The rain-triggered landslide happened earlier this week near Oso, Washington state, the mudslide sent muddy debris into numerous homes, killing at least 24 people. The slide in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains along the North Fork of the Stillaguamish River piled mud, boulders and rubble up to 15 feet deep in some places. It blocked the flow of the river, backing up water behind a natural dam left in the stream's channel that caused flooding of seven homes upstream of the slide, according to local officials. MALAYSIAN Press Conference French Satellite Identify 122 Images Of Debris - 26 Mar - French firm Airbus Defence and Space has provided new satellite images of potential debris from Malaysian Airlines Flight MH370 in the Indian Ocean. At the daily press briefing on the search for MH370, acting Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said an analysis had identified 122 potential objects in a 400 square kilometre area. The search for missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 has resumed after weather conditions in the southern Indian Ocean improved. The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (Amsa) says 12 aircraft are taking part in Wednesday's operations. The plane vanished on 8 March as it flew from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board. Some relatives of the passengers are refusing to accept their deaths, saying no wreckage has been found. There were angry scenes after Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak said analysis of satellite data showed the plane had almost certainly ended its journey in the southern Indian Ocean. On Tuesday, dozens of Chinese relatives staged a protest outside the Malaysian embassy in Beijing to demand more information. There were 153 Chinese nationals on board the plane. A multinational search is now focused on a remote area of ocean some 1,500 miles (2,500km) to the south-west of the Australian city of Perth. However, rough seas and heavy rain forced the air and sea search to be suspended on Tuesday. Search area narrowed On Wednesday morning, Amsa said conditions had improved, and posted on its Facebook page that the first flights had resumed. It said seven military and five civilian planes would be taking part and a total of six countries were now involved - Australia, New Zealand, the US, Japan, China and the South Korea. Possible debris from missing Malaysia Airlines plane on Australia satellite images

Australian authorities say they have found two objects on satellite images that could be debris from the missing Malaysia Airlines plane. The objects were spotted approximately 2,500 km south of Perth in the southern Indian Ocean. "The satellite image has a blob (shape) with an assessment of 24 metres against it which is the assessment that's been made by the expert that assessed it. Further images are expected after commercial satellites were redirected to take high resolution images of the areas of interest," John Young from the Australian Marine Safety Authority told a news conference. Four search aircraft have been sent to the area and a merchant ship and Australian navy vessel are also on their way. The water there is said to be several thousand metres deep and poor visibility is likely to hamper the operation. Australia has been in charge of searching in the southern Indian Ocean for the aircraft.

Amazingly, the mother emerged relatively unscathed from the attack, apparently suffering nothing worse than a little gash on her side - and a rather bruised ego.
