Andrew has an honors degree in Animal Biology from the University of St Andrews in Scotland. He worked as a safari guide in Botswana and has traveled and worked throughout Africa. He worked in the travel industry for Abercrombie & Kent in London before moving to Maine, opening the Hope General Store and becoming active in the local community. Along the way he has worked and volunteered for numer¬ous non-profits. Andrew has worked with Rosie and Opal as an Asst. Elephant handler since their arrival to Maine and is extremely happy to now be actively involved in the conservation outreach and education development of Hope Elephants. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
