Parunthu (English:Eagle) is a 2008 Malayalam film by M. Padmakumar starring Mammootty and Jayasurya.
Blade Purushottaman (Mammootty), nicknamed Parunthu Purushu for the way he preys on his targets, is a heartless financier. His rude and insulting ways of talking to people who owe him money have hurt many people. Vinayan(Jayasurya) a young youth joins Parunthu Purushu to fight against Azeez, for his family needs. Once Parunthu spoils the betrothal ceremony of Rakhi (Lakshmy Rai), the daughter of a Gujarati businessman Hemanth Bhai (Jagathy Sreekumar), who owes Parunthu a large sum. After the death of Hemanth Bhai, Rakhi takes money from Azeez, who is Purushu's rival from childhood. But for Azeez it was a trap and he wants more than money in return.
Later, Azeez sends a gunda to attack Purushu and brings him close to death. He is saved by Rekha and Vinayan. This changes Purushu and he decides to be a good man from then. The rest of the movie is about whether the people can accept him in his new character.The film become flop
Suraj Venjaramood is a Malayalam film actor and mimicry artist. He mainly plays comic roles, though he has played some lead roles as well.
Venjaramood V. Suraj is the second son of Venjaramood Vasudevan Nair, a retired soldier with the Indian Army.He was called by his father,mother and relatives by the name "Kuttappan". His elder brother V. V. Saji is currently serving in the Indian Army. Suraj also wanted to serve after completing his Secondary School Leaving Certificate but had to give up as he broke his arm by falling from a bicycle. He completed his Mechanical course from Attingal Government ITI and turned to mimicry acting soon after that. His breakthrough came when he acted in Jagapoka, a comedy program which was broadcasted on Kairali TV.
As of 2005, Suraj married his shorttime girlfriend Supriya at Vaikuntam Auditorium, near Shri. Padmanabha Swamy Temple. They have two children: Kashinathan and Vasudev.
Suraj started his career as a stand-up comedian. His mimicry shows were success. He first acted in a film named Jagapoga which was a spoof of movies. He played an important role of Pachan as well as Dadasahib in this film. He is generally regarded for his effective mockery of the Thiruvananthapuram accent and his contributions to the blockbuster movie, Rajamanikyam, where the hero heavily uses the accent. So far Suraj has acted more than 100 films and played the hero role in the hit films Duplicate. He was again given a lead role in Thaskara Lahala. He is known for acting in the films Arabikatha, Ivar Vivahitharayal, Annan Thambi, Veruthe Oru Bharya, LollyPop, Gulumal: The Escape and Sakudumbam Shyamala.
Lakshmi Rai (born May 5, 1981) is an Indian film actress from Bangalore, Karnataka, predominantly appearing in Malayalam and Tamil films. While most of her Tamil releases performed poorly at the box office with the exception of Mankatha which was whopping success,running for over a 100 days. She rose to fame with the popular Malayalam-language films Annan Thambi (2008), 2 Harihar Nagar (2009), Chattambinadu (2009), Evidam Swargamanu (2009) and Arabiyum, Ottakavum, P. Madhavan Nairum (2011), establishing herself in the Malayalam film industry.
Lakshmi Rai was born in Bangalore and was brought up at Belgaum. She initially worked as a model before entering the film industry. She appeared in several television ads such as Sylcon Footwears, Josco Jewellers and Emmanuel Silks.[citation needed]
She made her acting debut in 2005 in the Tamil film Karka Kasadara. Subsequently she appeared in a number of Tamil films, including the comedy film Kundakka Mandakka (2005) opposite R. Parthiban, Perarasu's action-masala flick Dharmapuri (2006), and the romance film Nenjai Thodu (2007). In 2008, she began working in more serious films such as the drama film Velli Thirai, in which she played herself, and the action thriller Dhaam Dhoom directed by Jeeva. She received positive feedbacks forher portrayal of a lawyer in the latter. A review from Behindwoods wrote: "The latter (Lakshmi Rai) sizzles even as she is supposed to play the curt professional who is caught in the web of smuggling drugs". She won her first Filmfare Award nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category.
