The fate of the US-brokered peace process could be decided within days, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said earlier, warning that "either the matter will be resolved or it will blow up". Netanyahu's remarks to ministers from his rightwing Likud party came as US officials were working around the clock to prevent a collapse of the negotiations over a dispute about Palestinian prisoners. "In any case, there won't be any deal without Israel knowing clearly what it will get in exchange," Netanyahu said. According to a Palestinian official, Israel presented Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas with a draft agreement to push forward with the talks. Abbas was to examine the proposal during the night, he said. An Israeli official would not provide details on the proposal but told AFP: "Now the Palestinians need to reply if they are willing to continue negotiations." With the talks teetering on the brink of collapse, Washington has been fighting an uphill battle to coax the two sides into accepting a framework proposal that would extend negotiations beyond 29 April. But the issue has become tied up with the fate of 26 veteran Palestinian prisoners whom Israel was to have freed this weekend under the original terms agreed to relaunch talks. Israel on Friday informed the Palestinians it would not free the prisoners, with the US State Department confirming it was working "intensively" to resolve the dispute. US officials said Secretary of State John Kerry, in Paris on Sunday, spoke with Netanyahu and later told reporters in the French capital that it was not yet appropriate for the US to make any public judgement about the situation "at this important moment". "It's really a question between the Palestinians and the Israelis, and what Prime Minister Netanyahu is prepared to do," he added. US State Department sources did not rule out the possibility that Kerry could fly from France to the Middle East if necessary on Monday. Kerry himself said "we'll see where we are tomorrow (Monday) when some judgements have to be made." Parents of missing teenagers aboard the stricken ferry off the coast of South Korea have been hiring their own rescue boats to join the search overnight.
(Reuters) - One person has been found dead in a South Korean ferry that is sinking off the southwest coast, a coast guard official said on Wednesday
There was a loud impact and noise before the ferry started sinking, a passenger who had been rescued from the vessel told YTN news television.
(Reuters) - A passenger ferry carrying about 470 people was listing badly off South Korea\'s southwest coast and had sent a distress signal, a Korean coast guard official said on Wednesday, and a rescue mission was underway.

Korean television news reports said the ferry was sinking and that many of the passengers on board were students on the way to Jeju island, about 100 km (60 miles) off the coast, on school trips.

Those reports could not be confirmed immediately by the coast guard.

The coast guard official, speaking from Mokpo city on the southwest coast, said a rescue operation had been launched but could provide no further details. YTN television said 100 passengers had already been rescued.

The ferry, which also carries cars and trucks, has a capacity of about 900 people.

A passenger on board told YTN television a rescue helicopter had reached the vessel. The unidentified passenger, who sounded calm, said those on board were in their cabins but were having trouble keeping their balance.

The reason for the ship\'s difficulties was not immediately clear. Heavy fog had set in overnight in the area, leading to cancellations of many passenger ferry services to islands.

However, news reports said visibility in the area was fair.

Iran has neutralised half of its higher-enriched uranium stockpile, as per a deal agreed earlier this year, the world\'s nuclear watchdog says.

The International Atomic Energy Agency has been checking Iran\'s adherence to the deal, struck with six world powers.

The powers want Iran to scale back its enrichment of uranium, which they fear could be used to make a nuclear bomb.

Iran says its nuclear work is peaceful. It agreed to the deal in exchange for the easing of some sanctions.

Iran has diluted half of its higher-grade enriched uranium stockpile, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said in a confidential report.

This will be seen as a positive sign by the West as it lengthens the time Iran would need to make a nuclear bomb, says the BBC\'s Bethany Bell in Vienna.

Diplomats confirmed the conclusion of the report with the BBC. The full report is due to be published next week.

The report also said that progress in commissioning a nuclear conversion plant, part of the interim agreement, had been delayed, Reuters reported.

The IAEA, which has inspectors in Iran, issues monthly updates on whether Iran is complying with the interim deal with the six world powers.

The temporary agreement was signed in January, and ends in July.

Iran and the six powers involved - the US, Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany - are keen to start drafting the terms of a new deal by May, but correspondents say they are still some way apart.

The world powers want Iran to agree to permanently reduce the scope of its enrichment programme and to give UN inspectors more oversight.

Iran\'s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has backed talks with world powers but warned Tehran will never give up its nuclear programme.

So far, the six world powers have been united in their negotiations but Russia\'s annexation of the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine last month has caused tension between Moscow and the West.

