Human resources is the set of individuals who make up the workforce of an organization, business sector, or economy. "Human capital" is sometimes used synonymously with human resources, although human capital typically refers to a more narrow view (i.e., the knowledge the individuals embody and economic growth). Likewise, other terms sometimes used include "manpower", "talent", "labour", or simply "people".
Staffing is a process of hiring, positioning and overseeing employees in an organisation.
Pioneering economist John R. Commons used the term "human resource" in his 1893 book The Distribution of Wealth but did not further build upon it. The term "human resource" was subsequently in use during the 1910s and 1920s as was the notion that workers could be seen as a kind of capital asset. Among scholars the first use of "human resources" in its modern form was in a 1958 report by economist E. Wight Bakke. The term began to become more developed in the 19th century due to misunderstandings between the employers and employees.

The Shenzhou 10 spacecraft, a planned Chinese manned spaceflight, has been taken to the Jiuquan Satellite Launching Center. The spaceship was split into three parts and taken to the airport by trucks. Workers say, although the route was planned, the trucks stopped three times for checks. At the airport, two flights carried the parts to Jiuquan. Shenzhou 10 is scheduled to launch between June and August. It will carry a crew of three astronauts to dock with Tiangong 1 module, which was launched in September, 2011.
Today is an exciting day for space exploration. China successfully launched 3 astronauts into orbit for the country's fifth and longest crewed mission since 2003. The Shenzhou 10 spacecraft blasted off from the Gobi desert today on a 15-day journey to eventually dock with the orbiting space lab, Tiangong 1. There, the three astronauts will test docking capabilities and technologies needed for a future space station. While China's space accomplishments undoubtedly pale in comparison to the United States and Russia, its program is growing, and with the goals China has set for its space program, it's bound to continue flourishing. -- China has spent the last five decades expanding the program with a few key milestones, including launching a man and woman into space, performing a spacewalk, an...
China's fifth-ever manned mission has successfully blasted off from a location in the Gobi desert and will now head to the country's prototype orbital station, where the crew will spend 14 days - a Chinese space record. The Shenzhou-10 craft, carrying two male astronauts, and the second Chinese woman to go to space, will dock with the experimental Tiangong-1 space lab 40 hours after lift-off. The astronauts took off from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Centre in northern China. They will dock with the experimental Tiangong 2 space lab and spend 30 days there, the longest stay in space by Chinese astronauts. This and previous launches are seen as pointers to possible crewed missions to the Moon or Mars. An earlier Tiangong - or Heavenly Palace - space station was decommissioned earlier this year after docking with three rockets. The astronauts on this latest mission were Jing Haipeng, 49, who has already been to space twice, and 37-year-old Chen Dong.

A pair of "good fellas" are behind the launch of China's Shenzhou-11 manned spacecraft scheduled on Monday morning, doing their best to ensure the mission a success. Zhao Rong and Wang Xiong, the "good fellas", are radar operators. Zhao is in charge of radar servo control system while Wang the radar ranging system. Together, they form a dream team in the command center in north China's Shanxi Province which is more than 1,000 km away from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China where Shenzhou-11 will blast off. Inside the center, the two technicians stared at the screen and operate a handset with very delicate movements, because even the slightest slip in their hands could mean the failure of the 230-second launch mission. INFO: Shenzhou is a spacecraft developed and operated by the People's Republic of China to support its manned spaceflight program. The name is variously translated as "Divine Craft", "Divine Vessel of God", "Magic Boat" or similar and is also homophonous with an ancient name for China. Its design resembles the Russian Soyuz spacecraft, but it is larger in size and isn't directly related to the Soyuz spacecraft family. The first launch was on November 19, 1999 and the first manned launch was on October 15, 2003. In March 2005, an asteroid was named 8256 Shenzhou in honour of the spacecraft. China's Shenzhou-11 spaceship arrived at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest China on Saturday, just two months before it carries two astronauts into space for a 30-day mission. General assembly and testing will begin at the center ahead of the launch scheduled for mid-October, said a statement by China's manned space engineering office. The spaceship will transport personnel and supplies to China's second orbiting space lab Tiangong-2, which is to be launched in mid-September. The astronauts selected for the mission are both male and have been undergoing intense training, the statement said. Tiangong-2, which will allow two astronauts to live in space for up to 30 days, was delivered to the center in early July and the carrier rockets arrived last week. More on: http://ww...
China's Shenzhou-11 manned spacecraft has arrived at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on Saturday, readying itself for liftoff later in the year for a docking with the country's manned first space lab Tiangong-2. Tiangong-2 will be launched in September, to be followed by Shenzhou-11 with two astronauts on board. Before departing for Jiuquan, Shenzhou-11 has allowed a brief peek for China Central Television to get some rough ideas about its similarities and differences with its predecessors. Like its predecessors, Shenzhou-11 also has three modules, namely the orbital module, the returning capsule and the propelling module. Though it is designed with three cabins for as many astronauts, Shenzhou-11 will be launched with just two astronauts on board. "It's a manned spacecraft. If the...
