Article Here: http://www.quantumday.com/2013/09/apex-telescope-to-see-further-into.html The Atacama Pathfinder Experiment (APEx) telescope used to capture detailed images of the Universe got a significant boost with the addition of the ArTeMiS camera(Architectures de bolomètres pour des Télescopes à grand champ de vue dans le domaine sub-Millimétrique au Sol or the Bolometer arrays for wide-field submillimetre ground-based telescopes). Artemis will help APEX take images faster and with higher pixel resolutions. In this zoom sequence we start with a spectacular wide-field view of the Milky Way Galaxy, centred on the constellations of Scorpius and Sagittarius. As we close in on the Cat's Paw Nebula (NGC 6334) we shift to the view from the VISTA survey telescope, observing in the infrared part of the spectrum.
