NRL 2014 Round 4 Highlights: Dragons Vs Broncos
SUBSCRIBE! http://www.youtube.com/user/footytubenrl?sub_confirmation=1 Brisbane have handed St George-Illawarra their first loss of the season, dismantling the Dragons 36-20 in front of 10,526 fans in Wollongong on Friday night. It was Brisbane's seventh win in a row over the Red V, and their third win from four games this season to announce themselves as early season surprise packets. The Dragons, meanwhile, will rue some soft tries that ruined what would've been the perfect opening month of the season. Brisbane led from start to finish, racing out to an early 12-0 lead on the back of consecutive tries to lock Matt Gillett in the opening 10 minutes. The first came via Ben Barba's seventh minute inside ball to a screaming Dale Copley, who found a sneaky Matt Gillett supporting on the inside. The Broncos lock found himself in again just three minutes later, this time becoming the recipient of a charitable Brett Morris when the representative winger failed to clean up Gillett's grubber. And with Corey Parker coolly slotting over both conversions, the Broncos were up by two converted tries before the Dragons could say "first home game in Wollongong". But the home side did hit back in the 14th minute on a Jason Nightingale special. The former Kiwi representative soared to take an AFL-like "mark" before wrestling his way through three defenders to plant the ball. Five-eighth Gareth Widdop's attempt hit the post -- the third time he's found the timber in three misses this year -- leaving the score at 12-4. NRL 2014 Round 3 Highlights: Cowboys Vs Warriors
SUBSCRIBE! http://www.youtube.com/user/footytubenrl?sub_confirmation=1 The Warriors have broken a 12-year losing streak in Townsville with a 20-16 NRL victory over fast-finishing North Queensland. The New Zealanders held on for their first win of the season as the Cowboys threw everything at them in the final 15 minutes at 1300Smiles Stadium on Saturday night. They were particularly fortunate that North Queensland winger Kyle Feldt stepped out on his way to the tryline with just over a minute to go. Feleti Mateo then knocked on in front of his posts only 12 metres out with 36 seconds left, but Kane Linnett dropped the ball in the Cowboys' last play of the game. The Warriors' last win at the Cowboys' home ground was on April 6, 2002, when Stacey Jones was captain and Penrith Panthers coach Ivan Cleary was at fullback. The visitors came out strongest in each half, putting on two tries in the early stages of each half to down the slow-starting Cowboys. Going into the match on the back of two losses, the Warriors took the lead in the ninth minute through Glen Fisiiahi, who picked up a bouncing Chad Townsend pass to cross in the right corner. The winger was in again 10 minutes later, taking advantage of a Michael Morgan's miss of a Shaun Johnson grubber. The deficit seemed to spark the Cowboys into action but Antonio Winterstein tripped over his own feet in the 22nd minute and fell just short of the tryline. The Samoa international made no mistake five minutes later as he again took a Morgan cut-out pass and beat three defenders to force his way over. Holding an 8-6 lead at halftime and following three consecutive sets, Konrad Hurrell crossed for the visitors with his fourth touch of the ball. Sione Lousi crossed under the uprights and Johnson converted to give the Kiwis a 14-point advantage with 18 minutes to play. As the rain began to fall, the Cowboys finally found some spark in attack and Morgan was first on the scene after Fisiiahi dropped a Johnathan Thurston bomb to score on 65 minutes. The video referee ruled against Tariq Sims who ran through a giant gap but knocked on over the line on 70 minutes. NRL 2014 Round 4 Highlights: Manly Vs Roosters
SUBSCRIBE! http://www.youtube.com/user/footytubenrl?sub_confirmation=1 They said all week that revenge wasn't on their minds, but rest assured Manly's 8-0 triumph over the Roosters would have been just that little bit sweeter than their previous nail-biting wins in 2014. The Sea Eagles overcame a dogged Roosters outfit for the first time in five clashes as both sides produced a fitting sequel to last year's memorable decider, though a Jamie Lyon penalty goal on the stroke of fulltime provided an anti-climatic end to yet another low-scoring epic. For the third time in four matches this season the Roosters found themselves on the wrong end of a lopsided penalty count, with the whistle blowing a staggering 11-2 in the Sea Eagles' favour, and a first-half try to winger Cheyse Blair proved enough for the visitors as they kept 2013's most potent attacking side scoreless for the first time since an 18-0 loss to the Panthers in early 2012. A disallowed try to Daniel Tupou in the 73rd minute was the closest the Roosters came to cracking the Sea Eagles' line, while 14,902 fans were treated to a final five minutes reminiscent of a Three Stooges episode as Manly half Daly Cherry-Evans had repeated field goal attempts charged down and the Sea Eagles dropped more passes than they caught when faced with the chance to seal the match. Minutes earlier Tupou had appeared to have levelled the scores when he crossed outwide, but the four-pointer was controversially denied as video referee Steve Clarke deemed the Manly defence had been obstructed when Roosters half Mitchell Pearce ran behind a decoy runner in the play's lead up. From the outset both sides picked up where they had left off in their previous clashes with desperate goal-line defence in the opening 10 minutes, as first Boyd Cordner and then Peta Hiku were pulled down inches short of the line in the early exchanges. Sea Eagles skipper Lyon opened the scoring with a penalty goal from 30 metres out, awarded for Jared Waerea-Hargreaves's high shot that gave Glenn Stewart an all expenses paid trip to Disneyland in the 18th minute. NRL 2014 Round 3 Highlights: Storm Vs Knights
