Urban Exploration : Abandoned House CLICK SHOW MORE TO READ HISTORY AND DISCLAIMER http://www.AbandonedSteve.com https://www.facebook.com/SteveAbandonedExploration https://twitter.com/AbandonedSteve Built in 1930 by Dr. Dimedio, this mansion, called the "Bella Vista" sitting on 12 acres lies abandoned and on the list to be torn down. After the addition put on the mansion in 1940, the house totals 15,000 sq feet with 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. Dr. Dimedio was a famous surgeon who founded the old Mercy Hospital. He was the general contractor for this mansion and hired day laborers to build it in the 30s. However the house was not built very well. The roof was way to heavy and had to be temporary reinforced to prevent it from collapsing. The addition was built on poor soil and the foundation was settling more there normal creating large cracks in the walls and foundation. Rumors all were talked about from this place. It is said that Rev Fred Drummond lived in this house 30 years ago. He supposedly ran a cult at the church near the property and in the house according to documents. His leaders have also been recently involved in a child molestation case at the church that been going on for years and still is going on. A google search of his name will bring up tons of newspaper articles about what he use to do in that cult. Today the house sits abandoned since 2005. A developer currently owns it and plans to demolished it in the near future. B/c of the poor building in the 30s, the house does not meet today's building codes and will cost millions to fix. It features over 100 locomotives / cars dated 19th and 20th century that are old and abandoned looking as well as fully restored back to its glory. This museums goal is to bring these locomotives that were once the most used transportation source in the late 1800s to mid 1900s back to life. Through out the video you will tour the outside which has a few old locos waiting to be restored some sitting there for many years. There is also a turn table outside. Inside however are a lot of fully restored trains ranging from steam, to diesel, and to electric powered. This might not be the abandoned type video you are use to seeing from me but this place is worth checking out.