Russia and Iran are said to be negotiating an oil-for-goods deal thought to be worth up to $20bn (£12bn), which the US says would undermine the nuclear talks.

Air pollution in China and other Asian countries is having far-reaching impacts on weather patterns across the Northern Hemisphere, a study suggests.
Researchers have found that pollutants are strengthening storms above the Pacific Ocean, which feeds into weather systems in other parts of the world.
The effect was most pronounced during the winter.
The study is published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).

At Least 3 Killed, Gunman Yells \'Heil Hiter\'
At least three dead in two shootings at Jewish centers in Kansas
Third person was reported to be critically wounded; police report one person was in custody; man reportedly yelled \'Heil Hitler\' when police arrested him.
(ABC) The 73-year-old man in custody in the shooting at a Jewish community center and retirement community in Overland Park, Kansas, that left three people dead is reportedly the former Grand Dragon of the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.
Frazier Glenn Cross Jr., of Aurora, Mo., was taken into custody in the parking lot of an elementary school near the scene of the shootings, law enforcement sources said.
Cross is an alias for Frazier Glenn Miller, the former KKK leader, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

In a statement released tonight, the SPLC said it was able to identify Cross as Miller after a phone conversation with Miller\'s wife, Marge, in which she told them police had come to her home and told her that her husband had been arrested in the shootings.

Among the three people killed in the shootinngs were a 14-year-old Eagle Scout and his grandfather, according to the family of the two.

Israel hands Palestinians proposal to extend peace talks | BREAKING NEWS - 31 MARCH 2014 For more Latest and Breaking News Headlines SUBSCRIBE to https://www.youtube.com/user/24X7BreakingNEWS Israel on Sunday handed the Palestinians a proposal aimed at extending peace talks beyond a 29 April deadline, as efforts to salvage the negotiations came to a head. Parents of missing teenagers aboard the stricken ferry off the coast of South Korea have been hiring their own rescue boats to join the search overnight. (Reuters) - One person has been found dead in a South Korean ferry that is sinking off the southwest coast, a coast guard official said on Wednesday There was a loud impact and noise before the ferry started sinking, a passenger who had been rescued from the vessel told YTN news television. (Reuters) - A passenger ferry carrying about 470 people was listing badly off South Korea's southwest coast and had sent a distress signal, a Korean coast guard official said on Wednesday, and a rescue mission was underway. The reason for the ship's difficulties was not immediately clear. Heavy fog had set in overnight in the area, leading to cancellations of many passenger ferry services to islands. However, news reports said visibility in the area was fair. Uranium Enriched Stock In Iran Decreased By Half
Uranium Enriched Stock In Iran Decreased By Half

Iran has neutralised half of its higher-enriched uranium stockpile, as per a deal agreed earlier this year, the world's nuclear watchdog says. The International Atomic Energy Agency has been checking Iran's adherence to the deal, struck with six world powers. This will be seen as a positive sign by the West as it lengthens the time Iran would need to make a nuclear bomb, says the BBC's Bethany Bell in Vienna. Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has backed talks with world powers but warned Tehran will never give up its nuclear programme. So far, the six world powers have been united in their negotiations but Russia's annexation of the Crimean peninsula from Ukraine last month has caused tension between Moscow and the West. Russia and Iran are said to be negotiating an oil-for-goods deal thought to be worth up to $20bn (£12bn), which the US says would undermine the nuclear talks.

