مدينة بيرود الصغيرة بالقرب من العاصمة دمشق، كانت واحده من أوائل المدن التي تحررت من قبضة السلطات السورية وأصبحت تدير شؤونها الداخلية بنفسها
في يبرود، يحاول الصغير إيجاد مساحة ما في السماء لطيارته الورقية، علها تأخذه إلى سوريته الجديدة الحرة، بلا سجانين ولا طغاة. في يبرود، رجال ونساء وأطفال يحاولون بأيديهم، رسم معنى المواطنة على ساحات مدينتهم الصغيرة وجدرانها..ينظمون السير، يلونون الجدران، يزينون مدينتهم، يرفعون أعلامهم ولافتات ثورتهم، التي تنادي بالمدنية وقبول الرأي الآخر..يبرود، إحدى أقدم المدن السورية،تبني بأيدي أبنائها نموذجاً صغيراً، لسوريا القادمة.
Yabroud, a small city near the Syrian capital, is one of the first cities that have freed itself from Assad regime and started running itself by its citizens.
In Yabroud, a child searches for a space in the sky for his kite, perhaps it can take him to his Syria, a country free from all tyrants and prisons. In Yabroud, men, women and children come together to draw the image of active citizenship they are protesting for on their city walls and squares, they organize traffic, paint the walls, decorate their city, waive the flags of their revolution, raise banners for civil rights and acceptance for opinion differences. Yabroud, one of the ancient Syrian cities, is working its hands on creating a real life image for the upcoming Syria.
