"The U.S. and Europe have always suppressed the rising price of gold. They intend to weaken gold's function as an international reserve currency. They don't want to see other countries turning to gold reserves instead of the U.S. dollar or Euro. Slain Sons of Top Mexican Journalists Buried in Chihuahua
Mourners pay their final respects to the murdered sons of two top Mexican journalists as authorities arrest a suspect linked to the killings that officials report are drug-related. Full Story: The bodies of the sons of two top Mexican journalists were laid to rest in the violence-plagued border state of Chihuahua on Tuesday (May 07) just days after they were shot dead by unknown assailants in the northern state of Chihuahua. Twenty-year-old Alfredo Paramo and 21-year-old Diego Paramo were shot dead in Chihuahua early on Saturday (May 04) after being chased through the streets by gunmen in a car. They are the sons of well-known Mexican financial journalist David Paramo, who hosts a radio show, appears on TV Azteca and has a national newspaper column, and Martha Gonzalez, the editor of the local El Peso newspaper. Chihuahua Governor Cesar Duarte reported a breakthrough in the murder case on Tuesday (May 07) with the arrest of a suspect into the killings. Duarte told media victim Diego Paramo was reportedly killed because of a large drug debt. The northern border state of Chihuahua is a drug-trafficking hotspot with the Juarez and Sinaloa cartels fighting for control of rich trafficking routes through the area. Roughly 70,000 people have died in drug-related killings since a military-led campaign against drug traffickers was launched in 2006. More than 4,200 have died in the first four months of new President Enrique Pena Nieto's term, a slower pace than early 2012. The Top 8 Exotic Destinations in The World
1. Egypt Capital: Cairo Currency: Egyptian pound President: Mohamed Morsi Official language: Modern Standard Arabic Government: Semi-presidential system, Unitary state, Constitutional republic, Republic Population: 82,536,770 (2011) Despite having some of the world's best-known monuments, Egypt struggles to fill its abundant hotels. With less-than-wealthy locals far outnumbering the tourists, it's easy to find a bargain meal or a guide or taxi driver. 2. Indonesia Capital: Jakarta Dialing code: 62 Currency: Indonesian rupiah Official language: Indonesian Language Population: 242,325,638 (2011) This Southeast Asian nation is one of the most diverse and attractive destinations in the world, with a long string of volcanic islands and a range of topography and culture. It could also be the best value on the planet, with cheap hotels going for $5 a night, often right beside great snorkeling spots. Bali is the most developed island, but even there you can find plenty of deals. On Java, Sumatra, and Sulawesi, however, it's easy to branch out like an intrepid explorer or get pampered on the cheap in the most popular spots. 3. Mexico Capital: Mexico City Currency: Mexican peso President: Enrique Peña Nieto Official language: Spanish Language Government: Federal republic, Presidential system, Constitutional republic Population: 112,336,538 (2010) In mid-2008, the peso was at 10 to the dollar. Now it's close to 13. That's a discount of more than 25 percent in a country that was already a deal. Plus Swine Flu followed by drug gang violence on the U.S. border has meant that travelers have tremendous bargaining power on hotels and tours. To find the best values, visit the historic colonial cities or beach areas where Americans don't outnumber the locals. 4. Honduras Capital: Tegucigalpa Currency: Honduran lempira Government: Constitutional republic President: Porfirio Lobo Sosa Official language: Spanish Language Population: 7,754,687 (2011) Few people knew anything about this country until it was all over the news last year when the president got forced out of office. You can find fabulous deals on scuba diving packages on Roatan Island. 5. Guatemala Capital: Guatemala City Currency: Guatemalan quetzal President: Otto Pérez Molina Official language: Spanish Language Government: Presidential system, Unitary state, Constitutional republic Population: 14,757,316 (2011) This is only a shade farther to fly than Mexico, but it is a truly exotic destination. The descendants of the Mayans still dress in traditional clothing in the villages surrounding stunning Lake Atitlán. The Spanish colonial buildings in the city of Antigua are older than anything left standing in our historic city districts. 6. Peru Capital: Lima Currency: Peruvian nuevo sol President: Ollanta Humala Official language: Spanish Language Government: Republic, Presidential system, Unitary state, Constitutional republic Population: 29,399,817 (2011) Machu Picchu alone is worth the journey, but it's just the start in this value-packed country. Inca ruins are scattered all around the Sacred Valley, and Cuzco is one of the most attractive cities in South America. 7. Thailand Capital: Bangkok Dialing code: 66 Currency: Thai baht King: Bhumibol Adulyadej Prime minister: Yingluck Shinawatra Official language: Thai Language As with Honduras and Mexico, visitor numbers plunged when Bangkok was all over the news recently, so there are plenty of deals on airfare, tours, and hotels. This is a popular destination for travelers of all budget levels. 8. Czech Republic Capital: Prague Dialing code: 420 Currency: Czech koruna Government: Parliamentary republic President: Miloš Zeman Official language: Czech Language In much of Europe, prices in the big cities are often double what you find in the countryside. This is especially true in Eastern European countries like the Czech Republic, where vacationers on quick weekend breaks have driven up hotel and restaurant prices in Prague. In the smaller towns and cities, however, the country is one of Europe's remaining great values. And in the spirit of cultural communion, Pinder’s Missionary Project explores the Mexican underground commuter scene by delving into music. Using Afro-American sounds as a representation of self; the multi-channeled video performance brings the viewer into these precious exchanges in the underbelly of Mexico City. Rhythms harmonize (and clash) as the artist hawks his culture for ten pesos on crowded trains.

