Tuvan Throat Singers (Alash Ensemble) came and visited my music class today, and they allowed us to take videos of them performing. Throat singing is a Western term for having the ability to sing more than one note. There are songs in the video with all three singing multiple notes while playing instruments and a couple of examples of only ONE man singing making multiple noises using only his throat. They use their vocal chords along with their false vocal chords in order to make the different pitches. Throat singing is very ancient, which you can kind of tell from hearing them sing. It's beautiful to hear, magnificent to witness, and all around soothing and calming to both the mind and ears in my opinion. I hope you enjoy this video!
