I knew that there was much I didn't know but this film makes it pretty clear that there's much more to the story. Fascinating, engaging and deeply engrossing film that left me wanting more with a mental note to watch again. I have never claimed to be a student of history but watching this film makes me wish I had more time to be such. The history of the United States as shown in this film is not what we're taught in school. Other films on the channel such as "The Secret of Oz" and "The Money Masters" hint at how the British Monarchy has tirelessly worked to undermine the great American experiment, but this film brings that whole subject to the fore with a lot more detail. In a sense the way the film lays out British influence and the attitude of the British elite towards us commoners makes the film difficult to watch, because as I look around it is painfully obvious that we may have won the Revolutionary battle the war raged on so that we're back to being colonists again. Bill O'Reilly struck a rather apocalyptic tone in his Talking Points Memo tonight, warning viewers of the danger facing the economy and the country if it continues down the same path already half-forged by President Obama. O'Reilly predicted that no matter how many people try to sound the alarm about where the nation is headed, most people are just too content with their lives to listen or care. O'Reilly opened with a very simple question: are the people to blame for the current state of the government? He cited nations of citizens falling in lockstep behind men like Adolf Hitler and Fidel Castro. O'Reilly clarified that the United States is not approaching a totalitarian state, but dealing with a "very serious economic situation." O'Reilly cited a report from the Government Accountability Office concluding that "absent policy changes----the federal government continues to face an unsustainable fiscal path." He said if there is not a serious attempt to curb spending or entitlements, "the U.S. dollar will collapse," which, as O'Reilly delicately phrased it, will lead to people's savings and investments "blow[ing] up before our eyes." O'Reilly doubted that anyone in the liberal media would want to talk about the GAO report, because Obama does not want to cut spending or reform entitlements, and so the doting media will ignore the damaging report. O'Reilly compared it to people standing on a beach and refusing to leave after they've been warned of an impending tidal wave. Of course, it is a government of the people, and O'Reilly argued that people not caring enough about the government are allowing the government to get out of control. South West United States of America
In October last year I travelled to the South Western corner of the United States to visit some of that countries iconic landscapes.
This video has taken me so long to produce, not because it was a really complex edit, but more so because after arriving back in Australia I was deflated and doubting why I was shooting landscape videos. I couldn't find the enthusiasm to put something up.
As amazing as the landscape is in the US, if the light isn't happening there's not a lot you can do about it. We had terrible light, blue sky day after another. The odd day we had cloud it ended up being too much cloud.
I also couldn't get my head around having to share this amazing landscape with so many people. Coming from the South West of Australia I wasn't prepared for that and it all culminated for me at Mesa Arch in Canyonlands where there where arguments over trying to jostle for the best position. I just stood back in disbelief and wondered if all the parks where going to be like this.
I decided that I should stop being so negative about my experience in the US and stop winging about the lack of good light and put together something positive with what I had shot. This is the result. Hope you like it.
I must note.....
