Yasmin (Persian: یاسمین yâsamin) is a feminine given name.
Yasmin is the name in Persian for a flowering plant, and from which the name Jasmine derives.
The pronunciation of Yasmin is often parallel with the English Jasmine, but in Persian, Arabic and Turkish the "s" is not taken as a "z", and so is often pronounced as /ˈjæsmɪn/.

The 21st century is the current century of the Anno Domini era or the Common Era, in accordance with the Gregorian calendar. It began on January 1, 2001, and will end on December 31, 2100. It is the first century of the 3rd millennium. It is distinct from the century known as the 2000s, which began on January 1, 2000 and will end on December 31, 2099.
The first years of the 21st century have thus far been marked by the rise of a global economy and Third World consumerism, mistrust in government, deepening global concern over terrorism and an increase in the power of private enterprise. The longterm effects of increased globalization are not known, but there are many who are concerned about its implications. The Arab Spring of the early 2010s led to mixed outcomes in the Arab world. The Digital Revolution which began around the 1980s also continues into the present. The Millennials (born c. 1981-2000) having been born before the turn of the century give way to the rise of Generation Y & Generation Z in Western countries.
2003 (MMIII) was a common year starting on Wednesday (dominical letter E) of the Gregorian calendar, the 2003rd year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 3rd year of the 3rd millennium, the 3rd year of the 21st century, and the 4th year of the 2000s decade.
2003 was designated the:

'Yasmin' - a compelling and topical personal drama of what it means to be Asian, Muslim and British in the 21st century, told from the viewpoint of a Westernised woman working in Britain while living in her own traditional culture. Written by Simon Beaufoy (highly acclaimed writer of The Full Monty), the script was developed out of months of research and workshops with the Muslim community in the North of England, resulting in an emotionally resonant story, which comes directly out of the community's experiences. Set in a Northern mill town, against a backdrop of poverty, high unemployment and racism, Yasmin's story deals with universal themes such as guilt, transgression and the search for identity. Having rebelled against her Pakistani culture as a teenager, Yasmin agrees to mar...

Johnny's been runnin' hard all his life
'Cause life never treated him right
Well he ain't running now
You see his eyes are closed
They can't hurt him tonight
Sleepin', he's sleepin'
Just let him be for a while
Don't wake him, don't take him
To where the people don't smile
Sleepin', my man is sleepin' nice now
Please let him stay here with me
I promise, I'll keep him
At home, where he's supposed to be
He's been out there in the street you know
And strugglin', scufflin' trying to survive
Out there in a rich man's world
And now you say my Johnny is not alive
But you're wrong, can't you see?
Sleepin', he's just sleepin' mister
Without a care to his name
He's peaceful and he's quiet
He's tired of runnin' his game
He's been out there in the streets you know
With all the pain and all the suffering
Out there where you fight like hell
He never learned a fix, don't fix a thing
Don't touch him
Johnny put too much joy in his vanes
And now you're trying to tell me he's gone
I don't believe you, I'm just gonna sit here
And rock him in my arms
You see he lives hard, kinda gives hard
