Telefónica Europe plc is a European broadband and telecommunications company that trades as O2 (typeset as O₂). The company originated as a collection of worldwide telecommunications companies, known in the later half of the 1990s as BT Wireless, and a global mobile data business known then as Genie Internet, both subsidiaries of British Telecommunications.

Telefónica Europe provides both fixed and mobile telephony operations in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. O2 has additionally established a joint venture with Tesco Mobile in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Hungary and in Slovakia, and the Tchibo Mobilfunk network in Germany.

Originally launched in January 1985 (1985-01), Cellnet was launched as a subsidiary of Telecom Securicor Cellular Radio Limited, a 60:40 venture between British Telecommunications and Securicor respectively.

In 1999 (1999), BT purchased Securicor's shares in Cellnet for £3.15 billion, Securicor originally invested £4 million in Cellnet in 1983 (1983), the company was later rebranded as BT Cellnet, and it became a part of BT Wireless, a group of subsidiary companies owned by BT. BT invested £2 billion in BT Cellnet, and in 2000 (2000), BT Cellnet had over 6 million customers.

Eva Castillo (born Minerva Castillo) is a Filipina singer. She currently is under contract with GMA Network.

Minerva Castillo started singing at the age of nine. She endured a childhood of emotional and financial poverty.

In her teenage years, Castillo used to compete in various amateur singing contests with Regine Velasquez. Castillo won over 300 trophies in these amateur singing contests.

A singing contest in the '80's known as Ang Bagong Kampeon stopped their competition.

At the Regine: Roots to Riches, GMA-7's special offering for Velasquez's birthday, Castillo was rediscovered. She recorded the theme song of the show Sine Novela: Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Lahat Sa Akin.Allan K. hired Eva to perform in his club, Klownz, on Quezon Avenue every Thursday night. Castillo's life story was featured in the show SRO Cinemaserye, titled SRO Cinemaserye: The Eva Castillo Story, where Glaiza de Castro and Manilyn Reynes portray the adolescent and adult Castillo respectively. She also appears on SOP Rules.

Rodrigo de Rato y Figaredo (born 18 March 1949) is a Spanish political figure who served in the government of Spain as Minister of the Economy from 1996 to 2004; a member of the conservative People's Party (PP), he was also First Deputy Prime Minister from 2003 to 2004. Subsequently he was Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) from 2004 to 2007.

Rato was appointed to become the Managing Director of the IMF on 4 May 2004, and took up his duties on 7 June 2004. He left his post at the IMF on 31 October 2007, following the World Bank-IMF Annual Meetings. He was president of Bankia between 3 December 2010 and 7 May 2012 until bankruptcy.

Rodrigo de Rato was born in Madrid, into a rich textile owning family from Asturias. He is the great grandson of Faustino Rodríguez-San Pedro and the son of Ramón Rato. De Rato attended a Jesuit school before studying law in the Complutense University.

In 1971 he went to University of California, Berkeley, where he received an MBA in 1974 from the Haas School of Business. In 1975 he became involved in the family business, first in Fuensanta, an Asturian mineral water company, and then in two Madrid construction firms. He also became involved in expanding the Cadena Rato chain of radio stations.
