Black Sea Flood and the Destruction of the First Great Civilization
Black Sea Flood and the Destruction of the First Great Civilization
The Black Sea Flood - The Mysteries of Black Sea Varna Civilization. The hidden knowledge of Varna Civilization. The Aurolithic Varna Civilization. New discoveries in Varna history one of the oldest histories in the world, more ancient than the Pyramids in Egypt. The Varna Civilization Bulgarian: Europe (Варненски некропол) is a burial site in the Varna, Bulgaria, internationally considered one of the key archaeological sites in world prehistory. The oldest golden treasure in the world, dating from 4,600 BC to 4,200 BC, was discovered at the site. Some graves do not contain a skeleton, but grave gifts (cenotaphs). These symbolic (empty) graves are the richest in gold artifacts. Three thousand gold artifacts were found, with a weight of approximately six kilograms. Grave 43 contained more gold than has been found in the entire rest of the world for that epoch. Three symbolic graves contained masks of unfired clay. The culture had sophisticated religious beliefs about afterlife and developed hierarchical status differences: it offers the oldest known burial evidence of an elite male. The bull-shaped gold platelets perhaps also venerated virility, instinct force, and warfare. Gimbutas holds that the artifacts were made largely by local craftspeople. The discontinuity of the Varna, Karanovo, Vinča and Lengyel cultures in their main territories and the large scale population shifts to the north and northwest are indirect evidence of a catastrophe of such proportions that cannot be explained by possible climatic change, land exhaustion, or epidemics (for which there is no evidence in Europe in the 5th millennium B.C.). Among the metallic (gold and copper) and non-metallic (minerals, rocks, pottery, pigments, biofacts) artifacts in the graves from the Varna Chalcolithic site are numerous beads of a chalcedony (carnelian) and agate composition. In 2009, logician H. Smolenov suggested that the Varna culture people had achieved certain advanced mathematical knowledge testified by the artifacts from the necropolis, some of which might have been used for navigation purposes apart from their possible sacral function. This is where the first European civilization was born, reaching its peak starting in the 5th millennium before the Common Era. It was succeeded by the Thracians, the Greeks (6th century BCE), the Romans (1st-3rd century), the early Byzantine Empire (4th-6th century), nascent Christianity and the introduction of the Cyrillic alphabet. It all happened here, in Varna Archaeological digs in Bulgaria since the 19th century have uncovered material evidence of some 100,000 years of human history. Let's briefly explore that history. The glorious Copper Age World's first gold Some 4,600 years before the Common Era, a mysterious civilization emerged on the shores of lakes near the Black Sea—not far from the modern-day city of Varna. For its time, this Varna culture was amazingly advanced, both culturally and technologically. The first evidence of its existence was found in lovely ceramics, bone and stone idols and copper tools. Then an astounding chance discovery came to light, making headlines around the world. Just a few kilometres from Varna was a Copper Age necropolis (cemetery) containing the oldest gold objects ever discovered. Between 4600 and 4200 BCE, long before Mesopotamia or the Egypt of the pyramids, goldsmithing first began on the shores of the Black Sea, in the land that is today Bulgaria. Study of the 300 or so graves in the Varna I necropolis showed that there was a highly structured society here in the Copper Age. The richest graves contained gold diadems and sceptres, heavy copper axes and spear points, elegant finery and richly decorated ceramics. A large amount of shell jewellery was evidence of trade with the South, for the molluscs in question were from the Mediterranean. Complex funerary rites The society had elaborate funerary rites: (mostly male graves), the skeleton was laid on its back; in others (mostly female graves), the skeleton was curled in a foetal position; and some graves even contained no skeleton at all. These symbolic graves, or cenotaphs, were richer than the ordinary graves and contained gold and copper objects. Another unusual rite: three of these symbolic graves contained only a human-sized clay mask, buried in the place where the head would have been. Perhaps a memorial to an individual who died far away, or ancestor worship. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Varna_Necropolis http://www.pacmusee.qc.ca/en/exhibitions/varna-worlds-first-gold-ancient-secrets http://www.amvarna.com/eindex.php?lang=2&lid;=2&slid;=&slid;=1- published: 29 Jan 2014

Russian Navy(Black Sea Fleet).