SUBSCRIBE! http://www.youtube.com/user/footytubenrl?sub_confirmation=1 It is three straight wins to start the season for Melbourne Storm as they accounted for Newcastle 28-20 in Monday night football at AAMI Park. After two straight weeks of nail-biting drama, the final 10 minutes could this week be savoured rather than feared by Storm fans. As usual the Big Three were at their creative best, however it was the wingers that proved to be the Storm's most damaging threat. Sisa Waqa and Young Tonumaipea combined for 257 metres and a try apiece in a dominant performance out wide. For the third straight week the winless Knights lost the possession count (55 to 45 per cent) and along with 14 penalties against, repeated sets of six were all too apparent throughout the 80 minutes. The Storm burst out of the blocks early, heaping pressure on the visitors right from the outset. It was captain Cameron Smith who had points on the board first, courtesy of a penalty kick after a third Knights infringement in as many minutes. The game had its first try of the night through the visitors though when Michael Dobson's kick came off the right upright and fell into the hands of Jeremy Smith. A successful Kurt Gidley conversion handed Newcastle a four-point lead after six minutes. In the 15th minute newly re-signed Storm forward Jesse Bromwich caught the ire of referee Gerard Sutton after a dangerous tackle on Robbie Rochow. The penalty kick to follow had the Knights 8-2 up after 20 minutes and with a sniff of their first win of the season. SUBSCRIBE! http://www.youtube.com/user/footytubenrl?sub_confirmation=1 The Rabbitohs struggled from early in the contest after Greg Inglis was sidelined with concussion, and if anything were flattered by the final scoreline after scoring two tries in the last five minutes of the match. After going into the break with a 14-6 advantage, the Tigers proved that they shouldn't be taken lightly in 2014 after winger Pat Richards stretched out his side's lead to 12 points with a try 60 seconds into the second half. The Tigers were at it again in the 53rd minute following an inch-perfect grubber from halfback Luke Brooks -- his partner-in-crime James Tedesco picking up the scraps to put his side further in front to a 24-6 lead. A 62nd-minute Braith Anasta field-goal would follow, ending any possible Rabbitohs comeback. Adding insult to injury, the Rabbitohs' Luke Burgess was sin-binned in the 73rd minute -- the referee having no choice following the several high shots that came before it -- while Issac Luke would come off with two minutes to play with an apparent shoulder injury. Joel Reddy added two consolation tries in his first game for the Rabbitohs in what was otherwise a disappointing night for Bunnies fans. It wasn't all roses to begin with though for the Tigers. After conceding a penalty within the first two minutes of the game, the Tigers defence was cut open two minutes later. A brilliant passage of play from fill-in five-eighth John Sutton led to an unlikely Ben Lowe try for a 6-0 lead. Following the first try of the game, Rabbitohs fullback Greg Inglis fell victim to a trademark Pat Richards high kick-off -- with a Tim Simona tackle knocking out Inglis and seeing Simona penalised and placed on report. SUBSCRIBE! http://www.youtube.com/user/footytubenrl?sub_confirmation=1 The Roosters have snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, scoring two late tries to come from eight points down in the final five minutes to record a 30-26 victory over the Broncos in front of a parochial crowd of 33,381 at Suncorp Stadium. Dropped ball and conceded penalties were the Roosters' Achilles heel for the majority of the match but the Chooks showed why they are the defending premiers, displaying a never-say-die attitude to stun the Broncos, who seemed destined for victory after Ben Hunt crossed with six minutes remaining. The topsy-turvy contest was dominated by the Broncos halfback, however it was his opposite number Mitchell Pearce who delivered the final ball for Boyd Cordner inside the last minute to hand the boys from Bondi their second win of the season. The Broncos farewelled retired winger Jharal Yow Yeh prior to kick-off with a guard of honour on arrival by both the Broncos' under-20s and first grade sides followed by an emotional lap of Suncorp Stadium. Spurred on by the pre-game emotion, the home side made a dream start to the contest with a try after six minutes off the back of a Roosters mistake from 40 metres out. On the last, Matt Gillett took position at dummy-half and shaped to pass on the open side in order to find a kicking option. Not finding anyone willing to receive the ball, Gillett turned to the blind side and found Ben Hunt fool Michael Jennings with a dummy to dive over. The Roosters hit back almost instantaneously after former Chook Martin Kennedy knocked on from the first tackle. Moments later the visitors spread the ball out to the left with James Maloney finding speedster Jennings, who stepped passed Dale Copley to lock the scores up at 6-6. NRL 2014 - Round 2: Sydney Roosters vs Parramatta Eels (Full Match)