Going International...Calexico to Mexicali
While traveling so close to an international border, you can’t help but wonder what lies on the other side. Why wonder when you can nip the curiosity in the bud and just go check it out! That is precisely what we did while in Calexico. We parked Windy in a safe spot and hoofed it across the border! That’s right, we walked and we highly recommend it!

Taxis in the city are easy to come by and you don’t have to worry about overpriced rides. Mexicali is an industrial driven city and if you don’t have a plan, you might not find much to do. There are a few historical buildings spread out around town and a couple of unique spots to explore. Most of the locals don’t speak English which can be an additional road block. If you ask them what they do for fun well, they go elsewhere. Just a few hours away are the mountains and the ocean, which is where I would suggest you go if you are planning a trip.
The traffic lines for cars to get out of Mexico can be crazy! Not only are you stuck for hours but the street vendors (aka harassers) can be a bit much. You can end up spending your last pesos on china made trinkets and spicy candy. As if all of that isn’t enough, one guy even tried to sell me a puppy! Luckily on foot, it’s easier to turn them down and you don’t have to wait in line to get back to the good ol’ USA.
If you are thinking of making a run to the border, spend a day in Mexicali but continue your journey south. Have fun, be safe and don’t forget to buy your Mexican insurance before you cross the border.

aap360mx
Puerto Vallarta is a Mexican balneario resort city situated on the Pacific Ocean's Bahía de Banderas. The 2010 census reported Puerto Vallarta's population as 255,725 making it the sixth-largest city in the state of Jalisco. The City of Puerto Vallarta is the government seat of the Municipality of Puerto Vallarta which comprises the city as well as population centers outside of the city extending from Boca de Tomatlán to the Nayarit border (the Ameca River).
The city is located at 20°40′N 105°16′W / 20.667°N 105.267°W / 20.667; -105.267. The municipality has an area of 502.19 square miles (1,300.67 km²). To the North it borders the SW part of the state of Nayarit. To the east it borders the municipality of Mascota and San Sebastián del Oeste, and to the South it borders the municipalities of Talpa de Allende and Cabo Corriente.
Puerto Vallarta is named after Ignacio Vallarta, a former governor of Jalisco. In Spanish, Puerto Vallarta is often shortened to "Vallarta", while English speakers call the city P.V. for short. The city occasionally is spelled or pronounced as Porto Vallarta. In internet shorthand the city is often referred to as PVR, after the International Air Transport Association airport code for its Gustavo Diaz Ordaz international airport.
Four influences converged during the 1960s and early 1970s to launch Puerto Vallarta into its trajectory toward becoming a major resort destination.
First the federal government finally resolved century old property disputes involving the status of communal land originally appropriated from the Union en Cuale mining company to be parceled out as farms. The communal (ejido) status of the land had stifled development in the town for much of the 20th century. The transition to private ownership of much of the land within present city limits culminated in the appropriation of much of the land in 1973 and the establishment of the Vallarta Land Trust (Fideicomiso) to oversee selling the land and using the revenue to develop the city's infrastructure.
Second, the American director John Huston filmed his 1963 film The Night of the Iguana in Mismaloya, a small town just south of Puerto Vallarta. During the filming, the US media gave extensive coverage to Elizabeth Taylor's extramarital affair with Richard Burton, as well as covering the frequent fighting between Huston and the film's four stars. The subsequent publicity helped put Puerto Vallarta on the map for US tourists.
Third, in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the Mexican government invested in the development of highways, airport and utility infrastructure, making Puerto Vallarta easily accessible both by air and ground transportation for the first time. The city's first tourist boom occurred in the late 1960s and early 1970s because of this work. During those years most tourists in Puerto Vallarta were Mexican, and the reason they started travelling to Puerto Vallarta then was because the trip between Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta was made sufficiently convenient because of the governments investment in infrastructure.
Finally, in 1968 the municipality was elevated to the status of a City. The change in status reflected the renewed interest shown by the federal and state government in developing the city as an international resort destination.
Also significant was the August 1970 visit of US President Richard Nixon who met with Mexican President Gustavo Díaz Ordaz in Puerto Vallarta for treaty negotiations. The visit showcased Puerto Vallarta's recently developed airport and resort infrastructure, and thus contributed to the growing visibility of the city as a resort destination.
