Jordan ( /ˈdʒɔr.dən/;Arabic: اَلأُرْدُنّ, Al-'Urdunn), officially the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (Arabic: اَلمَمْلَكَة اَلأُرْدُنِيَّة اَلهَاشِمِيَّة), Al-Mamlakah Al-Urdaniyyah Al-Hashimiyyah) is a kingdom on the East Bank of the River Jordan. The country borders Saudi Arabia to the east and south-east, Iraq to the north-east, Syria to the north and the West Bank and Israel to the west, sharing control of the Dead Sea with the latter. Jordan's only port is at its south-western tip, at the Gulf of Aqaba, which is shared with Israel, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. Over half of Jordan is covered by the Arabian Desert. However, the western part of Jordan is arable land and forests. Jordan is part of the Fertile Crescent. The capital city is Amman. According to the CIA World Factbook, Jordan has the second highest life expectancy in the Middle East, after Israel. The average life expectancy is one position behind the United Kingdom, although the age remains exactly the same (80.05 years).
The precursor to modern Jordan was founded in 1921 as the Hashemite Emirate, and it was recognized by the League of Nations as a state under the British mandate in 1922 known as The Emirate of Transjordan. In 1946, Jordan became an independent sovereign state officially known as the Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan. After capturing the West Bank area of Cisjordan during the 1948–49 war with Israel, Abdullah I took the title King of Jordan and Palestine, and he officially changed the country's name to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in April 1949.
Michael Jeffrey Jordan (born February 17, 1963) is a retired American professional basketball player, active entrepreneur, and majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. His biography on the National Basketball Association (NBA) website states, "By acclamation, Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time." Jordan was one of the most effectively marketed athletes of his generation and was considered instrumental in popularizing the NBA around the world in the 1980s and 1990s.
After a three-season career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was a member of the Tar Heels' national championship team in 1982, Jordan joined the NBA's Chicago Bulls in 1984. He quickly emerged as a league star, entertaining crowds with his prolific scoring. His leaping ability, illustrated by performing slam dunks from the free throw line in slam dunk contests, earned him the nicknames "Air Jordan" and "His Airness". He also gained a reputation for being one of the best defensive players in basketball. In 1991, he won his first NBA championship with the Bulls, and followed that achievement with titles in 1992 and 1993, securing a "three-peat". Although Jordan abruptly retired from basketball at the beginning of the 1993–94 NBA season to pursue a career in baseball, he rejoined the Bulls in 1995 and led them to three additional championships (1996, 1997, and 1998) as well as an NBA-record 72 regular-season wins in the 1995–96 NBA season. Jordan retired for a second time in 1999, but returned for two more NBA seasons from 2001 to 2003 as a member of the Washington Wizards.
Jalen Anthony Rose (born January 30, 1973) is a retired American professional basketball player and current sports analyst for the television network ESPN. In college, he was a member of the University of Michigan Wolverines' "Fab Five" (along with Chris Webber, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King and Ray Jackson) that reached the 1992 and 1993 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship games as both Freshmen and Sophomores. Rose played in the NBA for six teams, most notably alongside Reggie Miller on the Indiana Pacers teams which made three consecutive Eastern Conference finals, including the 2000 NBA Finals.
As a star at Southwestern High School in Detroit, Rose obtained a high profile and can even be seen at a high school All-American camp in the documentary film, Hoop Dreams. Rose attended the University of Michigan where the Wolverines reached two NCAA Finals games in 1992 and 1993, finishing as national runners up both times. Rose was a part of Wolverines coach Steve Fisher's legendary 1991 recruiting class, dubbed the "Fab Five". He led the Fab Five in scoring his freshman year, averaging 19 points per game, and set the school freshman scoring record with 597 total points. Aside from being the most outspoken of the Fab Five, Rose was also their point guard and leader. During his career, he racked up over 1700 points, 400 rebounds, 400 assists, and 100 steals. Of the players called before the grand jury (Robert Traylor, Webber, Rose, Maurice Taylor, and Louis Bullock) in the University of Michigan basketball scandal, he was the only one not listed as having received large amounts of money.