Round 2 of the 2014 NRL Season Continues. Its the Sydney Roosters vs Parramatta Eels About Project Rugby League: Here at PRL, we feel that the great sport of Rugby League is being severely maimed by greed driven organisations that demand ludicrous subscriptions fees just in order to watch. Better yet, these organisations penalise people around the globe and ban them from enjoying the sport, simply because they copyright their material for only their respective countries to watch. The RFL & their chosen production companies are slowly killing the game of Rugby League. By being so small minded and restricting broadcasts, they are condemning the beautiful sport to a slow and agonising death. Well right here and now the restrictions stop, no longer will the world have to suffer in silence and miss the game they love, no longer will they have to live the game through pathetic poor highlight videos on social media websites, no longer will they miss everything that is good about the game because of greed driven organisations. We here at PRL pay our subscriptions so that we can share this beautiful game with the world. This isn't about getting something for free, it is about finally providing something that should already be provided around the globe for millions to experience. Support your local clubs, buy tickets to their games, it isn't the local clubs that cause these issues, it is the greed driven organisations such as Sky who provide a barely acceptable broadcast at best. Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls of all ages, welcome to the future of Rugby League! In the Past, Right Now, For the Future! Broadcast information: PRL will aim to bring you every televised Rugby League match from both the Super League and NRL seasons. Please keep in mind that on some occasions there will be delays in which these matches are available. We are in the Alpha stages of PRL so that means we have many problems to overcome in the early stages. We will however, keep you all updated on progress and if any matches won't be available. We are currently looking at making the video quality better on both the Super League and NRL shows, primarily the NRL. We have put some tests online currently with different formats, we will see how these progress throughout the coming weeks. Our concerns are that, the higher the quality, the larger the file size, the longer it will take to publish to watch. Again these are things that we will look at in upcoming weeks. We are also aware that certain countries cannot watch certain games. This is an issue with the music that is being played in the original broadcasts. We are looking at possibly muting certain sections or replacing music in these sections to see if these will elevate the restrictions that have been placed on the videos. Again this is something that will be looked at over the coming weeks. I on behalf of everyone here in the PRL team, would like to thank you for your continued support. We will be setting up a social media page soon so that we can keep you up to date more promptly on what is going on at PRL. Once again, Thank you all. PRL Team.- published: 16 Mar 2014

Bulldogs five-eighth Josh Reynolds came up with two clutch plays in the final quarter of the game to set up what should have been a comeback win for the visitors. The first came off a blind-side play in the 65th minute, Reynolds creating a two-on-one to hand winger Corey Thompson a try in the left corner. The second, a dazzling individual effort that stood up Panthers winger Kevin Naiqama and sent Drury Low over in the right, should've been the match-winning play. But a three-man cut-out pass from five-eighth Jamie Soward gave winger Kevin Naiqama a try in the penultimate minute of the match, breaking the hearts of a Bulldogs side that were gallant in defeat. Penrith opened proceedings in spectacular fashion, centre Dean Whare scoring in the fourth minute with what must now be considered a classic finisher's try -- that is, with his frame horizontal to the turf and half his body outside the field of play. It was an effort matched by the soaring catch and pass from winger David Simmons that preceded it, and the cross field kick by Soward that was delivered before that. Unfortunately Moylan's attempt at goal wasn't as sharp, missing to the right. It was a play that became a large theme of the first half, as Soward began peppering the under-sized Thompson. His next test in the 12th minute resulted in Josh Morris being penalised for running Simmons off the ball and Adam Docker dropping the ball over the line in the next set. SUBSCRIBE! http://www.youtube.com/user/footytubenrl?sub_confirmation=1 In a weekend full of last-gasp wins, Manly scored in the final minute at Brookvale Oval to break Parramatta's hearts after the Eels