Pontyberem.^{[citation needed]}

Squires decided to pursue her dream in London, so while working as a nurse^{[citation needed]} she would audition unsuccessfully for various jobs, during which she met agent Joe Kay, who got her night time work in various clubs. While working in the East End, Squires worked at a club which gave her the name Dorothy, which she liked and used on stage after that time. Squires did most of her work with the orchestra of Billy Reid, who was her partner for many years. After she joined his orchestra in 1936, he began to write songs for her to perform.^{[citation needed]}

Sam Anderson (born May 13, 1945) is an American actor.

Anderson was born in Wahpeton, North Dakota. He is a graduate of the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. During the 1970s, Sam taught drama at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster, California.

Anderson is perhaps best known for his roles as mailroom supervisor Mr. Gorpley on Perfect Strangers, the lawyer Holland Manners on the first two seasons of Angel, the cardiologist Dr. Jack Kayson on the television series ER and as dentist Bernard on Lost, also as the assistant manager of the Hotel Royale in Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Royale", and as Mike Seaver's adversarial Principal DeWitt in Growing Pains. He was also one of the recurring actors on WKRP in Cincinnati who played various roles, including an immigration officer in the WKRP episode "The Americanization of Ivan" and a number of other episodes. Anderson has guest-starred in Season 8 of NCIS as Walter Carmichael, a middle school teacher whose classroom becomes a crime scene when one of his students is kidnapped.
