Archaeologists have recently claimed that ascetics known as Ajivikas used Barabar and Nagarjuna caves in Jehanabad district to practise ritualistic deaths at the time of Emperor Asoka and thereafter. The Ajivikas practice of fast-unto-death resembles that of the Jains ... In most ways, Thiyaganur is a typical village in Tamil Nadu.