had launched a stunning second-half fightback. With Manly going to the break up 10-nil following a scrappy first half from both sides, the Eels found their mojo in the second, scoring four tries to Manly's one up until a last-minute try to Steve Matai put Manly up 20-18, Jamie Lyon nailing the conversion to make it 22-18 to the home side. The Eels started brightly in the first half and showed plenty of attacking intent but were unable to convert any of several genuine chances. Nathan Peats made his presence felt early on his return from a one-match club suspension with a huge hit on Jamie Lyon in the second minute of play and another crunching tackle on the much bigger Justin Horo late in the half. Jarryd Hayne was dangerous early, contributing to several Eels line breaks despite looking to be troubled by a heavily-strapped left ankle. Debutant Tony Satini replaced regular pivot Kieran Foran, who was ruled out with a calf complaint on the day of the game and joined Brett Stewart and Jorge Taufua on the sidelines. The boot of Daly Cherry-Evans was the main difference between the Eels and an under strength Sea Eagles outfit early, with a series of deadly chips and grubbers regularly pinning the Eels into their own in-goal. The first points came in the seventh minute on the back of a penalty against the Eels, with Manly able to catch Parramatta well short with a left side play. Stand in fullback Peta Hiku did his best Brett Stewart impression, collecting a Lyon pass and drawing defenders to put Steve Matai over untouched. Morris's spectacular four-pointer came seconds before halftime and gave the Dragons a 14-6 lead at the break, a fair result after they had dominated both possession and field position against a plucky Sharks outfit. It was also Morris who opened the visitors' account in just the fourth minute, finishing off a Dragons attacking move like he had done 99 times before as he crashed over in the left corner for the milestone four-pointer to give the Dragons an early 4-0 lead, as Gareth Widdop's sideline conversion attempt striking the upright and bouncing away. The Sharks struck back soon after when veteran John Morris proved slipperier than a greased-up used car salesman when he slid between the lacklustre line defence of the Dragons from dummy half in the 12th minute. Not to be outdone on the opposite wing fellow flyer Jason Nightingale climbed over his opposite Sosaia Feki to pluck a Sam Williams cross-field kick out of the air and wrestle back a two-point advantage, before Morris's spectacular second sent the Dragons into the sheds with some welcome breathing space on the scoreboard. Both sides took to the air throughout the second half, as Todd Carney and Widdop repeatedly targeted their opposition's back three with probing kicks that kept the video referees busy, with potential tries from Leeson Ah Mau and Daniel Holdsworth being disallowed as high balls proved difficult to take in swirling wind. For the second time in as many weeks the Dragons weathered a 20-minute period of extreme pressure as the Sharks had plenty of opportunities at their line, though the home side wasted plenty of chances, completing just 14 of 22 sets in the second stanza. SUBSCRIBE! http://www.youtube.com/user/footytubenrl?sub_confirmation=1 The highly anticipated 2014 season opener lived up to its billing as the two cross-town Sydney rivals traded a series of massive hits for 80 minutes, with the Rabbitohs eventually claiming a very physical match 28-8 on the back of a Greg Inglis hat-trick. Overall the Rabbitohs dominated possession with a 57 per cent share, ran a whopping 2049 metres compared to the Roosters' 1595. They made five line busts, with the Roosters failing to register even one. The Roosters had to make 105 more tackles than their opponents. The referees showed they will continue their crackdown on shoulder charges with Ben Te'o, Dylan Napa and Sonny Bill Williams among those penalised for the offence. In one major promising sign for the home side new playmaker Dylan Walker showed his full array of skills, including a clever short ball that sent Chris McQueen racing through a gap, a towering bomb that put Roosters fullback Anthony Minichiello under pressure, a classy chip close to the line that forced the Roosters into a goal-line drop-out, and a dart from dummy-half that would have earned a try if not for a trysaving tackle from the Tricolours' custodian. The Rabbitohs had been their own worst enemies in an error-prone first 20 which they were lucky to emerge from down only 6-0. The Roosters opened the scoring with a stunning length-of-the-field piece of play when Daniel Tupou charged towards a loose ball following a Rabbitohs fumble and booted it downfield. He found himself in a footrace with Rabbitohs halfback Adam Reynolds, with Tupou getting there first and again toeing it forward. Reynolds was exceptionally lucky to stay on the field when he then tackled Tupou without the ball but it didn't stop the try as Michel Jennings dived on the ball under the posts to put the Roosters up 6-0. The Bunnies hit back just past the 20-minute mark when a Sam Burgess offload put Adam Reynolds in space and Pearce was penalised for holding onto Reynolds in the subsequent tackle, which put the Rabbitohs on the attack.