Unlike other military structures of Russian naval infantry has its own system of unarmed combat (Create a regular Russian naval infantry was associated with the struggle for access to the Russian Azov Sea and Baltic Sea in the late XVII - early XVIII centuries. However, even earlier - in the second half of the XVI century - as crew flotilla set up on the orders of Ivan the Terrible, formed a special team archers (marines), which can be considered the prototype of the Marines [source not specified 866 days].In 1669, the first Russian military sailing ship "Eagle" had a team of 35 people marines (Nizhny Novgorod archers) led by Commander Ivan Domozhirov designed to boarding-landing operations and guard duty.During the Azov campaigns on ships of the Azov Sea and Baltic fleets have successfully acted as marine units most capable and Transfiguration Semenov regiment, of which the composition was formed Marine regiment (Regiment) in the amount of 4254 people. The commander of the 4th company was registered under the name of Pyotr Alexeyev himself Peter A. Romanov. In the years 1701-1702, the struggle of the Russian army troops acting on small rowing boats (Strugi, sailboat, etc.), the Swedish fleet on lake Ladoga and Lake Peipsi. These squads were formed from the personnel of the service took place in the fleet of army infantry regiments Ostrovsky, Tolbukhina, Tyrtova Shnevetsova and, as a result of a number of boarding battles defeated the Swedish fleet, consisting of large sailing ships that had strong artillery and manned by professional crews. Fighting in these regiments were different boldness, courage and determination. To truly appreciate the role of marine soldiers during the Northern War, Peter I was able, by taking part in boarding combat in May 1703, when the mouth of the Neva were captured by two Swedish ship. The important role played by the Marines in the defense of the island of Kotlin where clearly manifested heroism, courage and bravery regiments Tolbukhina and Ostrovsky, have added many glorious pages in the history of the Russian military. After the defense Kotlin summer 1705 again raised the question of creating the fleet of specially trained marine units.16 (27) November 1705 decree of Peter I, was formed Marine Regiment. This day was the birthday of the Marine Corps Russia.Officers of the Marine Corps came with a non-commissioned officers of the Life Guards and the Semenov regiment, who have been trained, educated and gained combat experience during the Great Northern War. Adopted under Peter I decree "On primogeniture" and "Table of Ranks" allowed to form the officer corps of the best representatives of the Russian nation, in particular the nobility, as the basis of Russian autocracy. Overriding rule of Peter I - «In the service - honor" came in the flesh and blood of the Russian officers of the Marine Corps XVIII century. Rank and file of Russian marines different social, ethnic and religious homogeneity, which gave it the character of a single organism, fostered a sense of patriotism and of duty to protect the homeland. All these features of the Russian Marines helped maintain a high morale of personnel as opposed to the fleets of the European states, completed with the hiring and representing a variety of on the national and ethnic and religious composition of the troops that it was impossible to teach, nor to lead the fight differently than by brutal drill. In the development and formation of modern combat Marines significant role and achievements belong to General JS Skuratov. The Great Patriotic War [edit] Form and weapons of the Soviet Marines after 1943By the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, the Soviet Navy had only one brigade of marines in the Baltic Fleet, but with the beginning of the war the development and training of troops, battalions and brigades. During the war the Marines who took part in the fighting was about 100,000 people. The military situation demanded sending a large number of Marines on land fronts. During the war, the Marines proved themselves in the defense of Moscow, Leningrad, Odessa, Sevastopol, Murmansk, Stalingrad, Novorossiisk, Kerch. For Service in Battle 5 brigades and two Marine battalions converted into guard, 9 and 6 battalions, brigades were awarded medals, awarded many honorary titles. 122 Marines were awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. US Warship Truxtun cross Dardanelles Strait into the black sea
The US Navy has confirmed that a guided missile destroyer, the USS Truxtun, is heading to the Black Sea, for what the US military said is a "routine" deployment, decided long before the crisis in Ukraine, which has divided world powers. The US Navy said in a statement that the USS Truxtun left Greece on Thursday on the way to the Black Sea and was going to conduct training with the Romanian and Bulgarian navy. "While in the Black Sea, the ship will conduct a port visit and routine, previously planned exercises with allies and partners in the region," The US Navy said in statement. "Truxtun's operations in the Black Sea were scheduled well in advance of her departure from the United States," the statement added. The ship has a crew of about 300 and is part of an aircraft carrier strike group that left the US in mid-February. The announcement comes after Turkish authorities confirmed on Wednesday they had given permission to a US navy warship to pass through the Bosphorus Straights, which is the only entrance to the Black Sea, it was reported in the Hurriyet Daily News. However, Turkish sources told the Hurriyet Daily News that the ship in question was not the nuclear aircraft carrier, the USS George H.W. Bush, as was suggested in some news reports. The USS George Bush is too heavy in terms of tonnage to meet the standards of the Montreux Convention, which governs what can and can't access the Black Sea. The Pentagon also said on Wednesday that US fighter jets would join NATO patrols on missions in the Baltic countries, which include Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. On Sunday the Tass news agency reported that the guided missile frigate USS Taylor, which had been assigned to the Black Sea for the Sochi Winter Olympics, was still in the Turkish port of Samsun for repairs, after running aground on February 12. Two Russian navy ships also entered the Black Sea through the Bosphorus on Tuesday, as well as a Ukrainian navy vessel which was heading for Odessa and not the Crimea. Black sea. St. Anastasia Island, near Burgas, Bulgaria.
St. Anastasia Island (Bulgarian: остров св. Анастасия, ostrov Sv. Anastasiya, formerly called Bolshevik Island, остров Болшевик) is a Bulgarian islet in the Black Sea. It is located 1.5 km off the coast near Chernomorets, at 12 metres above sea level, and embraces a territory of 0.022 km². It is the only inhabited island off the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. The island is supplied with electricity and drinking water. It is named after the former St. Anastasia convent located on it. The convent had existed since the Middle Ages and was reconstructed during the 18th-19th century. which has been abandoned since 1923, when the island was transformed into a prison. Today, there is a lighthouse situated on the island, as well as a pub, a small quay and several buildings to accommodate tourists.- published: 09 Oct 2013