Asian air pollution strengthens Pacific storms | BREAKING NEWS - 15 APRIL 2014 For more Latest and Breaking News Headlines SUBSCRIBE to https://www.youtube.com/user/ZakWorldNEWS Air pollution in China and other Asian countries is having far-reaching impacts on weather patterns across the Northern Hemisphere, a study suggests. Researchers have found that pollutants are strengthening storms above the Pacific Ocean, which feeds into weather systems in other parts of the world. The effect was most pronounced during the winter. The study is published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS). Lead author Yuan Wang, from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory at the California Institute of Technology, said: "The effects are quite dramatic. The pollution results in thicker and taller clouds and heavier precipitation." Toxic atmosphere Parts of Asia have some of the highest levels of air pollution in the world. In China's capital, Beijing, pollutants frequently reach hazardous levels, while emissions in the Indian capital, Delhi, also regularly soar above those recommended by the World Health Organization. This has dire consequences for the health of those living in these regions, but there is growing evidence that there are other impacts further afield. To analyse this, researchers from the US and China used computer models to look at the effect of Asia's pollution on weather systems. The team said that tiny polluting particles were blown towards the north Pacific where they interacted with water droplets in the air. This, the researchers said, caused clouds to grow denser, resulting in more intense storms above the ocean. Dr Yuan Wang said: "Since the Pacific storm track is an important component in the global general circulation, the impacts of Asian pollution on the storm track tend to affect the weather patterns of other parts of the world during the wintertime, especially a downstream region [of the track] like North America." Commenting on the study, Professor Ellie Highwood, a climate physicist at the University of Reading, said: "We are becoming increasingly aware that pollution in the atmosphere can have an impact both locally - wherever it is sitting over regions - and it can a remote impact in other parts of the world. This is a good example of that. "There have also been suggestions that aerosols over the North Atlantic effect storms over the North Atlantic, and that aerosols in the monsoon region over South Asia can affect circulation around the whole of the world." At Least 3 Killed, Gunman Yells 'Heil Hiter' At least three dead in two shootings at Jewish centers in Kansas Third person was reported to be critically wounded; police report one person was in custody; man reportedly yelled 'Heil Hitler' when police arrested him. In a statement released tonight, the SPLC said it was able to identify Cross as Miller after a phone conversation with Miller's wife, Marge, in which she told them police had come to her home and told her that her husband had been arrested in the shootings. Among the three people killed in the shootinngs were a 14-year-old Eagle Scout and his grandfather, according to the family of the two. "It is with deep sadness that we confirm the tragic loss of Dr. William Lewis Corporon and Reat Griffin Underwood (Losen) who died as a result of the injuries they sustained in today's shooting at the Jewish Community Center. Dr. Corporon was Reat's Grandfather, whom he loved very much," said a statement signed "Will Corporon, Son and Uncle." The two were shot at the town's Jewish Community Center, Overland Park Police Chief John Douglass said. One died at the scene and the other died after being taken to a hospital, he said. The third victim was a woman who was shot at Village Shalom retirement community, Douglass said. She died on the scene. It was believed the shooter fired at two other people, but neither was hit, the police chief said. "We have no indication that he knew the victims," Douglass said. "We're investigating it as a hate crime, we're investigating it as a criminal act, we haven't ruled out anything," Overland Park Police Chief John Douglass said. "There was a shotgun that was involved," he said. "We are exploring the possibility that a handgun was involved in the shooting at the two persons that he missed, and we are looking at the possibility of an assault rifle." According to the family statement, Underwood was a freshman at Blue Valley High School, and participated in debate, theatre "and had a beautiful voice. Reat had a passion for life, and touched so many people in his young age." He was an Eagle Scout and "loved spending time camping and hunting with his Grandfather, Father, and brother," the statement said. Corporon practiced family medicine in Marlow and Duncan, Okla., from 1976 through 2003, before moving with his wife to the Kansas City area to be closer to their grandchildren, the statement said. Police had still not released the identities of the victims late this evening, but Rev. Adam Hamilton of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood said the two male victims were members of the church. Hamilton led prayers for the victims' family this afternoon during Palm Sunday services. The Jewish Community Center confirmed the shooting on its Facebook page and said it occurred near the Lewis and Shirley White Theater entrance and that the building was put on lockdown. According to the center's website, a production of "To Kill a Mockingbird" was scheduled to start at 2 p.m. OVERLAND PARK, KS (KCTV) - Overland Park police are working shootings at two separate Jewish-related locations. One person is dead and a second person is undergoing emergency surgery at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, authorities confirm. A shooting was reported about 1 p.m. Sunday at the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City, according to an Overland Park Fire Department spokesman. This happened at the Lewis and Shirley White Theatre inside the center. Teens were auditioning for KC Superstar auditions and parents are frantically trying to get to their children. A second shooting was reported at Village Shalom, which is an assisted living center at 5500 West 123rd St. Worried relatives of residents tell KCTV5 that Village Shalom has been placed on lockdown. There were no immediate word on injuries. A Kansas Highway Patrol trooper confirms that a suspect is in custody. Phyllis Cantor, who is undergoing rehabilitation at Village Shalom, said she heard the sound of sirens. She said many police officers are at the scene and there focus appears to be on a white car in the parking lot. shooting Jewish Community Kansas shooting Jewish Community Kansas shooting Jewish Community Kansas shooting Jewish Community Kansas shooting Jewish Community Kansas shooting Jewish Community Kansas shooting Jewish Community Kansas