Terrell Eldorado Owens ( /ˈtɛrəl/; born on December 7, 1973) is an American football wide receiver who is currently a Free Agent. A six-time Pro Bowl selection, Owens holds or shares several National Football League records, and features in the all-time top-five in several receiving categories, including yards and touchdowns.
As productive as he has been, Owens has been equally controversial, creating firestorms with almost every team he has played for as a professional. Owens played college football and basketball at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and was selected in the third round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. Owens was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2004 after a spat with 49ers front office members. Two years later, he was released and signed to another large pact by the Dallas Cowboys, only to be given his unconditional release on March 4, 2009. Owens has also played for the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals in 2009 and 2010, respectively. He recently played for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League, before being released in 2012.
Blake Austin Griffin (born March 16, 1989) is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Griffin had a renowned high school career at Oklahoma Christian School, winning state titles each of his four years under his father, Tommy Griffin, who was the head coach. He played college basketball for the University of Oklahoma Sooners and was awarded numerous accolades in his second year including the Naismith College Player of the Year, Oscar Robertson Trophy and the John Wooden Award.
Griffin left college after two seasons to enter the 2009 NBA Draft where he was selected first overall by the Clippers. In his first season, he broke his left kneecap, which he injured during the final pre-season game, and underwent surgery missing the entire 2009–10 season. He made his NBA debut as a rookie the following season and was selected as an All-Star, won the 2011 NBA Slam Dunk Contest and was named the NBA Rookie of the Year. In 2011, Sports Illustrated ranked him as one of the NBA's 15 Greatest Rookies of All Time.

Come in as you tread life's journey
Take Jesus as your daily guide
Though you may feel pure and safely
Without Him walking by your side
But when you come to make the crossing
At the ending of your pilgrim's way
If you ever will meet our Savior
You'll surely meet Him on that day
Now look at that cold Jordan
Look at these deep waters
Look at that wide river
Oh hear the mighty billows roar
You'd better take Jesus with you
He's a true companion
For I'm sure without Him
That you never will make it o'er
That awful Day of Judgment
Is coming in the by and by
We'll se our Lord descending
In Glory from on high
So let us keep in touch with Jesus
And in his grace the Love of God
That we may be ever called ready
When He calls us over Jordan's Tide
Now look at that cold Jordan
Look at these deep waters
Look at that wide river
Oh hear the mighty billows roar
You'd better take Jesus with you
He's a true companion
For I'm sure without Him
That you never will make it o'er
Oh what, what you gonna do
Oh what, what you gonna do
Oh how, how you gonna feel

If I cry, it's not from sorrow - I'm alive with the wonder of it all
I'm alive, but if I'm gone tomorrow, children
Keep your head up, don't you look back
Take another step across the River Jordan
When the evening gathers, should the thunder call
The rain can sound like laughter falling on us all
If I cry, it's not from sorrow - I'm alive with the wonder of it all
I'm alive, but if I'm gone tomorrow, children
Keep your head up, don't you look back
Take another step across the River Jordan
You've got to keep your head up, don't you look back

Forty years the wilderness held my sad children
Promises of lands that flow with milk and honey
Hold me Jordan, hold me Jordan
The builders of the wall, the temple fell
The sun and moon stood still circled by
By the twelve stones of Jordan, hold me Jordan
Tomorrow you will walk on water
Oh, twelve stones, twelve stones of Jordan
Tomorrow you will take me down to the river
Oh, twelve stones, twelve stones of Jordan
Well, divided were the waters at the feet of the priests
And did you see me Joshua, standing in the Jordan
See the open wounds flowing from your hands
Flowing from your feet, hold me Jordan
Tomorrow you will walk on water
Oh, twelve stones, twelve stones of Jordan
Tomorrow you will take me down to the river
Oh, twelve stones, twelve stones of Jordan
Oh, now you hungry my sad children
And are you thirsty, run to the river
And are you angry my sad children
youve got
high rise eyes
i guess its hard to see the stars through all those city lights
listen you got
one hell of a drive
i guess this is goodbye
with dry eyes your tanktops and bra straps
your catnaps on the hammok
your heart was set like a mouse trap
you've got high rise eyes
Du weißt nicht weiter
Das hab ich erkannt
Du willst nicht mehr komm
Gib mir deine Hand
Ich seh die Sehnsucht
Die Gier in deinem Blick
Du suchst Hoffnung
Du suchst Glück
Jenseits des Stroms
Wart ich auf dich
Ob im Garten des Herrn
Im Feuer der Hölle
Nichts wird mehr sein wie es war
Ob in Brennender Glut
Im ewigen Eis
Nichts wird mehr sein wie es war
Ob Himmelhoch jauchzend
Zu Tode betrübt
Nichts wird mehr sein wie es war
Wenn du bei mir sein willst
Wenn du bei mir sein willst
Mußt du über den Jordan gehn
Über den Jordan gehn
Komm, geh weiter
Komm, bleib nicht zurück
Nur noch zwei Meter
Bis zu deinem Glück
Jenseits des Stroms
Wart ich auf dich
Faß dir ein Herz
Geh in das Licht
Jenseits des Stroms
Wart ich auf dich
Ob im Garten des Herrn
Im Feuer der Hölle
Nichts wird mehr sein wie es war
Ob in Brennender Glut
Im ewigen Eis
Nichts wird mehr sein wie es war
Ob Himmelhoch jauchzend
Zu Tode betrübt
Nichts wird mehr sein wie es war
Wenn du bei mir sein willst
Wenn du bei mir sein willst
Mußt du über den Jordan gehn
Über den Jordan gehn
I looked to the East, I looked to the West
I saw John Ball a-coming and a-calling.
With four blind horses riding in the clouds
To look on the other side of Jordan.
Pull off your old coat and roll up your sleeves
Jordan is a hard road to travel I believe.
Thunder in the clouds, lightning in the trees
What do you think that I told him?
It's goodbye son till the next kingdom come
And I'll meet you on the other side of Jordan.
Pull off your old coat and roll up your sleeves
Jordan is a hard road to travel I believe.
The ladies of England have made a big address
'Bout slavery and hardships according.
They better look at home to their own white slaves
They're starving on the English side of Jordan.
Pull off your old coat and roll up your sleeves
Jordan is a hard road to travel I believe.
[instrumental]
There were snakes in Ireland not many years ago
St Patrick saw the vermin all a-crawling.
But with his shillelagh he hit them on the head
And he drove them 'cross the other side of Jordan.
Pull off your old coat and roll up your sleeves
Jordan is a hard road to travel I believe.
And Jonah spent three days in the belly of a whale
Three days and two nights then according.
He tickled him with a straw, which caused him to laugh
And he chucked him on the other side of Jordan.
Pull off your old coat and roll up your sleeves
Jordan is a hard road to travel I believe.
[instrumental]
Pull off your old coat and roll up your sleeves
The wolves look to the moon
And the ocean to the sky
I've looked to you my whole life
Now I have to say good-bye
But to say that I've lost you
Is a selfish thing to say
I've never seen nothing as beautiful
As watching you slip away
I'd rather see you go in the arms of your angels
Than to stay right here with me
I'll meet you on the other side of the Jordan
Now let your soul go free
You did it all with feeling
And failure, you took it gracefully
You said, third star to the right
And straight on until morning
When you need me, you know
That's where I'll be
Now the rest of my life without you
Right now it's hard to conceive
You said, don't cry for me now
You've got to remember
There is no death for those that believe
I'd rather see you go in the arms of your angels
Then to keep you right here with me
I'll meet you on the other side of the Jordan
Come, my love, away,
Recline against the feigning mood and we'll be swept
away,
Esther Moore baked casseroles, and wise men laid their
tokens out for me when you were born.
There is a love after all,
Waiting so long has been hard,
I've found the world in your arms,
Waiting so long has been hard.
Come, my child, and see across the ocean,
You will be with me for always,
In the book I'll take a look, and tell you all the things
that we will see in our days.
There is a love after all, (there is a love)
Waiting so long has been hard,
I've found the world in your arms,
